Thanks very much for the effort! Does that mean there's 5142 new ones in this version 3?
Correct. That's collectively seven years or so of posting history by the fine folks of this thread.

Also if I come across any subtitles that the pack don't have and it's on subtitlecat. I will download it and put it a folder, you can add it to later version. If subtitle is in Japanese, I will machine translate it to Chinese. I'll put in the file name "(machine translate)".

Why machine translate to Chinese? Ultimately, the goal for most here is to translate to English. We have so many Chinese subs because they're the ones making subtitles, not so much Japanese, who have little need for them (perhaps aside from hearing impaired people).

Anyhow, as long as the ID is clearly labeled at the start of the file, the software will figure out the language and name it like everything else.

Also, I find there's a lot of duplicates in version 2, the duplicates have a "1" in the name.

Those aren't duplicates. They're different versions of subtitles for the same movie. If you check the sizes or content, you'll notice they'll all be slightly different. There's no way for my organizing software to judge quality, so as long as there's any difference in the files, I have to preserve them all.

1. The subs in the pack are mostly Chinese, so I thought I will keep it the same with the pack. 2. I can read both Chinese and English, but I think machine translation is more accurate for Chinese.

Regarding duplicates, I had a look at the content but didn't see any difference, I will need to take a closer look later.

Well, I don't read Chinese, so you can judge that better than me. You're welcome to post whatever you like, and I'll gladly merge them in.

Of course, anyone can do the same, since the tool is available on GitHub.

The differences could be as small as a byte - maybe even an invisible character, like a BOM or different style of newline. I perform an SHA-1 hash on the two files, and if there's any difference, I preserve both of them. In many cases, the difference will be more obvious. My tool doesn't really have a notion of what's a "significant" difference or not from a human perspective.

BKD-186 Maternal And Child Mating - Daigo Road - Aina Rina

I found a machine translation for BKD-186, I cleaned it up a bit and attempted to interpret some of the machine dialog. However it may not be a true translation because I don't understand Japanese. Anyway enjoy and let me know what you think.

I have been looking for good (meaningful) subtitles for an old movie DVDMS-184 for several years. There are some in subtitlecat, but they don't make any sense. I would buy them, but I don't have the cards required to buy them. I know this is not a request, but if anyone has them, please post them here or privately.
Hey I actually tried to make a subtitle for this (see attached) using machine translation by transcribing the audio. I tested it out and had to watch the first mother-son's interview more than 5 times lol. It's no where near perfect but it's better than the subtitlecat one, you can understand about 50% of it. It seems subtitlecat's one is transcribed by machine too that's why it's jibberish. Some words like hazukashi were not transcribed, you need to know that it means "embarassed", it gets said a lot. Also I have no idea why it transcribed "mosquito" twice in the interview, hopefully someone who here knows?

In regard to the Japanese captions on the video, you can simply use your phone's app "google translate"'s camera feature and point it at the video.

If you like the result, you can also make your own subtitle using this method for other videos. It's done using "Subtitle Edit".

Hey I changed my mind I'll add English sub instead of Chinese.

I just went through about 10+ duplicates in ABP folder and it seems to have a pattern. The smaller file is cut off at the end about 10-20 lines, so it is incomplete. The larger file is the complete file. The translation are the same, so you should delete the smaller file. Would be frustrating for the user every time to have subtitles stop near the end of movie.

One exception is ABP-004, the larger file have partial jibberish even though it's complete. The smaller file is good translation but incomplete. So keep them both. I have not checked other folders.

I should mention that I'm in the process of compiling an archive of "good" English subtitle files. "Good" meaning either pro translations or well cleaned autosubs. Currently I have ~120 in the archive. That is based on going through about 2/3's of my own sub files. But I intend to expand the archive beyond what I currently have. If anyone else has already compiled such an archive let me know.

I'll post it up here when it reaches a certain critical mass.

While I appreciate the feedback, I'm not sure how you're expecting me to do that for the approximate 4K+ subtitles that are alternate versions for the same movie. This is an automated process, so I can't just arbitrarily pick the larger version, as you pointed out, since it might be worse than the smaller one. And of course, I could only really judge the ~500 English files in this category.

There are also some examples of people releasing part A & B subtitles. Unfortunately, this impossible to detect and distinguish between incomplete versions, and semantically, it was too difficult to preserve that. So, for scenarios like this, I think the safest policy is to delete only exact duplicates. I understand that people may need to look through multiple files, and there's no guarantee of quality or completeness, but I just don't have the time or ability to go though and clean up the entire collection by hand.

That'll be a great resource. I've attached 14 lesbian-themed subtitles which I've posted earlier, 13 of which I made, and one I found. I'm pretty picky about quality myself, so I think they'll qualify.

Ah yea, totally understand. I just thought you are good with code, and could just run through a code to delete the smaller duplicate. No problems if you can't and if it takes too much time don't worry.

This poor guy. I can't believe he wasn't rubbed down to a nub. Roughly 2600 lines, but there is a lot of 'great' and 'awesome' in there. So much so that when I was English-izing it I couldn't come up with any other phrases. Like someone else said in this forum, I had a package of frozen peas handy while converting it. Hope you enjoy!

Here's version using openai whisper. It translated better. However near the end of part one and end of part two it stops translating. It also uses fillers when cannot detect voice properly.

Hi. I liked to share a draft of a sub I did a long time ago. Recently I've gone back and started cleaning up my subs. Honestly, there are several getting the treatment.

Before...this would have been MY final sub, but now I have really sharpen my skills, I think.
My subs will no longer be in .srt format but most likely .ass/.ssa, as I said before I am really liking Aegisub :D

WARNING-- the sub is for the 3rd scene of the movie.
I kept the timing code so it could line up for you BUT I delete the subs for any scenes before and after
Remember, I am not an expert in Japanese and this sub is a castaway.

The movie features the yummy.. Yuma Asami. As usual the ladies of earlier porn are so beautiful and hot bodies. Yuma Asami, throughout her career has been one of JAV greatest sex queens. In this movie, she is bold and sexy. How nice it would be to find a girl who wouldn't mind getting nude.

SSIS-328 My Father-in-law's Favorite Food, Which I Hate To Death, Is Disgusting And Crazy, Was A Girl ● I Was A Raw ... Yura Kano

ssis328pl.jpg

My mother remarried and decided to live with a new stepfather, but the real purpose was to violate the pure girl "me". Under the same roof with no escape. Days of humiliation, being threatened, voyeurized, given suspicious drugs, and licked. Even though I know in my head that I don't like it...I'm stuck in a cock without any questions, and my body and mind gradually fall into the swamp of my stepfather's stick... "Mom...I'm sorry". A S1 full-scale drama about an innocent girl being invaded by her stepfather's madness.

One of my favorites. Original chinese sub from Subtitlecat, it's really messy at least with my video I have (Video info: duration 2:25:50 - size 6.10 GB). Re-sync and corrected every single line.
