I'm not trying to offend so don't take it personal. I'm just confused on how they choose their porn actors. Every country around the world tend to find guys who are young, in shape, have a decent package, etc.
It just seems like in Japan, they want the opposite of that. Some of the more professional productions do a good job of finding decent actors, but it feels like it's the same guys over and over. Whereas, in the more amateur stuff, it seems they just randomly get guys off the street to do them.
Are you Japanese? Do you know how the JAV industry works? I'm genuinely curious on how they select their male actors.
One of my theory to why they use old/short/fat men is because the majority of people who buy porn in Japan is old/short/fat men. If I was a 20-something guy in Japan, a lot of JAV porn would not appeal to me because the actors are hideous, fat, old men.
And don't get it twisted, I'm not looking for models, just NORMAL guys who are somewhat young so I can pretend that these girls actually want to fuck them.

The whole idea of choosing fat chubby guys with small penises is that the audience can feel superior to the stars. The guys at home can look at the fat pornstars and think "If he can fuck pretty girls than so can I!" And also if their dicks are bigger they can feel good about that too.

But this only goes to prove the male actor is not exempt from playing a dynamic role. You are also right in saying heterosexual men only care about the women, but one does not need to be gay or a girl to make note of the male talent. Sometimes they are only good for being faceless stunt cocks, other times they exhibit qualities that make a critical difference to the enjoyment of the scene.
