Whats the deal with these SOD Employee films?

These women clearly are porn actresses, not "employees". But they also look and act like amateurs. They act very camera shy and super reluctant to do anything sexual. I've seen only a few films but none of them have any interesting personalities. They have average bodies (which I kind of like) and they're not good at sex at all. But I have to hand it to the pervert overlords at SOD... they sure come up with one humiliating scenario after another for them.

With all the real world consequences of shooting porn, it seems strange to do it as an "amateur" character, without building any name recognition.
So are these like SOD's B-team or junior leagues for aspiring actresses?

I just wonder what a bad deal it is for the actress: No name recognition, probably less pay than a mainstream porn actress, bound to one studio, all the social stigma of AV. Plus they don't get to do anything fun at all! No dramas, no exploration of different genres. All they do is act out embarrassing scenarios.

Most of the actress are low level B tier and below actresses, some have a series and eventually freelance to other studios
