I don't begrudge anyone who uses it but yeah when AI sometime misses "kimochii or "hai, I have to say no thanks.
And I do notice if AI can't get the correct answer it will simply replace it.

I will say people like @Chuckie100 , @Imscully , @Aikayikes! , and a few others seems to clean up their subs. Of course non of us is experts, so using AI helps as a base.
Omg, yes. After subbing for years background noise don't bother me anymore.
What bother me is lazy male actors and their pronounciation. It's cringy. Like my spelling
Also, Japanese abbrev, tones, and etc. AI will never get. And it makes sense.
I have subbed then watch on playback and find it doesn't make sense, in the context to a scene.
Plus many Japanese words might sound/translate different but means the same words or vice-versa.
Japanese is truly a complicated language.
On the +plus side to subbing for years. I understand lots of words and sentences.
I just can't speak it well... yet.

The way I see it, you are a top tier contributor here, so if you ask for something, I'm going to do all I can to get it to you.
I think the "no requests" is mostly for people who are new or aren't regular contributors.

My apologies for my earlier post of the sub. I wasn't satisfied with Whisper's ending so I cut a clip at the ending and I ran it through Whisper again, surprisingly Whisper filled in some missing dialog at the end that I have added in the revised sub! Who knew?

Thanks Chuckie. Mine repeats the same phrases and missing dialog (old videos from 2012) so i figured it must cause of the wrong audio format im using.
Yeah, the repeating of the same phrases seems to be a characteristic of Whisper Colab AI and I haven't found anything that eliminates it. I will change up some of the same phrases if the repetion is excessively long. I think missing dialog can be caused by too low a volume in the movie or background music that makes it difficult for Whisper Colab AI to detect/translate. I have been marginally successful in getting more dialog in the low volume case by increasing the volume in the movie and then running it through Whisper Colab AI again... at the expense of getting more garbage dialog. Haven't been successful with background music. Maybe VAD threshold setting may work somewhat, but really haven't tried that yet. So even with increasing the volume, one still has to review and edit the result. Not very graceful but Whisper is the best I've found. Maybe some of the other members that are more expert in the internal workings of Whisper can help you better that I.
