Great to see you guys getting a deal with a company such as ORGA. They have a great selection of movies, and always use high quality talent for them.

When I first saw their titles and their site, I figured a studio putting out titles with this quality and a site that nicely-designed had to be owned by a big conglomerate. I was thankfully wrong there. They're actually pretty small. We'll be showing their titles at about one update a month starting in April I think. FHD from master tapes.

Great price, and never too long to wait depending on just how many orders they have in place obviously.
Although the plot is fairly obvious, it's the all the little details that make the translation worth having. The small incidental dialogue in the beginning of the scenes to set up the relationships gives it that extra taboo factor as we get the feeling this is a real family and not just two actors banging their genitals together. The pricing and process is quite simple.
First off is the actual overall cost of the translation. The usual price is $0.90/minute, so a standard two hour movie would cost $108. I bought a membership to their website ($50 per annum), giving me a lower cost, not only for purchasing subs but commissioning them. This membership gives me the rate of $0.80/minute so a standard movie will cost $96, and taking SW-356 as an example, it being three hours long meant it's price was $144.
Normally Erojapanese ask for a 50% deposit on all orders, but with us, they have waived that due i guess to being regular customers.
The price was decided by me. An $11 payment, taking off the Paypal fee, means that just over $10 will be paid to them. I've tried lowering the price but it made no discernible difference to how many people were donating, so i've decided $11 is a fair rate. I know this is more than what EroJapanese charge for their regular subs, but they have allowed us to set our own prices. It would not be fair if i asked people to donate $11, for it then to be priced at $6 upon release so the price remains the same. In fact, the price goes up to $12 upon release, to provide a small incentive to people to donate before release. I guess a $1 increase isn't much but i didn't want it to have a much higher price. If somebody doesn't see the movie project being advertised before sale, they shouldn't be punished for it, so i just added the small arbitrary increase for the sake of it.
Now comes the tricky part. Getting people to actually donate towards the movie project. Other than making posts on this forum, on various relevant threads, and also the javlibrary page, there isn't much else i can do. I like going to the effort of writing a review, and i hope that in some way it helps you guys to understand why i have chosen the movie. Whether it does or not, i have no idea but i'll try to keep doing it just for the hell of it.
When someone expresses their interest in contributing, i pass on the link where their donation can be made. If you let me know, then i can add your name to the credits on the sub file as a small gesture of appreciation (you don't have to be, if that's what you want).

Usually, the date set for release is a few weeks away, depending on just how many orders they have outstanding, so it gives us time to promote and send donations in to the project. Once the movie translation is complete, EroJapanese will send out the sub automatically to all that have placed an order for us to enjoy.
If there is any payment left outstanding, they will let me know, and i will cover it.
I'm not the only one to arrange movie translations and look for others to help pay towards it, as you can see on this and the other main translation threads here and here, but this is the way i've chosen to try and go about it. Some have failed to get much interest and i've ended up paying more than i would have liked to, but many have also been a complete success and have managed to raise all or most of the original quotation.
Waxaxa, I hope that answered anything you had concerns about, or just were curious over. The price for SW-356 will remain $12 for the foreseeable future. I hope you feel that it is worth getting, and the price is justifiable. It doesn't make sense that a movie sub can cost more than the movie itself (if you are honourable enough to buy it
), but in my experience the cost is clearly worth it. Also, just thought i would mention that the subs don't work on R player/DMM player so i guess sometimes it's worth being a thief. more than that. I was actually only wondering about the pricing for the community funded movies. Didn't think at all it's overpriced, I did buy SW-356 one day after posting that question, as well as 3 other subs. And I've been a funder for 2 movies in the past so I'm not completely out of the loop . But yeah, your answer did open up a new perspective and it does make more sense now, thanks =)
There's nothing honorable about buying these movies, at least from r18. No customer support, they take movies you bought from you without recompensation and their DRM's and video player's "qualities" mean you can't even watch subtitled movies.

I did know you have helped me out before, i believe RTP-049 was one, but i thought i would try to clear up any confusion for anybody else who might be wondering the same thing.
As for R18, yes you're right with those comments, especially the poor customer service. I don't think they are to blame for movies going missing, as i think a lot of the time it's due to legal issues and pressure from the production company but i don't think it's right not to recompense those that have their movies taken away. It's probably written somewhere in the small print, so i guess they can get away with it, but that doesn't make it right.
As for subtitles, i did ask R.18, when he used to come on the forum, why they didn't work on having movies subtitled, as clearly that would be a major selling point for a company looking to sell JAV to a western audience. I believe he said something along the lines that it would be a thorny issue as to how to share the revenues with the production team, which is a shame.

At least for us, we do share revenue with studios, but it has nothing to do with subtitling. We license the content and we do the subtitles and we've never had any issues from the studio-end. If anything, they're thankful that their movies are getting a good subtitling treatment so they become even more appealing to western fans.
I think if R18 wanted to do subtitles, they could easily--at least for studios DMM owns, but they perhaps do not have nor want to dedicate the manpower to this endeavour as it is a timely process that requires both bilingual language knowledge and some technical finesse.

I just found erojapanese free cinema page, but I can't seem to play any of those videos. Anyone here got the working one?
Seems a bit off topic in the request thread but I did a quick test: 3 of 5 requested video files get a 404 Not Found response, the other 2 are on servers that are offline. If you right-click on the player you get the option to send an error report.
