I require your advise, if you can spare five minutes for me. I wish to make a subtitle for a JAV with the code KV-189. I searched the sites which sell subtitles for JAV movies, but none of them had the subtitle for this movie, so I decided to try to create one myself. I have been reading this thread for a few months, but I can not use the Whisper program, because my laptop is not strong enough (old machine). I want to create subtitle for this movie, because I am curious to hear what the actors talk about (I started watching JAV last year, because of the censoring, I hate seeing big male genitals in the European and American movies, they make me feel bad... I am insecure about myself, but the censoring in JAV allows me to enjoy the movies... I know, I am a weird person).

So, what I tried is to listen to what the actors are saying and then write down what I hear. I relistened the movie for five times and I corrected what I wrote. Then I copy pasted what I wrote into google translate with the hope that these words will be corrected, but I had no luck.

I will copy paste here what I wrote so far. And, maybe, if a person who speaks Japanese, and has the time, maybe you can correct these words? Or give me an advice how to create my own subtitle? Or maybe even recommend me a site where I can buy the subtitle, if it already exists? I intend to create more subtitles for the Knights Visual movies, because for some reason I like these movies.

I find it distracting to the story. So yeah, I'm weird too .

This is how I started subbing and still use this method as well...only with notepad++. I love it.

I have bought any from @darksider59 but I did from ErosJapanese.
Not bad. They had many inaccuracies but for the price...not bad.

This instantly became one of my all-time favs.
The mother is so sweet, innocent and beautiful...and also so dedicated to ensuring that she helps her son in any way that she can.
Because it all takes place inside their house and they are the only two people in the movie, I have created a handful of different versions of the storyline.

So whether you are human or machine keep creating lots of subtitles and enjoy it.

I had what I think is my first success at using "Whisper" colab version. I chose RCT-493 as my test case since I already had a subtitle file from EroJapanese. I wanted to do a compare to see how good Whisper is. Although not exactly the the same I would say that the Whisper generated translated subtitle file is/are certainly usable, albeit based on only this one data point. I did not attempt to clean it up but I am posting it to get your assessments. I used VideoProc application to strip off the audio and save it to a MP3 file.

I've done 22 of them so far. As with autosubs created from Chinese softsubs, they vary in quality between pretty good and terrible. Overall about the same quality as a random mix of autosubs you'd get off subtitle cat, but tends to miss more dialogue.
