I definitely understand how it feels to always feel like a work can be changed or improved.
I often end up with 5 or more different edits and, sometimes, even create different versions with major storyline differences.
Yup! I do sometimes go back. But then, it just makes subbing other stuff even slower but oh well
And now that you recommended me, Aegisub I do go back more often. It's just wonderful. And way better than SubtitleEdit than I ever imagine. But I still like SubtitleEdit too.
Example, I may change things to include romantic intent, pregnancy risk, or pregnancy intention.
I can only do this because I only know a few Japanese words and terms. I've had folks who know Japanese express frustration with my work when my subs go in a totally different direction than the actual dialog.
Yeah, I see some Chinese subs and it bugs me.
But at least you make it clear yours is fan fiction, so you never deceive any one. They have to understand or kick rocks lol
Another example: I'm currently working on SDDE-303. The ACTUAL story revolves around mothers who attend a sex education seminar with their sons. Their intent is strictly to give their sons a proper sex education. That's a reasonable and believable story premise. However, once they start giving their sons head, the whole idea of them being average married women giving sex education to their sons goes out the window.
It's just not believable to me.
I agree. I like some of the sex education but stopped once they started casting the "mothers" way younger than the sons. That took me out of it completely.
And... as you said, once the d*** goes in the mouth, its like, really mom, who are you kidding at this point? hahaha
However....
Although it is still a stretch, I find the idea of a mother wanting the professional help of a seminar to help she and her son take their relationship to the next level.
While still far fetched, the romance/relationship angle provides a motivation for the mom to provide sexual services to her son.
The motivation would be that the mothers want to ensure that they go to the next level (sex and then adult style relationship) in a safe setting with proven, professionally led/supervised guidance.
I agree. Clearly mom wanted to take it to the next level once she spread her p****.
I can believe, somewhat, you will get completely naked... and show your son your tits.
But getting completely naked and opening your hole is another thing. It tells me you're a sexy little pervert and taken this opportunity to instigate our son into a sexual relationship lol
Maybe that only makes sense in my perverted mind, but it definitely provides a meaningful difference to me.
Anyone else ever face such storyline dilemmas?
So many storylines have broken the immersion aspect of the main plot for me because they do something so illogical I can't shake it, especially if the movie is bad.
For example. Shotas. I've talk about the ages of the shotas being played by old men and how if there's more than 1 shota in a movie... it seems to turn to r***. I don't like it.
r*** movies and r*** movies where the woman likes it??? Not for me. Yuck.
Speaking of another example. Bully or blackmail JAV.
These movies start out ok, but soon it seems the "bully or blackmailer" invites his friends or associates. I hate it. I mean in real life, (Yes I know it's JAV) but in real life, I figure you want to keep that quiet. Why have so many people know and potentially ruined your "luck or good fortunate"? Someone will tell. Someone always tell because they feel guilty or become jealous. It's a setup for failure.
Just like robbing a bank. The more people know, the more chances of you being caught
So yeah some things just bugs me. I tend to like "happier, gameshows, fun, milfy, some lolis(if its not r***) JAV. That's why my taste varies. If it's not fun, I won't watch it. NO r*** OR NTR hahaha
