JAV VR: News, comments about releases, recommendations, hardware

As we are nearing the halfway point for the year, I am curious what 2026 video stands out for all of you.

I don't have a favorite movie this year. For me, it's the worst year out of the last 3 or 4. 99% of VRs have technical issues (no immersion) or just don't match my tastes (sex with clothes on, absurd fetishes and ridiculous costumes, f***rced sex, a lack of positions I like...). On top of all that, in 2026 there’s new problem: 60- or 70-minute movies that are missing positions that used to always be there, or 3-minutes positions that don’t give you time to enjoy them.

I’ve liked a few, but only because they’re the debut of a very pretty actress and they feature the positions I like; as movies, though, they have a lot of limitations.
Like Chewbaka, I kneel before the beauty of Inoue Momo in MDVR-419, and also of Mashiro Sana in MDVR-415.

They’re way too beautiful and perfect for porn:

I can't understand why, when you can have incredible, life-size girls in 3D just 15 centimeters from your face, people still prefer 2D.

Unfortunately, as VRs, there are some things that are hard to understand. You have to sit through five minutes of the actor’s hands groping Momo’s breasts, but they won’t let you suck on her incredible nipples—one of the pleasures of VR. Almost no one brings the nipples close to the camera anymore; there’s a fear of putting the camera up close in 2026, which is the essence of VR.

The Kawaii movie with Ito Mayuki has restored my faith in VR, because in 2026 there aren’t movies like this one—three hours long, with conversation scenes, scenes of the actress doing fun or quirky things, and immersive sex in every position… But I already have a lot of Mayuki’s movies, and it doesn’t have the novelty of a debut.

SOD gave me a mirage—three VRs featuring their exclusive stars. Intimate, highly immersive, premium VR: 3DSVR-1947, 3DSVR-1871, 3DSVR-1933:

Unfortunately, that’s all it was—a mirage. Then they went back to their ridiculous fetishes, f***rced sex, and non-immersive VR.

From Crystal, I liked a couple of titles for the same reason: debutantes I like, in the positions I like, but average movies:

I’d like to see more with Misaki Oto.
S1 and Moodyz still haven't released any major films in 2026, Ito Mayuki's style, and Idea Pocket is defunct—the worst year in its history.

Happy to see Hibiki Ren make her return to VR. She's really sexy with a slender (but not anorexic) body with perky breasts, and is a solid performer too. Yet she has only made a handful of VRs and than dropped off. The last one was back on 2024 which was a duo with Shinomiya Yuri and it was really hot if you like cosplay.

Its one helluva comeback too. She's had 4 releases in quick succession recently and they're all directed by Genius Knee.

She has another 2 coming up with Unfinished. No longer with Genius but its not by Zampa either so that's cool.

She's a very pretty girl, and although she's thin, it's a natural thinness—not the result of extreme diets. I'm looking forward to watching a VR of hers without costumes, oils, or artificial sweat.

Following up on what Chewbaka and I talked about earlier regarding the (non-existent) lesbian scenes in VR.
HUNVR-211 came out this week, and it’s being advertised as a movie with lesbian scenes. They should really sell this movie with a free pair of binoculars...

First of all, calling a little kiss and some gentle nipple licking “lesbian scenes” is highly debatable. But the real problem is how they’re filmed. 90% of the time, the lesbian scene takes place in the back of the room, and you can’t see a thing. Even less so in VR, where everything starts to blur at more than a meter away, unless you have 4K or 8K goggles:

Just as pathetic is the final scene where two girls are kissing, and you’re… a dog? The camera is on the floor, a meter away…

That’s what happens when you shoot VR movies every now and then and hire a director who has no clue what VR is. It’s shot with a 2D mindset, where you’re looking at a screen from a distance. This isn’t VR—it’s a 2D movie shot with a 3D camera.

In VR, it’s about feeling the girls, about being right in the middle of the action. In that last scene, put the camera 15 centimeters from their mouths and show me how they exchange saliva, how they look at each other while kissing, how a nipple gets wet when the other girl sucks on it. That’s VR—that’s immersion—feeling the girls’ presence, trying to convey what they’re feeling…

Anyway. Six years waiting for a real lesbian VR movie. As I said earlier, it’s never going to happen.
