Need correct AVI Player or Codec -Help

Hi, I'm a nubie here and I've tried to search for this but found nothing.
I've downloaded a few AVI's with MEGAUPLOAD, but with every player and codec I've tried I get audio but no video. What am I doing wrong? Sorry for asking what must be a common dumb question.

First uninstall EVERY codec you have on your system, then go to cccp-project.net and download the CCCP. Use one of the included players (Mediaplayer Classic or Zoomplayer).

If that doenst work, post a link to the video that doesnt play right, maybe it's corrupted.
