Is it possible to create a free account to upload? When I go to the sign up page it only has paid options, but the FAQ says there is a free one.

FileJoker is now officially a joke:

Tried to download one large file (1.75 GB) for free.
There's now a 120-second wait-time to get the first file.
Must have the window active for the timer to count-down.

The download got stuck after about 9 MB.
Could not resume.
Gave up after many tries.
Tried to download a different small file.
Wait time was over 5 hours.

It was not this bad before (months ago).
In fact, it had been acceptable.
Now, it's unacceptable.

I shouldn't be surprised as the internet mostly went to shit back in 2015.
This is just a continuation of that.

And then there's the fact that someone else can grab the spot while you are waiting for those 2 minutes. Nothing like sitting there with the page open for two minutes, typing in the captcha and then being told you have to wait 5 hours.

@Ship-Shape, @KaiEr please note, that countdown, waiting time and other settings might be different, depending on file and uploader. By the way, premium users don't see waiting time, countdowns and a lot of other restrictions.

Yes, your recent adjustments have already made it perfectly clear that F.J. would rather get rid of the free users. As far as I'm concerned, you already have.

So… we're just letting you know that your restrictions have gone too far. Scale them back, and we'd be willing to give you another try.

I'm sorry you feel that way. However, free user limitations on FJ are far more relaxed than industry standard or comparible services. By the way we did not make any changes during last few months.

Uh, not in my experience. That used to be the case, but no longer. I would now characterize F.J. as being "almost as bad as the industry's worst offenders".

Maybe I'm just now noticing the changes you made in the past (I doubt it, but maybe). Either way, it has gotten worse. How long ago it was made worse isn't interesting to quibble over.

All this in-mind, I would have to say that Akiba is nearly dead to me. It's really only useful now as a reference tool.

FileJoker can change our minds about this if free user's restrictions are walked-back to where they had been previously (months ago).

So… I just tried to get a file about an hour ago. It was 0.25GB, something small, just to test the system (as one last chance).

My download speed was throttled at 40KBps. It had been 50KBps on my previous attempt, days ago (see above).

Then, as the file was mostly done, it got stuck. Tried resuming the download one time whereby the existing download was refused, and the incomplete file was replaced with an empty one.

This was not happening several months ago. Files which got stuck could be completed with enough patience (by resuming the download again and again). In other words, we've gone from bad to worse.

Was I timed-out after 1 hour by F.J.? If so, it means that even a 250 MB file can't be downloaded because of the maximum throttle speed.

@Ship-Shape, what you describe does not sound correct. It should be a lot better in every respect. I suggest that you contact me over PM and we will run some tests together, to see what's going on. I can't give you a definite response, beacause I don't know all the details. Get in touch with me over PM and let's figure this out.

For us, every customer be it paid or free is equally important.

Do those prepaid visa cards work on File Joker? Don't like to use my actual credit card online so I would rather use one of the Visa cards you buy at retailers etc.

It depends on card and payment method. But we have a few options for card processing and other payment options, so you shouldn't have a problem. Also, you can always contact our support if you need any help!

When you pay with CB, there is a Recurring payment.

In the FAQ, they say that it's very simple to cancel by sending an email to them.

Can you confirm that it's as simple?...because I don't want to pay for life....

I'm here with the same question. How exactly do you cancel the recurring subscription? The bit on the terms of service is a tad confusing: "To cancel your recurring subscription you may at any time email support@filejoker.net with your free form subscription cancelation request or information on how to cancel the subscription yourself."

Is it just sending a mail saying you want to cancel it? Is it handled quickly enough?

Yes, premium users have 50 GB per any 5 consecutive days. Statistic updates every 24 hours, automatically. You can always contact our support team and we will happy to help you!
