Say you have a video. You run your AI de-mosaic magic on it. Aside from what changes you intentionally do to the video (de-mosaic) it will involve a re-encode with a lossy encoder like x264 or hevc or what have you. Every time you do that, you lose some of the original information in the video.
So what I meant was, if at some point later you want to apply your newer, better demosaic algorithm, you may wanna do it on your originals, and not (again) on the ones that had already been processed.
This actually may be of no concern to you, but it's a thought that crossed my mind upon reading your plans towards your library :)
P.S. thanks for the subtitle work you (and others here) do, my hat's off to you.

No No...I'm always keeping the original vintage video...just "restoring" like before it was mosaiced and then applying the sub and processing it. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. So that when LADA II is released I can do it all over again! SIGH!

I have found a Japanese native webpage (language - Japanese) where are JAV movies
with hardcoded Japanese subtitles > 136 pages - with 12 movies on page.

For understanding text on web page > use mouse right-click + Translate to English

Here the subtitles text is quite accurate to dialogues on screen,
unfortunately the subtitles exposing timing on screen is not that accurate >
i.e. all subtitles are exposed on screen for very short time -
one can not read them in 1 - 1,5 sec.

If those hardcode subtitles could be extracted from movie file, and translate into another, different language -
it could be useful for fans who do not understand/read/speak Japanese.

@aronora doesn't look like they are hardcoded because you can turn them on/off and are customizable.
They are most likely LLM translated (from a subtilte file?) because there are 8 or more subtitle languages available.
You can just try to detect the subtitle stream and download it. I used to use this Firefox addon:
addons.mozilla.org

I personally do not need subtitles - I know Japanese :)
As I wrote in my post - it could be useful for those JAV fans who do not understand/speak/read Japanese.
