JAV VR: News, comments about releases, recommendations, hardware

My main reason for ignoring most studio's older titles (I'd say pre 2021?). Tinny audio; when the actress would laugh or moan it would burst my eardrums. Jinguuji Nao and Eimi Fukada's co-title at Honnaka was no exception. Such a shame - I'd be able to look past the visual quality if the audio was tolerable.
Yeah, this is another pet peeve of mine. Some clips, their audio is so soft you need to turn it up. Than you switch to another title and suddenly your neighbors all can tell you are watching porn. Plug in earbuds for privacy and your eardrums burst instead.

Would hate to spend on the Quest 3 if the Quest 4 will greatly outperform it in all aspects; standing in my own way of having fun, you see.

My advice is not to wait for Quest 4. They are going to be a long time coming and I don't think they will be much of a leap. The leap has already been made in Quest 3 with the pancake lenses.

I regret the years it took me to get into VR. Now I see them as wasted years. If you have the chance, get some Quest 3...

If you and Walle haven't already; do you guys keep a notepad/excel document of all your releases in case of hard drive failure? Unless there's another way of keeping record of your collection unbeknownst to me, it may have utility.

No, but It is a good idea... What I do have is a copy of my favorite scenes on another disc. I have about 3 or 4 TB of repeated scenes on two discs. If one goes bad, at least my favorite scenes I don't lose them.

Moodyz is on a roll recently. Releasing more scenes than usual, and most of them great quality.
Most recent MDVR-268 with Shiki Shirato was fantastic. Ton of action, great intimacy, good angles. And the girl is just amazing

I'm also really looking forward to MDVR-259 with Nozomi Ishihara. Her last scene was an instant classic, and the trailer looks promising
BTW I'm always amused by the nonsense english phrases they like to put on the covers sometimes - "A woman who is addicted to the highest image quality" sure, whatever that means

I am really enjoying the latest Moodyz releases. They have beautiful and exclusive girls, the movies are over two hours long, and they fit what I like (scenes with full nudity, face to face and with the camera close up).

Looking forward to that title with Nozomi Ishihara.

The Quest 3 remains on the list, drawing nearer as I knock off outstanding purchases. Looking forward to it, not just for JAV but also for general media consumption and the game Eleven Table Tennis. Opting for the 128GB variant.

Have you used your headset for PCVR gaming in your time of ownership, or to view non-JAV VR media? The FOV of your headset is equal to the Quest 3's with the addition of AMOLED panels with must look great, even if the resolution is a bit lower than modern offerings.

Yeah, I am currently playing Asgard's Wrath which came free with my Quest 3. Its quite fun and I am enjoying pretending to be a viking warrior. I think you will still get that, but you might not get Asgard's Wrath 2 free anymore. Supposedly you only get AW2 free if you bought the Quest 3 during the launch period.

The games are generally better when its tethered to your PC via airlink cos your PC's GPU is more powerful. Games that run only on your headset usually have lesser graphics and fidelity. Also, it burns through your battery faster if the headset has to do the processing.

I bought Half Life Alyx during the last sale but never quite got round to it yet, haha. I have been playing a lot of mini golf though. Surprisingly very fun and I plan to add more courses during sales on Steam.

Oh, Valve's "The Lab" which is free on Steam is a collection of VR minigames and experiences that are surprisingly ridiculously fun. I spent quite a bit of time playing those.

I haven't seen much non JAV videos though. Just some free documentaries and animation that you can download from the Meta store.

Netflix suchs on the headset, suspect cos Meta didn't want to pay for the widevine license on the headset.

I use my headset to play PC VR games, too. There are awesome titles. And experiences... I have PS VR2, too, so I play a lot VR games.

Kept hearing about AW but had yet to check out gameplay - looks very fun. HL:A is rated highly online, said to ruin most other VR games for some due to how amazing it is - whether they are being hyperbolic, who knows. High hopes for Eleven Table Tennis. With a slipped disc, can't do anything too strenuous unfortunately

PS VR is cool tech. Would appreciate if Xbox brought VR to their consoles, but seeing as Microsoft recently discontinued their mixed reality headsets, not holding my breath...

Little knowledge on Steam VR outside of cursory glances at Steam Link discussions. PCVR seems to be the clear next step for the budding VR enthusiast. Outside of games and virtual environments, viewing 3D scans of cars would be great. A standalone headset geared more toward media consumption with light gaming on the side would have much utility - an AVP without the walled garden experience and exorbitant price tag.

Upgrading the stock strap/acquiring an external battery are usually recommended to newcomers; the seemingly affordable price of the Quest can quickly multiply if you opt for PCVR and upgrades.

I would caution you against having too much expectations though.

If you have a slipped disc, you might not enjoy Asgard's Wrath or Superhot. Both require a fair bit of movement on your part. Combat in AW gets more strenous as it goes along until it starts to mimic swordplay. Like you need to parry than immediately counterswing in order to break your opponent's defense.

Superhot requires you to move like an action movie star except in very slow motion. You don't exactly have to bend over backward like Neo to dodge bullets, but this is not a game that can be played by sitting down in your chair.

I tried but immediately refunded the popular Beat Saber. Couldn't handle it.

I thought Google Earth VR would be a fun experience to explore cities with but it actually isn't. You don't actually get to move around the streets of a city like in Google Street View. You jump between pre-defined points. Its quite a let down.

I have not tried any of the VR chat apps. Not a social person.

No worries - as much as those titles look enticing, under no illusions that my enjoyment would be hampered by partial range of motion. Passive media consumption is my main priority; ETT is the most active game I'm willing to subject myself to. If a workout is desired, I'll start on the long journey to healing my back and go about purchasing a bicycle, as is my future plan.

Have a somewhat sensible level of anticipation in all honesty, apprehension still lingering. Have seen enough reviews to understand we have yet to acquire the VR of science fiction. As long as the experience is good enough to enable long-term use, all is well.

Shame about Google VR - people made it seem like you could traverse freely no issue. Maybe in the far future such a experience will be possible.

Yep, not interested in the social aspect of VR. I'll happily check out some relaxing solo environments in VRchat, but that's about it.

Still amazed that VR-only is a viable option. If one had been introduced to and stuck with VR from the onset, drama in the 2D space would simply pass by unbeknownst. The slower change of pace is appreciated; 3 years of obsessively systemizing my engagement with 2D left little room for true enjoyment. Won't make that mistake here.

The absence of males will take a while to adjust to mentally as a result of having been trained to expect and tolerate their presence. Having porn outside of solo/lesbian female content that caters solely to the viewer without feeling gimmicky/low-effort wasn't something I had even considered feasible, but unknowingly longed for all along.

Eager to experience actresses in VR without having first seen them in 2D. Will come a time when I know no 2D-only actresses and only those in VR!

I am already at that point... I only watch VR porn in the last 3 or 4 years.... Sometimes I discover an actress for the first time in VR, and it turns out she's been in 2D for a couple of years.... Or I think an actress has retired because she hasn't shot VR for two years, but all this time she's been doing 2D movies and I haven't heard about it...

My mentality regarding porn has changed. Porn is no longer about watching guys doing things with pretty girls. For the last 3 years, porn has been me doing things with pretty girls...
It's a brain change more profound than it seems.... It changes everything about porn.

If she ceases VR shoots, she has effectively "retired" in our world you could say, haha. You alerted me to the absence of Tsukasa Aoi, who I assumed had retired upon reading your message - she's consistently been releasing in 2D, so not gone from the industry just yet.

2D is insidious, training us to use material we'd otherwise be repulsed by in person. Once you break free, very easy to see that... can't help but feel torn that so much time was wasted with inferior content. Felt that JAV was superior to American/European porn, but slowly came to realise they shared similar pitfalls. JAV VR is where it's at.

The brain changes cannot be understated it seems. Looking forward to reporting on my first month with VR. First year... I'll be a new man entirely. :)

Yes, that was my mistake, sorry. I thought she had retired but in this case not because she didn't shoot in VR (true she hadn't shot for a long time), but because I confused her with Yua Mikami.... My mistake.

What I still don't understand is how you can enjoy VR, without a headset... :qustion: Do you watch it flat with double image? With a player that only shows you one image?

A 2D 360 player allows me to visualise what it will look like with the headset on (shows one image, left or right eye, without distortion) and is erotic in its own right; have used it as material only once. Was more alluding to in a few month's time once I've acquired a headset.

The mental peace from having abandoned 2D is notable on its own. Adding VR can only be of benefit.

Yes, it can be enjoyable that way. But nothing to do with watching it in VR, trust me, make the leap as soon as possible!

It's not just the 3D effect or the actual size of the VR. It's also the movement with the head. That the girl is talking to you or kissing you, and you can look down to see other parts of the body, for example... :P

That without headset I guess you can do it with the mouse, but it's not the same...

The Quest 3 is currently third on my list, closer now after having purchased a number of key items this month. Soon enough, will be able to properly enjoy my collection.

Wouldn't be able to enjoy the device properly without first taking care of long outstanding matters. Purchased two used Xbox's last year and subsequently sold each one back for a loss after feeling that something was amiss - gaming in a barren bedroom devoid of comforts certainly doesn't inspire relaxation

Fingers crossed, won't have to deal with any noticeable mura or dead pixels. The store I'll be getting them from is just 5 minutes away, so returning it won't prove an issue.

VR desires for 2024:
Jinguuji Nao VR release with Moodyz or Madonna (preferably the former)
The return of Suzu Honjo from SOD and Momonogi from IP to VR (not holding my breath...)
The creation of a lesbian-only VR studio!

WOW! I sign any of these wishes... Especially the last one!!! A lesbian-only VR studio would be awesome, but I'll settle for Bibian releasing VRs again, like they did a few years ago.... Or SOD VR returning to lesbian like in 2018... Now all the companies release four times more VRs per month than a few years ago, but instead of bringing variety and releasing some lesbian titles, they repeat the same themes over and over again....

8K lesbian VR (or 4K, seeing as that's still the standard) would be swell :D A genre sorely lacking from this space. Harem videos with minimal girl interaction aren't good enough!

Greater chance of a Jinguuji Nao or Momonogi Kana release than a Suzu Honjo, I think. How long have they been making videos... Jinguuji debuted in late 2017, Momonogi in early 2015, Suzu mid-2018. They've been around much longer than most actresses - hope they don't retire without leaving behind a gift or two in VR for us.

If one were to ignore older VR releases, those three actresses essentially wouldn't exist - along with many other popular 2D actresses like Ai Sayama, Julia, Shinoda Yu.

It's been a while since I watched Jinguuji Nao's last VR, but I remember being impressed by her amazing ass and hips, plus she's very pretty.... I hope She shoots some more.

About Suzu Honjo I can't say much, as I've been asking for years for more VRs with her... Luckily she has at least one with everything I ask for in a VR, so she is an actress I have "covered"... But I would love more VRs with her.

We've talked about it before, JAV stars used to shoot more VRs years ago than they do now, but we don't know why.... :(

Seeing as exclusives shoot so infrequently in 2D, an additional VR work every so often shouldn't be too large a task... must be an issue of contracts, fees, or simply not wanting to do extra work.

Won't allow the absence of certain actresses to detract from the great works currently available. The "exclusive" model is frustrating in its own right.
