Has anyone seen releases for VR JAVs?
With Google Cardboard making "VR" utterly accessible ($10-$20 on Amazon) to anyone with an android phone,
and other solutions becoming more and more affordable (Samsung Gear VR, etc.)
why isn't there VR JAV releases anywhere?

I would think the Japanese would be at the forefront of technologies advancing porn?

Are there really that many people using VR right now?

You gotta realize AV titles age super fast. If they make a title now, it'll be worthless a year or two from now and even if VR becomes popular, fans may not care for it. It'd be best to wait and see how popular virtual reality becomes and what the dominant format is before considering pushing out a title for it.

Reminds me that there have been a few 3D productions years ago. But somehow it never started to be mainstream. So we all still watching 2D JAV movies.

I have to say that Google Cardboard doesn't work for me. The immersion effect is pretty low. Okay, I still own a S3. But somehow I don't think it will improve if I buy a new one. I'm waiting for the real deal (means real 3D devices).

And do tens of thousands of AV fans in Japan and abroad use Google Cardboard? Is it worth it?

Would a company spend thousands of dollars if not more on making a title for a medium that may not even pay off?

VR porn is definitely an amazing idea, but the technology is still too new. I think once you get tons of people already using it with a clear-cut format?/maker?, you may see adult titles being made for it.

Using it for harem type or reverse gangbang scene would be fantastic.
You can move your own head around instead of being subject to the whims of the camera man, and looking at the girls you want to focus on.

If anyone could share some links/torrents of 3D (stereoscopic) JAVs, that would be great.
I've found several western porn vids, but have yet to find a decent JAV one.
I've found uncensored ones though, but they're not POV, so it doesn't give you the "full immersion".

How about opening a thread about it in this section. Maybe not directly for links, but for links to corresponding threads in the download and torrent section - or external sites / pages, of course.

Virtual reality is the future. It's only a matter of time before studios adopt the technology. Current technology is proprietary however it will not be an issue when the studios decide to avoid another format war. Reference BD Ray v HD DVD. The viewer is somewhat initially disoriented although the brain quickly adapts to the new environment.

Right now its still experimental technology with no real market for it right now. In addition, Japan is known to take awhile to adopt new technology (contrary to what we think of Japan). They're more of a "why change when it isn't broken". Until VR market gets stable and has a industry standard format I can't see JAV going into VR soon.

I really think that VR will eventually became main steam. For now it only a matter of the technology becoming low cost and accessible to the general public. For now the current VR devices that are in the pipeline like Oculus, seen to expensive and given that it developed by facebook now. I doubt that they will let it be use for porn. I assume that they try to use some type of software to control what type of videos people can watch on it.

I think that VR will only be main stream until it comes fully integrated in cellphones (mobile phone). I really don't think that most people will by VR head set just to watch vr movies, So if no ones by VR to watch movies, studios will not make VR movies in a circle that can kill VR. But I think that most people will pay more to get a high spec cellphone that included VR capability and just buy a head harness to hold it.

I really can't wait to see VR JAVS I 100% agree with @hypemx7 harem scenes and reverse gang band scenes would be awesome. I alos think that i will work well with Soapland videos and POV BJ scenes.

IMO VR on cellphone isn't happening. ISPs are considering using data caps to limit bandwidth. It's only a matter of time before 4K content is mainstream followed by 8K content. Perhaps consumer market could bypass 8K for VR? That's the 10B dollar question.

I think that 4K is already mainstream. Their a handful of phones out there with 4k displays and in the usa you can see a wide variaty on 4K tvs. About 2 years ago you could only see 1 or 2 which cost thousands. But flash forward to today you can see over dozens of 4k tv in a wide variety of prices. Even as low as $500. My guess is that one cell phone manufacture is going to try to build VR into a cell phone in the next year or two in order to set it self apart from other flagship phones who will all have standard 4k display.

As for ISP. I know that a lot of ISP around the world seem to put bandwidth limits which is something that the usa seem to be trying to follow suit. but in the last year their seem to positive moment to treat bandwidth as public utility and ensure that everyone has access to it and use it as they see fit.

TVs are one part yet studios haven't announced a transition to shooting movies/TV shows in 4K. The recently announced sequels to Avatar might be shot in 4K.

I consider content to be programming: sporting events, concerts, movies etc. My guess is professional sport leagues would be first to attempt VR on an event. Whether studios will do likewise is the question.

As for programming, their is very limited 4K content out there. I seen some youtube videos and a couple of movies being listed on Amazon. I think its a given that we will see more 4K content in the coming year. Especially since they are quite a number of 4K recording video smartphones out there. If this keeps up, I think that major studios and network will feel pressure to produce more 4K content. Even its just for marking purpose. Just so they call say they have 4K. I think that this will help lower the price to produce 4k recording cameras. As price of 4K prices fall studios will be looking for the next gimmick. Which I think VR has a much better chance of being VR instead of 8K. At a given point people will get over the whole "next level of HD". I agree, I also think that sports leagues will be one of the major pushers of 4K adoption as the standard. 1080p will surely stick around for at least another 10 year if not longer, just because I'm sure that not all smartphones will have 4k in 5-10 years.

Also I know that for the Rio Olympics they are suppose to have some type of VR tour of the Olympic village and arenas. I don't think that its what more of us think VR is, but something closer to google maps. I sure that by the next olympics they will have a full and true VR experiences. Given that it will be in Japan, maybe it push Japanese companies like sony and toshiba to develop the technology required to produce VR cost efficiently and JAV studious to explore it and release a couple of JAVs.
