Do most JAV Actresses have plastic surgeries?

Yes. Pretty much every girl in the media from AV actresses to tarento and even junior idols have gone under the knife in Japan because it is expected of them to do so as celebrities. They treat it no differently than dyeing your hair there. I'm not talking about a collagen injection to the lip or breast implants either, but visible changes to facial appearance that make someone look like a completely different person afterward. Just type Yada Akiko, Yonekura Ryoko, or Oshikiri Moe into Google image search and you'll see what I mean.
 
Thanks Amerikajinmusume! The one I notice most change is Rio aka Tina Yuzuki b/c she seem have some surgery right before she leave Max-A and join S1. If you watch most her movies then you might notice Rio movies in Max-A she have more square face and thicker waist while her S1 movies she look a lot thinner and beautiful. I can't even tell she done any surgery b/c at first I thought Rio and Tina was 2 different person, but later found out they are the same. It seem in Japan people must go through few surgeries in order to become a celebrity b/c most normal people in Japan is really ugly.

Just looking her up on Google images I'm inclined to agree with you on her face. If you look up the older DVD covers with her from around 2005 she does seem to have less of an oval-shaped face and her eyes look smaller. I wouldn't put it past her to have had surgery to thin her face and/or widen her eyes.

I wouldn't say that so many celebrities do it because "most normal people in Japan are ugly." I would say that they do it because most normal people in Japan hold celebrities to a very specific (and unattainable) standard of idealized beauty. There is an ideal in Japan for women to have oval-shaped faces, wide eyes with double eyelids, narrow noses, and small lips. Many women who are attractive to begin with undergo surgery to change their face entirely just so that they can have these specific features simply because it is the current ideal. Junior Idols for example are usually forced into these surgeries by parents or managers even though their faces have not fully developed yet. It is really sad and objectifying to discover that many of these girls who were naturally beautiful to begin with felt the need to make such drastic changes to their appearance/identity in order to conform to one specific standard. =(

All right, I'm really not THAT stupid. I know of some JAV actresses who have gone under the knife, mainly for breast augmentation... and I've seen a few with unusually thick lips, so I am gathering collagen injections have not been unheard of. Heck, there is even talk about one actress who got a nose job to make her sniffer unusually large, for reasons I can't figure (perhaps you will do us the favor of enlightening us on that particular discussion). Then there was that one unusually heartbreaking revelation about Yuka Osawa (just keep strolling beneath this post for that sad, sad tale).

But see, in my protected little JAV bubble, I was always under the impression that these stories were the exception, and not the rule. Is it largely TRUE what our old-time members mostly agreed on above? See, I always preferred to believe that the Japanese actresses were more "natural" and less phony than their American porn counterparts, and... hold on, I need to s-stifle a sniffle. (SNORTT.)

I was curious enough about the one example that such a big point was made of above that I wanted to see the difference, to see whether what they were talking about had merit... and you may judge for yourself, as well:

If you're going to start compared the same AV star across her career, then please do not base any of your comparisons on box covers or even promotional still images. They're PS'd to hell and back and should not be considered reality canon.

I don't know how many of them undergo plastic surgery, but I wish no one did... I'll save you a wall of text by not ranting about Cyndi Wang (and it's really hard resisting the urge so I hope you all appreciate it! :D). The thing is (and I only need to look at some posts on this very forum to be able to draw this conclusion) that no matter what a girl looks like, she WILL appeal to some people.

EDIT: should have read the old comments, too. Anyway, in my opinion, no one should do it!

How do you guys know that isn't due to weight loss. With Tina Yuzuki it looks like her cheeks aren't as chubby.
