hi,

refer to the image

torrentq.jpg

I'd like to understand how it works. Refer to the columns Seeds and Peers (in the green box)

I don't understand the numbers/figures outside the bracket, and inside the brackets. What are the numbers/figures mean ?, both outside and inside the bracket ?

with thanks.

The outside number is the number you're connected to, inside the parentheses is the total number.

how do I know the number of people getting my videos completely ?
when should I cease seeding, and let other people seed instead ?

The number of seeds in parenthesis is the number of people you got your video completely and still have the torrent open. You can't know the total number of people you downloaded it from the client, only the tracker can, assuming it keeps track of it.

As to when you should stop seeding, it's when you feel like the number of seeds is high enough which is totally up to you to decide what is actually enough.

The swarm also tends to be pretty healthy when there are multiple complete copies available between the leechers alone.

That is, if you're seeding and the availability of a torrent is 4.93, that means 3.93 (-1 for you) complete copies are available between the leechers alone. So even if all seeders were to suddenly disappear, all the pieces are available between the leechers as a whole.
