I think Japan's censoring law hurts softcores

Several times in the past I tried to find a nice softcore JAV but then I was always reminded that due to the censoring I couldn't see genitals which is a bummer. It's like watching a KBJ (Korean livechat/webcam), eventhough I know that the girls can't show their pussy, I always clicked the video thumbnails because they are so tempting and then feeling disappointed afterwards.

I know that there are uncensored softcore JAVs but they aren't that good, especially because the girls are subpar. Recent releases like from LegsJapan have nice girls but the studios' budget are pretty limited so they can only shoot in a barebone studio.

Thankfully there are a buttload of softcores from China/Taiwan/HK (Xiuren etc.) but the makeup are often over the top and a lot of the girls look enhanced.

Never quite got the censorship laws in Japan.
It's like 'stick a baseball bat in the girl's ass, smear her with excrement and force her to suck a d*g's cock = OK, but heaven forbid if we see some pubic hair'.
I know I'm talking as an outsider/foreigner, it's not my country, I just live here, and I don't want to force them to change.
But the stark dichotomy between what is OK or not baffles me.

Because law like this can't be abolished, how would you propose it? Your opponents can just call you a pervert.

Well, if they don't want to be called perverts in return, maybe they should start thinking about forbidding any media with ジュニアアイドル in sexy bikini taking sexy poses :( (OK, I know, it got better in recent years but still...)

Also, a debate could start :

1. By reminding everyone of the stupidity/hypocrisy/dichotomy of what's allowed vs. what's not allowed

I mean, we're talking about one of the very very few countries in the world where beastiality/zoophilia is legal (both privately and in media) but one can't show pubic hair, vagina, penis, or active penetration.

2. By reminding everyone that, in the age of the internet, physical media will decline more and more and that AV companies can just set-up digital distribution networks outside of Japan, thus bypassing the law. Isn't it what Caribbean is doing already?

Let's be totally realistic, the law already only affects physical media (print, DVD/BR), TV, and online platforms operating from Japan.
Unless the Japanese government finds a way to block access to Pornhub et al., how can they reasonably keep on enforcing such a law in years to come?

i don’t know if the mosaic has ruined softcore. but i do know that it has ruined the vision of a large percentage of the japanese adult male population. the mosaic purposefully destroys any possible focal point for the masturbating male and without that, neither the iris nor the cornea are able to function properly. the resulting eye trauma over time has taken its toll and is the prime reason why so many men need to wear glasses in japan. this phenomenon has been widely known for some time and occasionally there have been government efforts to remedy it. unfortunately, the officials assigned to study the situation invariably show up to meetings wearing glasses and the resulting embarrassment leads to endless postponements. so even though its malicious effects have now infiltrated into some of the most sacred of japanese institutions, it looks like we are stuck with the mosaic for the foreseeable future.

I totally agree with this carefully researched scientific study.
Here's a screen cap to add more weight to the case :D
