I'm European, so I don't have that Asian culture of names. I guess it's strange for you to see them backwards.
I like to write them correctly, so when I see a name in Japanese, I use Minnano as you told me. But I admit that sometimes, if the name is on an English website, I copy it as it is, I don't turn it around because I'm lazy. Other times, I see a Japanese name and don't know which is the family name (what we call a surname in the West) and which is the personal name... As you say, there are Japanese names that sound good either way. In Chinese, I guess not.

But as I say, the correct thing to do is to write them in their original name, so I'll try to do that...

Oh, trust me. Hayashi Mei is the one you'll want to see in VR. In case her link didn't work for you earlier...

I know what you mean about Yamada Suzuna, there's something a bit uncanny about her face. Maybe it's facial surgery, like Walle mentioned.

I think her nose is very straight, artificial. Also, in her debut, there was something wrong with her left eye, it looks a little strange, as if she had a stye or something. But in everything else, her body, sex scenes, moans, she's perfect.

About the name order - I usually copy whatever it says on javtrailers, and for some reason they swap from original japanese. That's not even the worst mistake, they misspell names all the time, especially when they use confusing kanji

The Japanese actually don't have very many surnames. They always just recycle a few dozen of them. JAV names can be admittedly more exotic with more variety that can be a little harder to decipher. Kira Kira? WTF? No one has a name like that. But than again, who cares which even is the surname here lol. The wordplay is genius though, hats off to whoever thought up that JAV name.

It can also be confusing with certain names. Eg. Sakura Momo + Sakura Mana. Sakura is more commonly a first name. Its usage as a surname is rare. However Mana and Momo are most definitely given names but you need some familiarity with Japanese names to recognize this.

Just want to add this is like IMDB but for JAV haha. Its a fantastic resource.

You can use to search for JAV girls around a certain age range. Or cup size. Or even blood group, if that's your thing. Just note that the age range thing is a bit broken so you might need to manipulate the year entry in the URL (easy enough if you understand some coding). Just don't do something weird to draw attention to yourself pls haha. Not like they'll have any result if you search below a certain age. There are laws against that in Japan after all. But I do skim it for 18 to 21 year olds every so often to see who might the fresh new faces that I might have overlooked.

Thanks to that site, I know Faleno has signed 2 fresh new girls who are quite pretty but we know how Faleno are with VR so...ah well. Shame, cos Ikuta Sana is totally my type.

OK, later response to this cos I had to go dig around a bit. Losing my old DB and having to reconstruct it means I had to go find this title back again.

I've always said that one shouldn't just focus just on the very specific videos that meet all their criteria. Sometimes, if you enjoy a certain something, you should just watch some VRs just for the heck of it.

Like how VRKM-1054 continues to be one of my fav videos even though its from the 4k era. I won't say I enjoy all the sex scenes in it but I do like most of it. But mostly, I really like it cos it directly opens with 3 glorious butts in your face. Yes, I prefer them in t-back panties initially compared to naked. No mosaics, see? Those panties do eventually come off anyway, so what's the hurry? Enjoy the view for now.

3D faces look a little different than in 2D. That happens in real life too.
On the other hand, in VR everything is so close that nothing can be hidden; you can even see the pores on their skin. Actresses in “face to face” are not usually as attractive as in a 2D video, where everything is far away. Although there are exceptions, some girls seem much more attractive to me in VR than in 2D.

OK, this year's list was harder to make than the previous year. I ended up shortlisting about 20 titles or so, narrowed it down to about 14. And than really had to think about it before I picked my 10. This is going to be a long post with lots of pics, so I'm gonna resize most of them to max 640p in height so as to reduce space and loading time.

Anyway, here goes.

10: KAVR-402
Director: Zampa
Cast: Itsuha, Hinata Natsu

Quite a few titles survived from my list earlier this year and this is the first of them. This one was just too fun for me to not include it. You, Itsuha, and Natsu are childhood friends who went drinking together and end up checking into a hotel room to sleep it off. However, both girls also have a crush on you with Natsu being the first to confess. She than proceeds to seduce you by slowly stripping off (quite a thing to watch) only to have Itsuha pull her back and cuckold her by jumping on you first. By rights, this should have turned into an ugly catfight but they're best friends (IRL too, apparently) so they end up sharing you even if Natsu sulks sometimes when its not her turn

There isn't nearly enough as much lesbian action going on as the synopsis and screenshots suggests, but these 2 girls are clearly very comfortable with each other, and supposedly were also busy fooling around on set off-camera too. One gets the feeling that they would be exchanging saliva more often on camera except the director told them to knock it off and focus on the guy more. Gagh, what a waste...

It has its flaws. Its directed by Zampa after all else this would probably be higher ranked. Nevertheless, being competed over by these 2 cuties is still a very enjoyable experience. Another from my earlier list. Sasaki Saki has been very active this year with 4 titles but her first from January is still the best, IMHO. Saki is at her most playful best here. Or maybe I just have a thing for tsundere personalities. Anyway, Saki is your younger sister who teases you with her panties while hanging out in the living room together. She notices you watching, calls you a pervert but continues to tease you some more. Of course some wincest is going to happen.

Marin has always been one of my favorites for her doll-like features that makes her prettier than many Japanese idols. She has improved quite a bit since her debut with more of her personality showing through instead of being somewhat detached. She's had 3 enjoyable VRs this year but I'm going with this one cos I liked it the best overall. In this title, you and Marin decide to skip out on a school festival to have you own little private celebration at a love hotel. How the heck can 2 school-going teenagers afford a love hotel room or even book one, you ask? Shaddap!

The 3rd video opens with a very naked Marin waking up while lying on top of you than she proceeds to tease you by poking your nipples. Its a cute and fun little intimate moment which pushed this title ahead of the other 2 for me. I also like that she keeps the skirt on during the previous sex scenes. The young lovers scenario is always better with the ribbon and the skirt. Feels incomplete without them.

SIVR-434 was great too and I had it shortlisted. But end of day, young lovers > wincest simply for the intimacy. I have no qualms about enjoying incest titles (see #9) but I still prefer it when the girl doesn't call me 'nii-san' most of the time. Not to mention I got a little squicked by Marin claiming to have a 'M' personality and asking to be choked in the other one. It just doesn't suit her look.

7: IPVR-334
Director: ---- (I'm starting to think this might be the actual pseudonym of a director)
Cast: Aise Ria

Been waiting for this beauty to show up on VR since her 2D debut with IdeaPocket and she certainly didn't disappoint with her first entry. I don't think there's any real plot here. Just your standard live-in lover scenario. Sure, there's a bit of director hi-jinks with water sprays but that's a minor matter. Ria gave us what is, IMHO, essentially the best and most intense cowgirl scene in VR of 2025.

Those perfect breasts jiggling up and down are pretty much seared into my memory at this point. And this goes on for quite a long while too, unlike so many titles which just rush through every position. The rest of the sex scenes are great as well but the cowgirl scene haunts my daydreams and theatens to give me a boner in public whenever I drift off.

6: SIVR-427
Director: Zampa
Cast: Kawakita Saika

Before Genius Hiza came along and showed us how it was done, Zampa actually surprised us very good GFE VR with Kawakita Saika. You get to take a stroll outdoors with Saika while holdings (not a common thing in VR) and than she confesses that she has feelings for you and wants to spend the night together. And so the two of you go on to make love all night. Yes, make love. Its not just casual sex for fun anymore. That's what these GFE VRs are about. It ups the immersion to a whole new level.

In hindsight, Genius still does this genre better but Saika's incredible beauty just makes up for any shortcomings. She's actually quite a good actress despite her superstar status at least when it comes to one-on-one intimate scenes. This is by far her best 8k title and even her best VR title overall, and we can only hope that Genius decides to work his magic with her some day. That will likely be my VR of the year, if and when it happens.

5. MDVR-380
Director: Genius Hiza (Knee)
Cast: Yagi Nana

Yagi Nana is criminally underutilized in VR by Moodyz so when she got a GFE title with Genius, it would be normally be cause for cheers and celebration. Unfortunately, she is also well into her anorexic phase at this point. Why couldn't this have happened sooner in her career? Which idiot put the silly idea in her head that she needed to slim down? That is a freaking crime against humanity.

Regardless, Nana has always been a great performer (just ignore her earlier titles, gotta give a girl a chance to learn) and her beauty also more than compensates for any shortcomings. Just keep your gaze above breast level if the sight of ribs bothers you. She's gorgeous enough anyway that there's little reason to look anywhere else but her face. And her breasts are still very nice, haven't shrunk from the diet.

Doesn't she look adorable sleeping in that hammock? This would actually be ranked at #2 if she had her body from a year ago. Sigh...

4. KAVR-434
Director: Genius Hiza
Cast: Akana Ito

Yet another wincest title but perhaps not as scandalous. Akana Ito is just your cousin and not your sister. Difference? Jamie Lannister bonked his sister. Tywin Lannister bonked his cousin. See the difference? Yes? No? Doesn't matter. Either way, your kids end up all fucked up. Use protection when you're related, capiche?

Back to topic. Both you and Ito have been casually fooling around with each other somewhat since childhood. As in she's touched your peepee and you've touched her punani. But that was just childhood curiousity. You're both grown up now and should know better, so what do you two of you get up to when you meet up after not having seen each other for so long? This title was an early frontrunner for VR of the year for me and its still high on up the list if no longer in the lead. You just rented an apartment that comes with an incredibly horny ghost as a bonus. And while you resist initially (idiot!), she keeps pestering and teasing you relentlessly until you eventually give in. Seriously, why are you masturbating to porn on your phone when someone...err...some ghost as beautiful as Kasui Jun is literally begging you for it? Are you stupid or what?

She upped her game significantly since joining Honnaka from S1 so its a real shame she went and ruined her breasts somewhat with plastic surgery. Regardless, she's still hot enough for me to be somewhat interested in her so I guess I'll still be watching her VR content. Just don't make any silly bunny vid... never mind...

2. KAVR-461
Director: Genius Hiza
Cast: Itou Mayuki

This has been a very productive year for Mayuki in VR with 7 releases, one of which she is a duo with Yamagishi Aika. Of course, some of you are likely disappointed that they never played tongue-fu in it. I had thought Mayuki isn't intereted in lesbian scenes cos Aika certainly is willing, except Mayuki also recently did a 2D video with Jinguuji Nao and they most definitely exchanged saliva in that one. Guess she's just picky who she does it with but what's wrong with Aika?

Getting distracted here, back on topic. Believe it or not, Mayuki has actually done two VR titles with Genius this year. Yes, two. Than again so has Kasui Jun actually. Coincidentally enough, both the VRs involve your brother in some form. The other one has Mayuki being married to yet neglected by your brother, so you step up to take his place as the main man in her life. Well, main dick at any rate. He pays the bills, you enjoy the benefits. Win-win situation.

But I prefer the storyline for this one instead. Mayuki is the hot new nurse in your school. Seems her school crush was your older brother who is now married and you very much resemble him. The sight of you makes her nostalgic so she asks if you are willing to relive her youth with her. She asks if you have a girlfriend to which you reply yes but she seduces you anyway and you let her cos you ain't stupid, unlike some of the previous VR guys. Deed done, she arranges for you to hook up with her regularly after school in the infirmary when no one else is around to which you agree of course. Smart fella, this VR chap.

This VR is truly very immersive cos of the plot and the attention to detail. As your sexy time is after school hours, they shot the scene in the evening with the dimmer sunlight streaming in from the window. Your girlfriend even calls at one point to complain about your absence and asks why you never seem to walk back home with her anymore. Meanwhile Mayuki shoots you a cheeky glance while she continues to service you.

And cos you're both just incredibly horny, she also invites you over at night where she puts on a sexy nightie and you both than go at it in so many different positions that even I started to get disoriented in the headset. And at the end of it all, after you spent the entire day pumping her full of your seed, Mayuki looks up at you in the eyes and declares that she's totally over your brother and is now totally in love with you instead.

C'mon, like anyone is even a surprise at this point. You regulars here saw this coming a mile away and likely have it as #1 on your list too. There's no need for me to talk about this title. Those of you who have watched it and are familiar with my tastes know exactly why it is #1 on my list. Those of you who haven't need to go and watch it right now instead of reading some silly list. What are you waiting for? Go. This will change your life. Not to mention your underpants when you're done.

Notable others that made the shortlist and almost got in:
MDVR-371 - Mitani Akane
That was an intense performance from Akane in her last VR. I'm a fan and it almost made #10. Almost.
MDVR-368 - Miyashita Rena
Rena in maid outfits? Fuck yes, but putting her in #10 clearly would be a personal bias. I so nearly gave in though.
HNVR-156 - Tojo Natsu
Always liked Natsu. This was great but it just kinda got edged out.
URVRSP-509 - Yura Kana, Minami Hinano, Tsukino Aya
You've all watched the infamous first scene by now but I actually like the rest of this title as well. Its just really funny to be called seishi-sama (sperm master) the entire time. Those girls look innocent yet say the naughtiest things (please use my manko however you wish). The bonus card game segment at the end of this title is also just really cute and fun to watch.

Best Actress: Aizawa Miyu

Surprised? Thought I was almost going to hand it to Ishikawa Mio? Or even Itou Mayuki? Well, I'd rather give it to a girl who could use the recognition. Actually she has plenty enough of it already. There's a reason why she shot to the top of the Fanza charts mid-year ahead even of Seto Kanna. This girl is dynamite. That bod is solid! Thicc yet its all tight. No flab on this girl, no sir. Unfortunately, being indie also means she doesn't get to do any big budget or fancy titles that will get her on my top #10 but her enthusiastic performances in all her titles this year did not fail to get my attention.

I mean look at that butt. Just look at it. That's prize-winning material right there. People will write songs about it. Well, Sir Mix-A-Lot will at any rate...

Best New Actress: Hanamori Kaho

Lots of strong candidates this year. Akana Ito, Haruno Ruru, and Aise Ria all came to mind. But in the end, I have to hand it to Kaho. This girl is the hottest young thing to hit JAV this year. Just look at her. She's pretty, has a charming smile, a sweet paipan pussy, and a fun personality to boot. I have no idea why the hell Idea Pocket let her go. Or it could be she turned indie like Aizawa Miyu, who knows? What I do know is she really got done dirty in VR this year. From shitty camera work to crap quality titles.

For me, her best title so far would be SAVR-839 which isn't great but is at least normal-ish. But even in her debut title of IPVR-322 which has a balloon head issue, I can't seem to stop watching this particular scene. I haven't been a fan of sitting missionary before but now I'm totally crazy for it. All because of Kaho. I mean look at that. How can you resist a girl like that? That's why she's the best new girl - regardless of the crappy titles she's been in. Now we just need some competent director to step up. Genius? C'mon? Do us all a favor.

Best Director: Genius Hiza
If not him, than who else? 5 of his titles made it into my list and in the top positions too. Quite a few of this other titles were in my shortlist too. He's not perfect, but he's the best we got this year.

Best Studio: Moodyz
Simply for getting Genius to work with Ishikawa Mio and Yagi Nana. Miyashita Rena next, please. Or Kira Kira. Where the hell is Kira Kira anyway?

Disappointments of 2025
You know what? This mostly just all boils down to one word - ZAMPA. Seriously, this guy was responsible for some of the biggest let downs of this year for me. Amatsuka Moe shoots her first and only VR this year, and who ruined it? Hanamori Kaho made her debut this year and who ruined it? Miyashita Rena shot a maid VR this year and it was kinda blah, and the director is? Ishikawa Mio's maid VR is also kind blah, and the director is? Aise Ria's 2nd VR is blah, and the director is?

Just go away already, Zampa. Stick to 2D or something. The handful of times you did something decent does not justify the amount of stuff you have ruined with your nonsense. Not even that Saika VR makes me think you're worth having around. Literally anyone could have done something decent with Saika, and Genius would have done better.

Oh, and Kasui Jun got plastic boobs.

Also, fuck you SOD. All those stars in your roster and you can't do anything decent with them this year.

This is gonna be loooong...
- Inoue Momo from Moodyz and Hayashi Mei from IdeaPocket to make their VR debut
- Kira Kira to come back to VR.
- SOD to not be so lame
- Fix your goddamn video quality, Unfinished. You call that 8k? Other studio's 4k looks better than your 8k.
- Zampa to go play in traffic or something
- Better VR direction for Hanamori Kaho
- VR 3P with Aise Ria and Sasaki Saki, with both of them going at each other like they did in IPZZ-623
- Jinguuji Nao to return to VR, do a 3P with Itou Mayuki and also play tongue fu with her.
- Here's a shortlist for you, Genius. Do the GFE routine on them: Hanamori Kaho, Kira Kira, Miyashita Rena, Shirakami Emika, Inoue Momo, Kuraki Hana. They could use the boost. Would like to see Kawagoe Niko too but she'll be fine without your help.

Oh, man, It's a pleasure to read your posts, it's a shame you don't comment so often... We also have more in common than I thought, half of what you say seems to come out of my mind...
From your top 10, I'm not into threesomes (they're less immersive because they have to open up the shot to include two actresses, and I get distracted because I don't know where to look ), so I can't comment on those. I need some lesbian action to watch a threesome...

9: IPVR-296 - Sasaki Saki has lost the freshness she had in 2024 for me. She doesn't feel it as much anymore, nor does she give those little screams she gave in her early movies. Now it just seems like work.

8: MDVR-355 I really like Mita Marin, but none of this year's movies convinced me. The one with Genius Knee looked promising (SIVR-434), but it ends up being a stupid domination movie where the actor grabs Marin by the neck the whole time in the missionary position.. . And as you say, that kind of sex doesn't suit her at all.

7: IPVR-334. Aise Ria is spectacular, and the movie is pretty good, but it's ruined by the oil / water they pour on her in the last 15 minutes,with no justification whatsoever. Just before the oil, Ria had started to sweat. I've noticed that in some movies, when an actress sweats a lot, they put oil on her to hide it.
Why do they show us all kinds of unpleasant fluids, like the actor's condom full of semen, but there's a taboo about sweat? I don't understand...

6: SIVR-427: It's a strange movie because it's identical to those by Genius Knee. Who copied whom? This one is very good, but many of us are waiting for the 3-hour Genius movie with Kawakita Saika... Let's see if we get lucky in 2026.

5. MDVR-380: The movie is perfect, Yagi Nana is so beautiful... but she's become skin and bones. Whoever is forcing all the actresses at Moodyz and S1 to lose weight should be in jail. Many have lost all their appeal. Nana is at the limit, if she hasn't already crossed it.

2. KAVR-461: A movie with Mayuki couldn't be missing from your list.. No wonder, she's always perfect in her movies, but they're all the same. My type of VR, so I'm not complaining.

1. MDVR-369: Oh, I didn't expect this one... There's not much to say, guess which one will be my number 1 too...

Best Actress: Aizawa Miyu. I don't know why, but I don't connect with this actress. She has an incredible body (yes, Chewbaka, the best ass in JAV VR), but I'm not attracted to her face. I agree that she was probably the best actress in 2025, but I'll choose someone else (I don't know who yet).

Best New Actress: Hanamori Kaho. I agree 100% on this one. Cute, with a great body, perfect skin, she knows how to act in VR. It's a shame that all her movies are crap, or lacking something. The only exception is SAVR-870, which is pretty good, strange for me to say about a studio I hate with a passion. In her latest VRs, she has gotten caught up in a fetishistic spiral that I fear she will never escape, as happened to Minase Akari.

Disappointments of 2025. ZAMPA now seems a director of SAVR.
