To me, it's not a bad thing as most of them have horrible skills or aren't that much attractive (if they turn to JAV, it means they didn't succeed as gravure idol, or idol group). Like the former snowboarder girl, she tried JAV, did one movie, and boum, nothing else. Another girl, Ai, from a rock band, 2 movies and vanished. To me, the exception are Yua Mikami and Shouko Takahashi, and the proof is they are still selling a lot of movies more than a year after their debut.
Yui hatano said she did av because there were too much competition in gravure idolings + low pay and strict guideline to follow if you're a minor member of a huge group like akb or ske. However, nowadays there are a lot of competition in av and low pay as well. You need a decent popularity and look as a fallen idol in order to become a popular av idol. Not every fallen idol will be as popular as shoko and yua mikami. They get good pays because they get a lot of outside opportunities like yui hatano that goes to Taiwan and other countries like half a dozen times a year. Av pay isn't as good as what mihiro said in her interview with abematv nowadays unless you're the one of the best sellers. Some av idols if not most probably get a lot of gifts from fans and wealthy businessmen like yuria satomi offscreen in private. Drugs and escorts are pretty big and some top av idols probably charge a big figure for their body once in a while.

It's a good thing to those that can't have them or any hot girls to finally see them naked in order to satisfy their lewd fantasies. It might be a bad thing to some of her loyal fans, people that knows them in private like family, friends from school, and more. Av isn't a lifetime career and they'll need to get a real job if they can't achieve higher fame and used av as a stepping stone to something greater. I'm still interested in seeing shoko and mikami demonstrate their music talent in av, but probably never since they're signed to vanilla studios and only film vanilla movie titles. I don't want one like ai uehara doing karaoke though.

Sora Shiina had some movies as a guitarist. They could do that with Shouko, even if it will probably not happened as she plays in alternative/metal band. And I was surprised that her band was actually interesting (as a open minded metalhead). I also found a video of her band about a successfull crowdfounding campaign and Shouko has her cute voice as well, I thought it was a gimmick in her movies.
Yua does K-pop dance covers from what I saw on youtube. I enjoyed some of them like the last song of She has idol clothes in her VR videos and dances a bit if I remember well.

Changing the topic a little, didn't you guys notice the market for former entertaiment stars is sorta slow at the moment?

MUTEKI, for example, has been releasing just underground idols and last release took 2 months to be announced. I mean, I wish they could bring some serious star to it like they did back with Eri Takamatsu or even Mukami Yua.

maybe a little bit, most of AV are slow at the moment, while for ex idols turn to AV are not very big since the beginning ? lot of rumours but only few that became reality

I do hope AV can attract more star and more real big names ... ex miss Japan perhaps, would be something

so true, thats the main reason I don't really care about japanese celebrities turn to porn, most of them are not very hot ... some of them are far below standart I think, and horrible skills ... obvious reason to ignore them

most of them don't have porn star material, so they are failed

most of entertaintment bussiness can't be a lifetime career, especially in modern days :D

and its really funny when people said AV is not a real job :D

I just want to see them get a pounding they presumably aren't use to, perfect skills and bodies aren't a requirement for me.

What are the titles she's in?

Edit: Found it. On JAV Library, her name's Choi Lin, and the titles she's in so far are AVOPVR-033, HUSR-118, HUSR-103 and HUSR-113.

at the same time Matsuda Miko got on S1 almost entirely off her name as a former NMB member. She wasn't even popular as an NMB member, most don't know about her, and I don't think her debut was strong enough to warrant getting into S1 either.

Of course to have "legs" in the industry like Yua or Shoko you have to be pretty/talented on camera but being a former idol from a major group is still a huge leg up.

Well I felt the same as you about Miko Matsuda 松田美子 before and during her debut. Like so many pseduo-celebs of 2017, she would (rather the PR machine would) make a splash for the first vid, then would fade away in a whimper.

But after 2 Muteki and 3 S1 vids, she's still holding up... I mean I was so skeptical of her that I still have not check out her Muteki vids. But I got her first S1 vid, for a laugh. Kinda... And surprisingly it's not a tosser.

She lacks any quality I look for in AV idols: Big tits (like Rion, Julia)? No. Generally excellent figure (Asahi Mizuno)? Well she is good looking but Excellent? Not quite. A stunning face (Atomi Shuri)? Well she's improved alot compared to before surgeries. But still she's nowhere near "stunning" beauty standard. Failing the exterior test, how about "inner beauties" well I mean super-slut? But no her persona is a "celeb", so that's no also.

So she's scored a zero on any measurable measures. But somehow I keep downloading and watching her new releases. There's something about her... a Star Quality, some as Yua Mikami and Shokotas. I'm not just looking at hot girls doing hot sex. It's like watching royalties fuck.

So I'm freely admitting it... I'm a big fan of Yua and Shoko, knowing that (1) they (most likely) have been surgically enhanced, (2) there are hotter girls than them in AV (3) there are plenty plenty of performers doing more interesting/hardcore sex than them, (4) their "celeb" credentials were weak or irrelevant to me to start with, and anyway have totally wear itself out due to them making so many AV, and doing nothing else except AV-related work (e.g. if Yua had a legit CD, not Muscat, or concert, that would shore up her J-pop creds). Yet... somehow without any legit (current) celeb creds they still have this Star Quality when doing porn. It's un-explainable, but my little brother has the final say, you know.

It's still too early to say one way or another about Miko Matsuda, clearly she's not as hot as either Yua or Shoko, but she is able to keep my interest, so far.

Matsuda is rather plain, normal and everyday looking for a former celeb. She could be the girl next door or just the retail assistant you encounter at the mall. Perhaps that is what make her stood out for you. And that trait would means she would have to work harder than most if she wants to maintain relevant, meaning she have to open herself up for creampie. geezer sex very soon if sales does not pick up. You can put her on your radar if you are into these sort of fetish.

Speaking of real talent, I'm sure your are aware that Takahashi is a bonafide rock chick who is a guitarist in her own indie band and performs live quite often. Her guitar playing is underrated, overshadowed by her day job. Tsubomi can play the piano as well :-

I shared the same opinion as Ding74ding about Miko Matsuda. More generally, new girls coming from the gravure or idol industry are most of time not interesting to me. Even if the look is very important, skills are also something I'm looking for. Those girls are very often boring to watch and are average looking (it can also explain why they had to try switching to JAV) to be famous as a gravure idol. And I'm not talking about having big boobs. I like all kind of body shapes, as long as the girl is slender or fit.
Ding74ding explained it well, Miko doesn't stand out in any field. I admit she has a good energy, she's smiling and stuff, but if there isn't someting behind that, it's not enough to be interesting. In an industry where angel looking girls come from nowhere, the competition is high

To summarize a bit, here is my though when I saw her "why would I pick her when there are other girls like Shoko or Yua that also do vanilla movies like champions ? ".

Just purely purely by chance, came across this today:

STAR-891 (debut, just a month ago)
STAR-902

The idol's AV name is 青山希愛 Kia Aoyama, she was former member of idol group メチャハイ, her stage name was 奈良井夢 (the source playno1 seems to have made a typo of her stage name)

I did a quick wiki search, turns out メチャハイ was active only 2012 to 2017. 奈良井夢 was a member from 2014 to 2016. So she's a legit member. But is メチャハイ a real idol group? Hopefully other members who knows J-pop can fill in.

Judging from cover and screen shots, her face is a 6, figures is a 7, tits look decent but not large and probably fake. Maybe I will wait couple months (2 more vids) before deciding if I even want to check her out...

they where real, way bigger then Moko Sakura's group and had a little momentum going until they straight up sued 2 of there members for dating fans, then after that they just faded into the idol background before disolving

I don't think her tits are fake, if they are then she got them done really young.

I'm a SOD collector and would say she's not bad, but i'm unsure if she'll stick around much longer so waiting to invest in her is probably for the best

I did check her and found her rather plain, with "no salt", if you know what I mean.

But thank you a lot for the info, man! :)
Definitely gonna take the second title of hers since I'm a collector for former idols. (I had the first one already.)
