I don't get why they insist on filming hours long VR, and half of it is just teasing.

The problem is not teasing. Teasing and narrated intros are fine, they serve to show that you are interacting with a real girl or woman, not with a pornstar as it happens in western VRs, where after 10 seconds she is doing a blowjob.

I'm in favor of teasing... if there is real sex afterwards. The problem is that in many JAV VRs, as you say, 80% is teasing and 20% is light and boring sex.

For me the KMP studio and all their labels (VRKM, SAVR, BIBIVR) are an example of all the problems of VR. They produce dozens of VR titles a month but in most of them the girls barely get naked. They always wear a lot of clothes (it looks like you're watching a Netflix erotic movie, and not porn), 80% is teasing, and 20% is slow and boring sex, and it's always the same scenes with the same camera shots. For me it's the worst JAV VR studio and it's doing a lot of damage to the medium, because it releases dozens of titles a month and they are all clones of each other, boring, unimaginative, and with very bad sex.

The same goes for the new 8K studio, Resorevo (RSRVR), which I don't know if it belongs to KMP, but their movies are just as boring and lazy. They seem clones of KMP titles. They are also flooding the market with 8K VR movies (they have 20 titles in a month) but they are so boring, with the same scenes and shots, that the only thing they are doing is harming the 8K format, because they are saturating the market with their mediocrity.

Since the new law in Japan the "quality" of the girls has dropped a lot, and a lot of stars have retired.

Also many studios with exclusive girls like Fitch, Prestige and others, do not shoot VR.

Finally, the downfall of SOD VR, which in 2023 is releasing much more VRs, but most of them quite mediocre. And They only use their exclusive stars, such as Minamo, Suzu Honjou or Sakura Mana, in 1 or 2 VRs per year.

Luckily, with the release of 8K movies, powerful studios such as S1 Number 1, Moodyz, IdeaPocket and Premium are releasing good VRs with their exclusive girls, and thanks to that VR releases have gone up a notch.

It seems to happen to some JAV actresses that have been around for a number of years.
They gradually transition to genres that are more fetish, low quality and most of all hardcore. Unless they retire before that, which might be the better choice.

My guess has always been that the new top actresses take over in popularity, and unless the older ones have an exclusivity contract with a specific studio, like Makoto Toda (Sod create and then Faleno) before she's retired. This happens to some extent.

Freelancers seem to be the ones who are affected by this. I remember Arisu Mizushima, looked like a normal cute AV girl in her titles under that name. And did normal stuff for the most part.

She was gone for a while then came back under Otsu Alice and now Seina Arisa. So much plastic surgery I hardly recognize her, and she does so much of those genres above, hardcore and anal especially.

I agree about Azusa Misaki, in addition to being pretty and cute she is good at acting. I liked her in titles like SW-623 and miss those days.

They are perfect matches. As you say, unfortunately many of them can't become reality because the girls are retiring. I don't understand how out of 2,000 JAV VRs released per year, only 1 or 2 are lesbians. In 2D the proportion is higher.

Yes, with more bitrate they should look a little better. I don't understand why they are released with such low bitrate. Maybe it's some limitation when capturing in Fanza.

I've bought quite a few 8K VRs at Fanza just for support, but it's impossible to watch anything. Their player is garbage and 8K movies look like 4K, and 4K movies look like 2K. I don't understand how anyone can use Fanza player.

Hopefully A Festa VR will release 8K VRs soon, they sell them without DRM. Hopefully they will have more bitrate.

I actually planned on watching DSVR-1120 again now that I have a good player to view it in. Looks good for 4K if I remember right, and it has plenty of close up scenes.

I've got the BBVR ones laying around somewhere, as you say they are old.

Well, it's hard to explain. For me a good lesbian scene is as exciting as a straight one. Why? I don't know exactly. But it works for me. Maybe because I would never do it with a man, so watching two women doing it has something lustful, taboo, that turns me on.

On the other hand, they are still beautiful girls having sex, that's always exciting.

However, unlike you, a woman alone doesn't turn me on too much, it's not enough. That's why I don't watch softcore VRs or a woman alone, if there is no sex with a man or another woman. Each person has their own tastes, I guess.

65 movies have been released in 8K VR in just over a month. And while the quality has plummeted in recent weeks, there are some worthwhile titles.

The 8K resolution really is a big improvement if you have good glasses and a good player, it looks more real, so the movies excite you more. But incompressibly the bitrate is very low on almost all releases. I don't know if it's Fanza's fault, or the uploaders.

These are the ones I liked the most. They all have full nudes, face-to-face cowgirl and face-o-face missionary , which are my favorite camera shots. I have bought all them at Fanza to support 8K titles.

Yuki Takeuchi has a nice slender body and her acting is very realistic. Many face to face scenes with the camera close, you really feel like you are with her.

The only Resorevo title that isn't full of clothes, and slow, boring sex. This title is completely different, with close ups of the full body, face-to-face camera shots, faster sex, and an awesome face-to-face misionary.

Seika Igarashi is a cute girl and acts very well, although she talks too much during sex. But she is fantastic, I hope she will be in more VR movies....

This movie has been criticized because Minami Aizawa has some imperfections in her skin (at 8K you can't hide anything), but I think that gives her a realism that makes it more erotic. They are real women, with their imperfections, not plastic dolls ....

SIVR-248 looks great, but a bitrate of 10k is ridiculous. It's the average bitrate of regular 4K videos, as in non VR...

I am hesitant to get these titles, I've seen 4K VR titles with close to 40k bitrates so it should not be a technical limitation.
