I have been having trouble with many torrents, and was hoping that someone would know what I could do about it. As an example, I tried to download the torrent for H0930 Atsuko Takamatsu [WMV 903MB] in the Uncensored JAV section. When I started the torrent, BitTorrent-3.4.2 reports an error of "Invalid file name: invalid byte sequence in conversion input". Here is a screen shot:

Now, BitTorrent is the standard for torrents; it is unlikely that anything is broken on this end, but it is not impossible. Has anyone else seen this message, and how did you correct the problem?

Thanks in advance.

According to that error, i suppose you don't have the east-asian languages pack installed on your comp. Install them like that : control panel -> locale settings -> languages tab -> check the two boxes, put your windows xp cd and begin installation. A reboot is needed after that, if i remember correctly.

That's linux.

Anyhoo, bittorrent (the program) doesn't like Japanese characters.

I suggest either wine uTorrent or halite

Ah! So that's it! Perhaps I can see about adding better language support to BitTorrent. It would give me something to do with my spare time; I have too much spare time as it is.

My many thanks to you, chompy.

Azureus has no trouble with Japanese text.
Try uninstalling your Torrent application and installing Azureus. It will also pick up where your downloads left off, so you probably won't lost any data.
