That's true and I've never said anything to the contrary. My main criticism with them but especially S1 was that they are slow while having 100% exclusivity contracts. So they have all these 'assets' but make very little out of them. Compare that to free agents like Aya Konami. Her return was less than a year ago and she has already done over 20 VRs because she can freely choose the studios she works with. That's more than S1 does in 3-4 month with all our their exclusive lineup. So for Aya it's a free market, if she is good at VR and people buy the movies she is in than the studio will produce more with her. Not the case if you are in an exclusive contract with these studios.
I've said nothing about KMP in that regard, but sure, why not make that comparison. What I agree on is that in general the studios you mentioned before have higher quality releases on average, which means that if you take 10 releases of these studios at random than KMP wouldn't be able to compete. But KMP releases at a much higher rate and they also have zero exclusivity contracts which is my main criticism, so bringing them in is kinda besides the point. But let's keep going with the argument. Also as I understand it 'KMP' is a bunch of creators that work more or less independent. So the quality of their releases are all over the place. But some of them know what they are doing.
Another thing is that now even the VRKM label (which I deem lower quality in general than SAVR) releases 100% with 8k cameras for several month now and they have a higher bitrate/picture quality in 8k than S1 because SIVR reduces bitrate to around 50% file size compared to the 4k releases which is a waste imo. Again, they have all these beautiful/exclusive girls but skim on file size more than most other studios. Makes no sense to me if I claim to be the "No. 1" studio.
And I disagree with that KMP is "mostly low quality trash", but tastes are different I guess. For me they had around 10-12 good releases in the last two month.
That's another thing. They also tend to make the 2nd release like that, not my thing either. So now it actually needs 3 instead of 2 SIVR releases which will never happen for most of their lineup.

Exactly. The same applies to Moodyz, Idea Pocket, Prestige... The main torture we JAV VR fans have is that many top exclusive actresses only shoot 1 or 2 VRs a year. And we can be thankful for that, because some of them don't even do that. I've been waiting two years for a new Washio Mei VR...
A good example is Kawakita Saika's new VR. I think it's been almost a year since she's shot in VR, she releases a new title, and you don't like.... You're annoyed because now you have to wait another year....
I don't know how many titles she shoots in flat, but there are many more... If she shoots one VR a month, or every two months, even if you don't like one, you know that soon there will be more... But with actresses who only shoot one VR every one or two years, it is torture.

I think this angle was invented by Yazawa Receive on those SOD VR titles you mention, back in 2020. When I watched it, my head exploded, because all previous VRs were immediately outdated.... As you say SOD promoted it for a while because it was the new big thing, but sadly they rarely use it in the last two years. Reason why I hardly buy anything from them. Luckily it's very common with Moodyz, S1, and to a lesser extent, Kawai and Unfinished, that saves me.
Not to say that 100% of the VRs I watch have that face-to-face missionary, but 100% of the movies I buy do. I have VRs without this camera shot, but they are of actresses who have very few movies. In the case of Ena Satsuki in RSRVR-042, since I have several Ena movies with that camera angle, this film didn't add anything for me.
S1 has the worst 8K image quality of all JAV VR by far, along with Aqua (which is a disaster in everything). As you say, they brag about being #1, have amazing actresses, and then deliver the worst 8K image quality of all JAV VR...
She filmed a VR with SOD VR in April. It's not at Akiba, I don't know why. Not bad, but the image quality is terrible:

I wasn't aware that they literally had the worst 8k image quality from the big studios. I thought Idea Pocket was even worse. But you are right from the few releases that I've compared they have the lowest bitrate, but not by much.
Must have been crazy times. A few years prior to 2020 4k wasn't even a thing. Then within a couple month: better image quality, better cameras, higher resolution, new and improved angles and all the studios producing vanilla content for the most part while more and more content is being released.SOD VR making immersive and “normal” movies... Ah, yes I know that release but for some reason I thought it came out early, most likely because it was just in 4k.
Maybe check on it again if you think the image quality is horrible. For an 4k release it's not bad. The problem was that they released the first part in an unacceptable condition, something must have been wrong with it. But the other part should be fine.

The cast is absolutely perfect, all four are very attractive actresses. That would be a harem I would watch. The film looks great, one of the best HNVR has shot in years. And it lasts three hours!

Haha, why are you surprised? I'm not. NHVR has quite a history of harems - loli themed, for that matter. I don't have a lot of NHVR titles in my collection, but the few I have are pretty much mostly loli harems haha.
Here's a few that I would recommend.
NHVR-216: Ichii Yuuka, Iori Hinano, Fujita Kozue.
Outdoor sex, silly games, and quite a bit of time spent under their skirts for panty close-ups. Also, peeing scenes which I can't say I'm a fan of but for some reason I'm not inclined to skip past them either.
What I do find fun about this one is how you can be banging one girl and the other 2 are just casually doing something else in the background. I'm sure the ground is very interesting over there...

OK, the bike shop scenes in this title are weird and can be annoying. Probably too much clothes for you not to mention the bike helmet. But there's 9 clips to this title and the last 4 are in a bedroom with the 3 stripping down completely so its good stuff. Just keep those 4 and delete the first 4.
But do hang on to the middle 5th clip for the novelty of it. Features the girls taking turns cycling on a stationary bike with fans underneath for the Marilyn Monroe effect. Not sure about you guys, but I certainly enjoy this sort of thing haha.

My favorite of the bunch simply cos of its stellar cast. This is an old clip and is only 1920p but is surprisingly very decent quality if you got the Takumi remastered version from Afesta. There are five minutes that are a little uncomfortable, because she is really embarrassed, and it shows on her face. You will notice it when you see it. Then she pulls herself together and is quite comfortable and natural throughout the film.
Very immersive VR, with spectacular face-to-face scenes, although as is trending now, barely a few seconds of ass.

I guess you are right, my wording here was rather confusing. I said that I was suprised for two reasons: first I'm not into harems in general, it's not my kind of content and I almost never watch it. I would guess that over 90% maybe even 95% of what I watch is simply movies with one girl. Under certain cirumstances a threesome is fine as well if I like both girls and it's well made. But to me adding more girls to it becomes rather overwhelming or even stressful. Like the classic scenario if one girl is on top of you, two girls are sucking on your ear (you can't even see them/understand what they are saying for the most part) and some more girls are somewhere in the background/to the side and all of them are mouning/saying something inaudible I just ask myself 'what is even going on right now'/'were should I even look at or focus on'? So for me it is one of those examples were too much of the good stuff is actually too much. But I'm also aware that this kind of content is very much a favorite of many and it's often #1 on Fanza, so I'm most likely in the minority with that opinion.
When it comes to NHVR-223 specifically and as far as I can tell from the previews it is also not only harem. They most likely have several parts which is just a threesome and that is also what I'm primarily looking forward to in this release, especially with this cast.
The second reason that I said that I was suprised looking forward to it is the studio itself. The first thing that comes to my mind if I see their releases is 'too much clothes' and while that is true for many studios they are #1. What they are doing is simply clothing fetish, I'm not even joking. For example they are the only studio that have made VRs with Miko Kojima in 2024 (NHVR-219 and NHVR-224) and both releases are completely ruined to me for that reason.
Her beautiful body is almost 100% covered in both of them. As it seem this is also not an issue in NHVR-223. So overall to me a very unexpected win from Natural High if the previews can be trusted.
What I agree on with you is that all of these movies have good casts. But from a technically standpoint they seem outdated to me but I'm also very particular about these things and I'm getting more and more used to 8k. These older NHVR releases had also that issue that they have a weird yellowish/greenish hue because of bad artificial indoor lighting that is really hard or even impossible to correct. Gives me VHS vipes and combined with the older cameras and resolution I can't get into that even if it was my kind of content. Also in many of these the angles are all wrong or the camera too far away. The best of these to me is NHVR-139, it's also not 1920p as you say, it's 'normal' 4k. It's the oldest but seems to have the best picture quality and has a particular great cast. It also helps that it's outdoors for the most part.
Awesome, looking forward to it. One of these cases were I was 100% certain it's great just from the trailer.

I like that, but for the preliminaries. I don't mind if the girls have clothes on, if they take them off later. The problem with NHVR titles is that lately they wear clothes the whole movie, plus there are no face-to-face scenes. So I've lost interest.

Good question, no because I was never into watching the voyeur porn or what is simply considered standard porn. Seing the guy was always a huge turn off to me and I was always seeking the illusion of fucking the girl myself. Before JAV VR I was watching western VR, before that western POV porn and briefly also some JAV 2D POV. Finding good content with these restrictions was a challenge. So for me JAV VR is the only logical consequence, it's so far ahead in delivering that illusion compared to anything else on the market that I can't even imagining watching anything else anymore.
Is Aika Yumeno back? I think she retired a year ago but has a ?new? 2D movie upcoming (SONE-430). Fingers crossed for a new VR with her.
