Yeah I use mkvmerge + GUI to remux to MKV for things like that.
Talking specifically about these kind of rips, I never found the relevant 480p / 720p versions from the same rippers, nor in one single torrent nor separately. Probably I searched in the wrong places. Did anyone digged in their forum, dio8899.net? I am in the process of exploring it, so far the strangest thing I have found is that they refer to these shitty 400-500 mb rips as HD and FHD.
I would love to be able to communicate in Japanese to subscribe their forum and properly complain about their horrible works.
Look, they are paid by the casinos accordingly to the number of videos they can output per day. They will definitly sacrifice quality for quantity and gives shit about you when a few thousand others have no issues about their free copies.
When it comes to older stuff (pre 2008), I'm fine with lower bitrates, and lower quality, because I know that simply finding old stuff is a miracle in this industry. But it does suck if theres a newer, lesser known title that released, and theres only a 400MB version of it. But... beggars cant be choosers.
The low rip aka 400 - 600mb of jav is appear on almost every new jav release on today and yesterday, even on sukebei or javjunkies or javlibrary, now so what, we have to wait for a couple days just for a standard version or have to deal with those bad quality rip?
You can't wait for couple of days? Also, you've noticed better rips come out in a couple of days for you to be able to say that? Also Also (yes, Also x2) have you requested better quality rips here or anywhere else? I'm not singling you out, I'm just using your post as an example. We all know that lately the rips have been sub-par. I just think it is funny that everyone just sits back and takes all of this. If one wants good quality they either have to pay for it or wait it out until it is available. Complaining does absolutely zero.

For example: GDJU-030. No watermarks. Roughly 2000kbps.

As the title, i don't have the right to talk about the bad quality rip instead of silent, so what is the point of this topic? The place for HD and FHD maniac like you? The acctress i really love like Shoko or Momo i always buy all of their movies on bluray disc except POV movie, the other i don't really get into, torrent is what i'm looking for. I'm saying and just asking if you guys have another site or will wait so i can be sure i'm not missing something. Some of new release have better quality 1 - 2gb after some days on sukebei, some doesn't.

Once a low-quality rip is released, the release of another SD version is pretty rare (giving credit to akiba-online, this is the only place where I have found one, once). You have to hope thz group or someone else will release it in HD or FHD in one/a few weeks (not always happening).
I use to go to meowiso for ISO's but the idiot has changed capture from alphanumeric to Kana Japanese, but even that doesn't work. Has been like it for weeks despite people telling him.

I specifically said I wasn't singling you out, I was only using your words, which have been uttered by MANY, to make a point. Sorry you didn't understand that. If you look at my screenshot or knew anything about me and my long history here on Akiba you would know I never deal with HD or FHD titles. Sorry you didn't understand that, either. And all I asked was if anyone had requested anything you'd want a better quality of. Can you answer a question you seem to know the answer to? You say better quality hits the net in a couple of days? Where would that be?

This would be a moot discussion if sukebei.nyaa.se had not gone down. It was easier to find the Thz version, and even though there is a watermark in the lower right hand corner, it can be easily removed with a video editor (I use Aimersoft Video Converter). Thz, for some reason, probably for file size, reduces the vid quality somewhat but the Video Converter can downsize it and it comes out clearer. I HATE THOSE FUCKING CHINESE YELLOW AND GREEN SPAM ALL OVER THE SCREEN. Fuck them, I just ignore the vids, I mean, how many is enough anyway? There's plenty of good stuff to go around without that shit.

A few days ago, I found a 720p version of DJE-054. I suppose it was ripped from Bluray and deinterlaced, because ridiculous 59.94fps and no watermarks at all (not even DMM). Using this, I just made my own 480p/29.7fps version which is also a big improvement over the current SD versions available.
If you are patient, better quality rips will come. Plenty of JAVs out there, no need to settle for lower quality.

Wow, just tried this and it works perfectly. Thanks so much. For anyone who tries this, just set the output button to mkv muxer and save the video.
Thz watermark doesn't bother me at all, just sometimes they reduce the quality too much where the colours are somewhat washed out. They should just keep the original file size.

I'm afraid I am going to have to agree to disagree with you there. While yes, there are Hundreds of Thousands of JAV out there, and while yes, there are plenty of Good quality Rips (HD, FHD) (The largest rip on Nyaa.si right now is 19GB for a single JAV), there are more than enough Rare/Hard to find movies that are nearly impossible to find, and with those you have to take whatever you can get. Why, just last night, I found an old U15 JAV I was looking for that would fill in a spot in my collection, and I had to settle on a 360x144p Version, because that was the best that was available.
