Titles of the vote on FTP.
Same files mirrored on file hosting later.
I will only use hosts that were requested.
Request and access here http://www.akiba-online.com/forum/showpost.php?p=875415&postcount=689
Tiger33 may be able to provide his FTP later.

sorry did not order one question: Maguro-001 SND-26-31 SND, SND-33?
Well, the info is one post above...
If you could express your problem in a full sentence maybe somebody can understand it.

Yes i'm still trying to work out the best method to distribute the files especially given the size of them.

Closed Torrents may work but some people have issues connecting
FTP works fine but I will need to turn on the other server for this
let me test out some methods then get back to you on this - as we need this to be a simple and secure system

Access
Sent FTP accounts to all e-mail addresses I received.
Sent Bcc to all with file hosting as well.
Please PM if someone hasn't received.

Remaining Requests

Megaupload
Uploading but it's slow as multiple connections are not permitted, takes about 30 hours I guess.
If there's any way for free registered users to make multiple connections please let me know.

H.264
Will be available from tomorrow to the day after .

FTP
issue "no files" resolved, group access didn't work, not using it anymore
issue "data connections sometimes fail" resolved, changed wrong router settings
Sorry for those who failed in using it, now it works I hope.

Try with up to 10 connections.
Default in Filezilla is 2 connections, you can change it in
Edit - Settings - Transfers - Maximum simultaneous transfers.

We can test something better before next time.
But for now it could be better if you would manage to provide FTP.
My FTP seems to be slow to Europe, it's unusable for some.
I can help you in testing after this distribution in case you need any help.
For now I have just enough time doing this distribution.

For the future
Torrents could be the most efficient way if there are enough people using it.
We should still provide FTP as a fall back solution.
If Torrent works and both FTP are stable we can quit using file hosting.
Or does anybody definitely need file hosting in this case?
In my opinion the procedure should be

1. At first setting up the two FTPs.
2. Then setting up a completely private tracker to be able to use Torrent (if you can manage this, I guess I can't).
3. Then If everybody gets speed with preferably Torrent OR at least one of the FTPs we can abolish file hosting (as this is the most insecure way).

For now I am keeping up the file hosting.
We need to download somehow in the first place.
Any comments?

For members of the group order

Collecting e-mail addresses for sending DL info. http://www.akiba-online.com/forum/showpost.php?p=875415&postcount=689
Also collecting preferred file hosting sites.
I will only use hosts with some requests (at least from next time).

Everybody using file hosting please send PM.
If you have no preference send "1. (all sites you use)".
At the moment I will only use 1 site and drop the rest for next time.

Info for the ISO files
If you download the number of splits specified and are able to extract without error the file should be OK.
If a split is damaged the CRC check when extracting fails and the application should return an error.
.md5 files for the .iso files are available on FTP in case you use these.

All ISO files contain the untouched content of the original DVDs.
The file sizes are different because there are Single Layer and Dual Layer DVD products.
It's not a DVD Shrink version or the like.
Trailers are sometimes not on the DVD, I don't remove anything from the discs.

Be sure to play the files in the correct aspect ratio (which is 4:3 for all titles this time).
VLC can play .iso directly and displays almost always in correct aspect ratio.
If you don't like virtual DVD tools but need the TS, you can simply extract it from the .iso using 7Zip.

Super Thanks to both Tiger33 and Newyorker!

I downloaded BBB-05 and SND-28, both are fine. Downloading SND-35 later, will update you Jinux.

We should have the original un-splitted ISO in the folders as well, had no problems downloading it last time. I had initial "decrunching error" problems joining it on my Mac but i figured it out. So if anyone needs help on their Mac OSX, let me know.

Just downloaded and joined it, absolutely no problems. You may want to do a CRC check, not sure how to do that. Don't think it's available for the Mac also...

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........
okay, well thanks for telling me. I'll try again.

Anyone else get a corrupt file when trying to unzip SND-36?
Corrupt means you get a CRC error when extracting?
The archive on my PC is OK, that is tested.
On the file hosts it also seems to be OK if the others got no problem.

Check the following
  • copy-paste the password without spaces
  • have the number of splits specified
  • check that all splits except the last one are the same size (in Bytes is best)

If above doesn't help you can either
1. Re-download everything
OR
2. Check the integrity of your splits and re-download only the damaged one.

If you wanna do 2. I can give you .md5 files and a Windows programm to use them.

OK, I will add the .iso files.
But for slow speeds better use the .zip version and multiple connections.
If you download the .iso be sure to have the resume setting for your downloads.
If you use Filezilla: Edit-Settings-Transfers-File exists action- Resume

Remaining Requests

Megaupload
First 4 titles available.

H.264
First 3 titles available on FTP.
RS, HF soon.
Remaining titles and MU later or tomorrow.

FTP
ISO: Now hosts .iso besides the archive.
H.264: Also hosts .mp4 besides the archive.

H.264 encoding

first .mp4 version of the old 4 titles
this had bad quality because it was too small

current .mp4 version of the old 4 titles
this is quite a bit better because it's bigger

Dual Layer titles BBB-05, SND-36

I read the manual of the encoder and applied highest quality settings (encoding time doubled)
30% of ISO file size, now quality seems OK to me.

Single Layer titles NJS-04, NJS-06 (available)
30% of ISO file size seems too small, quality seems a bit decreased.

Single Layer title SND-28 (being encoded)
40% of ISO file size, hope it's better than above.

That means try especially BBB-05 and when available SND-28, SND-36
before downloading the ISO if you aren't an ISO freak anyway.
NJS-04, NJS-06 also aren't bad given the size.
If some use the .mp4 it's a bit easier.
Any comments?

Newyorker, thank you for everything your doing here.
I don't know anything about ripping ISOs but i was just wondering if it would be possible to make standard 4GB ISO images like the ones you find on bittorrent for JAV titles.

The quality of those seems almost perfect to me and they are half the size of these untouched duel layer ISOs.
