Not a Akiba site issue, but I have Filejoker premium and it is taking 10+ hours to download 5GB files. This is my second month with premium. The first month I could download within 10 minutes, but currently it takes hours and hours. Does anybody know what is going on?

Filejoker won't accept payment for Premium; my credit cards keep getting declined. Can anyone advise on this ? Would be most appreciated. Cheers.

Used Bitcoin to pay for a year subscription to FileJoker and I received confirmation they that received my payment but they have not upgraded my account (almost a week) and have not responded to emails either. Can't do much but I am going to try and cost them business.

Last year a subscription to filejoker cost me US$110, this year it wants US$170. WTF? Akiba needs to use rapidgator...

I assume the payout is better for filejoker uploaders! There must be some reason they are the only filehost allowed here.

They're the only filehost that's required, not the only one allowed and it's that way because they sponsor the forum which keeps this expensive website free.

Paragraph 8.3.1 of FileJoker's TOS (https://filejoker.net/tos.html) states: "Illegality/Adult Content - FileJoker.net neither sanctions nor permits site content or the transmission of data that contains illegal or obscene material, pornography..." There's really no detail or examples given of what they consider obscene or pornographic. However, while trying to set up an affiliate account with the intent of posting on Akiba's NewHalf Thread, Max, the FJ webmaster, informed me that they "do NOT allow extreme adult content like: gay, shemale, trans, ladyboy..." Here is the email exchange:
View attachment FileJoker Email.jpg
That naturally presents an obvious paradox: Akiba Online says I MUST use FJ when posting to this site, but FileJoker says I CANNOT use FJ when posting LGBTQ adult content to Akiba's NewHalf Thread. So, what am I supposed to do? Can someone in authority reply here, or tell me who I should address this to? Thanks.

That kind of stuff should be posted in the fetish section(and the newhalf thread is indeed there) of the forum and that section is exempt from this requirement because it's against filejoker tos: https://www.akiba-online.com/threads/filejoker-rule-exception.1539172/

Pro tip, always read a specific section rules before posting there since they sometimes have different ones than the global site.

Thanks for this information. I was able locate reference to that exception on page 11 of this thread. Thanks also for the "pro-tip," but there is no sticky thread with section-specific rules heading the Fetish JAV Downloads section, as appear in some (but not all) other sections. I was, however, able to locate the exception you referenced somewhat buried as the last sticky thread with a single entry on the first page of the Fetish JAV Downloads section.

SUGGESTION: As the header that appears at the top of every page seems to rather unequivocally mandate the use of FileJoker for all posts in all Direct Download subforums, perhaps the link for more information could be updated to include the exception to that rule. This seems like the most logical location to find details on the FileJoker rule, including any exceptions.

The section specific rules I mentioned are stuff from the sticky posts. Sometimes there's more than one so it might not be specifically stated as being the post about section specific rules(for example, the JAV Downloads main section has 3 sticky posts you need to know about before posting, which also applies to the fetish section), but that is where you will find information specific to those sections that you need to know before posting there.

The title identifies it fairly well so I wouldn't call it buried and the header you're talking about I assume is the filejoker ad which is just that, an ad.
It's true it would make things clearer if it were mentioned in the first post of this thread, but it's also important that you have a look at the sticky part of every section you plan on posting into so you should notice it before posting at least.

it is a sticky on the first page might have been post 11 when you looked,
that post does not get added to, will look into if it is possible to stay top

Absolutely. The number 1 reason I don't use this site often is because of the Filejoker dependency.

With the removal of the junior idol section there is no reason for me to use this board. Also allowing a company like filejoker to sponsor this site is such a joke. It doesn't allow content that is morally objectionable to them but is not illegal. Do i need to spell out what this sort of censorship leads to. This is the same reason i do not use paypal, they have a clause that says we can close and confiscate all of your money if we find your business to be offensive ( not illegal ) . The have done this to thousands of people.

Anyone who wants to run a site like this should do it out of passion. It does not cost much at all these days to host a site like this so the whoever is running this site is trying to make a profit on pirated content. The hypocrisy ...

This place just made my top 5 list of sites to fuck with.

And your servers are hosted in the netherlands - a place where you can be smoking a joint, drinking a beer, talking to a cop, and picking out a prostitute that you want to have sex with. All at the same time!

Filejoker is only required on the parts of the board that align with the moral limitations they have(which is usually dictated by credit card companies or other payments methods stuff if you want them to work with you) so that shouldn't be an issue here.

The mods here work for free and there's a lot of work to be done to prevent the board from having crap or badly sorted content (since many of the heavy posters don't properly look at what they upload) so there's a lot of passion going into it. It wouldn't cost that much if it was a low traffic website but the traffic is quite high and also requires multiple servers just to be able to run decently well so that cost quite a bit of money which is why a sponsor becomes necessary.

While akiba certainly isn't perfect, it's doing the best it can with the resources it has and has been for a very long time. Competent unpaid labor is hard to find, especially over such a long life.

If you have no use for the remaining content or don't like the site for one reason or another, you're free to leave, nobody is being forced to do anything they don't want.

Seems like a chicken and egg situation, the only reason the traffic could possibly be high must be because people are posting filejoker download links, if those links weren't posted there would barely be any traffic at all, since from what I can tell that's pretty much the only activity going on here these days.

Direct download hosts are what's most popular right now(and for a while before) so it would be a big portion of the traffic, but there's also many other section of the website that are still fairly active. Before direct downloads it was torrents and even p2p stuff would get posted since having an index to make things easier to find is always useful. A big portion of the traffic is also all the pictures that are hosted on the site itself so they don't break after a few years like it'll happen with most external image hosts(although some of the forum updates did break them at some point).

The longer a website is alive and has content people want, the more its population will grow and the more expensive the cost to have it run at an acceptable speed for most will become. There's certainly ways to make the cost cheaper but the experience on the site wouldn't be as good as it is now.

There's advantages and disadvantage of having a sponsor like this but overall, it makes the site better for most people and having a reliable long term way of paying for all of the cost is one less thing the owner has to worry about and their limited time can be spent on other matters.
