Ha Ha, that's funny because I thought the exact same thing yesterday. Looking at your lists I realized that I like the kind of movies that 2Dxxxisdead likes, and the kind of girls that Chewbaka likes.... I'm somewhere in between, or I'm a fusion of you two.....

Buy holy hell...go to the right one with a girl who knows what she's doing and its a mindblowing experience. Yup, many of the girls I like are either retired, MIA or their releases were disappointing. Especially Ono Rikka's. That was so bad that I don't even want to watch it at all.

Even Matsumoto Ichika who is very active in JAV has nothing decent for VR this year. If you were asking about 2022, Ichika wil dominate the top 10 with the top 3 spots being the titles she duo'd with Nagase Yui. And she'll be in quite a few of the other videos too.

Maybe Saitou Amiri's Moodyz release this year should have been in, but somehow I didn't watch much of it.

After all, they're the only porn industry in the world with a mosaic for 'puritanical' reasons adopted from the West...strangely enough. This is just so regressive but its the norm now.

But where other countries have pretty much shifted to digital and online only for porn, Japan is the only country where DVDs and blurays still sell well. Playboy no longer has any magazines. I think any form of 'culture' in printed form has died out in the West. But in Japan, photobooks are still a desired item. Its not just of pornstars. Celebrities, idols, and models also release photobooks. They're mostly just racy pictures with no nudity yet sales are also respectable.

I mean there is digital porn and photobooks, but somehow the physical media is still relevant. Piracy also isn't as huge a problem in Japan as other countries. I mean it still exists but the the West is trapped in this loop now where the porn industry is literallty controlled by pirates. If you're not already aware of it, look up MindGeek. Japan, there's still a number of folks willing to spend to support the girls instead of just going to Pornhub.

But the one thing I like about them is that their girls are still quite natural. Silicon enhanced breasts aren't exactly the norm. They are there but they're still very much in the minority. And there seems to be a greater focus on having some sort of plot instead of just getting straight to business.

And Japanese image videos is just first class. Western stuff doesn't even compare. They actually do make such content too. Remember those Playboy videos? MetArt's stuff is not bad though.

I can't watch American porn at all. European porn used to be elegant and classy with beautiful natural girl, but even they seem to have 'Americanized' and that's a bad thing.

I don't see this as a disadvantage or backwards. Physical media has it's place and can make sense. The result is just that you have more options as a consumer. Like you say digital options also exist for these products. Also that you have to buy individual products compared to the streaming sites like in the west is a godsend. It drives innovation and quality instead of mediocrity and filler content.

When it comes to VR porn specifically there is a new worrying trend in the west. I think VRBANGERS has recently stopped allowing downloads for their content. I don't care for their stuff but I hope it does not become a trend. That's what I would hate the most, that it all could end up like Netflix, just streaming options, further mergers of the big players so only 1-3 mediocre options remain. Sound like hell to me. I mean the western VR porn scene is fucked already but it could get even worse...

My biggest gripe as a consumer for the Japanese market is not that they are outdated when it comes to technology or the censorship. The problem is the stupid DRM coupled with FANZA's monopoly status on bascially all the relevant content. I just hope that more people will use A Festa which might convince more studios to use it.

For 2025 I ask for some real lesbian VR, and for you, some gravure VR... I think that both possibilities are close to 0%, but dreaming is free...

There was much more sexual freedom in the West 20 years ago. Or maybe, in line with what you are saying, Japan is so traditionalist that they are still living in the 90's, at a social level... That scares me a little bit, because if puritanism starts to arrive in the country...

I find it kind of amazing, considering that I only write reviews of VR movies that are much less read, and that I don't know a word of Japanese (blessed AI)....

Also my reviews are not even reviews, as I use them to ask for more content like that, or to complain about the bad 8K image quality of Fanza.... But it seems that there are quite a few Japaneses who agree...

Erm, I have to go look at the receipts again but it's somewhere between 4k+ or 5k+ yen per book, depending on its size and whether its hardcover or not.

You can find them in just about any store that sells JAV. Its not too hard to find in Tokyo, most major commercial districts will have 1 such shop. Akihabara has the lion's share of them though, and in close proximity too. If you really want to look up those shops, I can mark out some on Google maps for you.

There is another benefit of Japan being behind the West.

I very much like that over in Japan, women are still feminine. I have nothing against the current feminist movement, but I don't find their look appealing. Shaved heads, tattos, piercings, all of those are a turn-off for me. We're seeing more of that in Western porn, but thankfully its still very rare in JAV.

I think a lot of people who watch JAV, do just for that, to the point of accepting the censorship of Japanese porn.
I have nothing against feminism, on the contrary, I defend the equality of men and women in all areas. I don't know to what extent it is related, because men also wear it, but for me tattoos, piercings and plastic tits, are a complete turn-off. And the main reason why I don't watch western porn. The other, because I don't find their VR movies immersive.

The only VRKM line that appeals to me a bit is the pink line where the girls are always naked and prioritize the face to face.... But I don't pay much attention to them because the sex is usually typical KMP: slow, artificial, and the close missionary only lasts 2-4 minutes.

This looks like a decent release, and I have been paying a bit more attention to Yuri Maina lately.


Overall, the new year has been quite quiet so far. Just Idea Pocket has good news for us. Waiting to see what Moodyz and S1 have in store for us.

The Alice Japan releases are both from Genius Knee. He does not work with Unfinished. Only with SOD, Madonna, Moodyz and Alice Japan.

The Unfinished director you mentioning is most likely Mizuki Kai.

It's true that both directors often do not include it. But in URVRSP-408 and JUVR-213 they do. So they are rather inconsistent, not sure how they decide what angles they will or will not include. That being said I tend to like what they release more often than not. They are very reliable for all the other angles, that is if you like to see the girl naked from the front.

Thanks, you saved me the research.... I don't know what drives these directors to only shoot straight on. For me the face to face scenes are the most important, if there is no cowgirl position and close up missionary, I don't buy the movie. But also I like to see the actress's back and ass. I don't mean sex scene, at least a rear camera shot. That it doesn't exist in 90 minutes of film, that the actress doesn't turn around even if it's to grab something or close a window, is something I don't understand. It's never happened in the 5 years I've been watching VR, I've only seen it in the last few months with Unfinished, S1, and now Alice Japan. That's why I thought it was a specific director thing, but it seems it's not.

Speaking of Madonna @Walle12 did you like JUVR-209?

Well, not the first half, but I loved the second half, I think it's Maki Hojo's best VR. She is prettier and much more active than in previous VRs. She literally eats you up with kisses in the whole movie.... And the angles and face to face scenes in that second half are great, very immersive. I enjoyed it a lot. Mature women, but retaining beauty and a great body, turn me on quite a bit...

Yes, there are incredible mature Japanese actresses, I don't know how they do it, but they keep the skin and body of their twenties... I guess it's the diet...
In western porn the VRs with mature women are unbearable, they are full of botox, tattoos hanging from flaccid skins, surgeries and plastic tits. That's why it's a shame that only Madonna shoots VRs with matures. Other studios hire some from time to time, but I wouldn't mind if they shot some more.

I'm honestly suprised you didn't like DSVR-048. To me it had too many clothes but otherwise it was well made. I think this one has a good chance to happen. DAS will release a couple more VRs in 2025 with her for sure.

I 100% sign on Ogura Yuna. Maybe she personally does not like to do VR. Otherwise I have no explanation why they don't do more with her.

Adding to this when it comes to the 2025 wishlist and girls in particular I wish for:

In 2024 Crystal VR and KMP (with VRKM) have uploaded some older releases to A Festa. For 2025 I hope more studios will do the same and will join in completely. By that I mean that they also provide new releases at A Festa right away.

It's unlikely that most studios will join A Festa so FANZA has to improve as well. No idea who makes these decisions about bitrate (FANZA or the studios) but I don't understand what they are doing with the 8k releases. They charge double compared to the 4k release but provide it in a horrible state and it was further declining recently. The result is that you often see customers complain that no difference can be seen between 4k and 8k and this in turn leads to poor sales numbers on the 8k releases. Ok, FANZA might save a few bucks on this but what about the studios? I don't understand why they don't intervene. If my products was provided in this state I would protest.

So I hope that they increase the quality at least a little bit going further. The quality on releases in December were often completely unacceptable.

I'm not as much of a super fan as you guys and don't know all the names right away. I had to look most of the names up. So I will provide pictures. I think it's easier to read for most.

Seems I have a knack for remembering Japanese names. Side effect of following Japanese idols when I was younger.

I'm honestly suprised you didn't like DSVR-048. To me it had too many clothes but otherwise it was well made. I think this one has a good chance to happen. DAS will release a couple more VRs in 2025 with her for sure.

Now that you mention it, I kinda almost forgot about that. I dunno. Not quite sure why I didn't enjoy it as much. I guess I'm far too used to have Ichika having other girls around that I'm not so keen on her solo.

I did watch a decent amount of DSVR-046 though, just for the cosplay.

I 100% sign on Ogura Yuna. Maybe she personally does not like to do VR. Otherwise I have no explanation why they don't do more with her.

Its quite a waste she's actually pretty good on at it. I'm still watching her older titles a fair amount.

I'm actually quite happy that Natural High has the NHVR-223 at high quality. I grabbed that immediately when I saw it was on 30% sale.

Its a size and bandwidth thing. If they don't reduce the quality for 8k, the video will cost a lot more for them to host I guess.

I'm a huge fan of girl-girl kissing and interaction during 3P scenes and yes it is a big source of frustration that it doesn't happen more in 3D or 2D. Some of the time it might be for reasons like you suggest, one or both of the actresses is not comfortable with it. But there are also many cases where the actresses have kissed and more in other productions (sometimes even with each other) and then nothing happens in a new release and that is beyond frustrating. There's also cases where you can see the girls moving closer in for a kiss and then pull back like they remember that they aren't supposed to in this video. It must be a director's or producer's decision.

I understand that. But I have often checked in the past on the cast of some threesome VRs and in many cases both girls did have a release with Bibian just a few weeks prior. Those movies are full frontal lesbian action for over an hour. I'm not asking for much, but at least some kissing would be nice. They could also be more playful in the threesomes. In most cases one of the girls is just ear whispering endlessly which I find extremly tedious.

It's not that they HAVE to do it in 100% of cases but I think it should be the standard if the girls are fine with it. Compared to the releases with one guy and one girl they have at least one blowjob scene in every release. I personally find these boring and almost always skip them but it does not bother me that it is included. The girl-on-girl stuff would not take much time away from the rest in threesomes so I don't see why they wouldn't just do it.
