I don't understand why Japan is famous for their camera and lens companies (Sony, Canon. Nikon, Olympus), but JAV VR porn looks so bad.

Western companies like SLR are releasing 6K, 7K, 8K VR videos that look incredible, real-life definition. JAV VR looks like VHS in comparison....

I thought for sure this was a 4 year old video. But this was released May 4th 2021! Head mounted cameras? Barf. That is as bad as perVRt - they make the WORST western VR films. Way to much camera shaking.

Love the rubber ears on their fixed camera. Gives the stars something to whisper into.

I think the ears and mouth is a good idea, because the girl can imagine she is talking and acting with a person, not a camera. In JAV VR the girls seem more natural that in western VR.

I don't know if it's because the coronavirus, or it's only me, but in the last two months I have noticed a brutal drop in the quality of the new JAV VR releases.

I don't want to belittle anyone, but the girls are second or third rate, and not only that: the scenes are very boring, the camera is getting farther and farther away, and the full clothes are returning... Almost no nudes in a lot of releases...

And this trend continues next month ...

Every month there are 3 or 4 titles I want to buy, but in the last two months and the next weeks, nothing...

Heresphere is AMAZING. It is the only player that handles head roll. Take a look at this writeup:

I tested Heresphere out and it works perfectly with head roll. It makes me wonder how many people see disjointed images in VR videos because their head might lean to the right all the time. All the other players just assume your brain will handle the slight distortion that occurs with ANY head roll. The Pigasus developer commented, "Our brains are very good at compensating and forgiving the small tilt away from horizontal." But surely some people's brains are better at this then others.

DeoVR commented that they plan on supporting this feature - but I am skeptical that you could do the processing on the Quest natively at the maximum resolutions.

I'm not used to having to turn my PC on to watch VR videos. So I don't use Heresphere regularly, but it is kind of mind blowing how much better it does at ensuring the two images ALWAYS converge correctly.

Western porn just looks so good because of the amount of pixels. Keep in mind that JAV is still 4k only. Sometimes i am suprised how much clarity japanese studios could get out of that relatively low resolution, just be choosing the right camera angles and perspectives. If you are looking at western 4k videos, they look like a joke compared. Unfortunately japan is somehow lacking behind technologywise. As soon as studios will deliver 8k videos we will be blown away.

Is this a recent photo? this seems like the zcam k1 pro. On reddit their was a recent on set photo from hitomis shooting last week and some guys analyzed the camera set (it were two Panasonic GH2S cams).

Actually its not just for that. These are special binaural microphones used to record audio that feels real (i.e. https://3diosound.com/products/free-space-binaural-microphone ).

I know tastes are different but I am pretty happy with this year releases. My favorites studios right now are Hunter (HUNVR) and Unfinished (URVRSP) mostly thanks to their forward leaning cowgirl and lap cowgirl their visual quality is looking great.

I supposse it is about tastes, as you say. I don't like orgies for example, so those titles are not for me.

The only improvement is that those studios now film more lesbian scenes, but they are very soft, only some kisses and petting, with the camera very far away. I want real lesbian with camera a few inches from the girls. Only one VR full-lesbian title in two years...

My favorite studios (SIVR, KAVR) now are filming with the stupid portable camera, and it is totally crap. Others that I like, VRKM, CBKIMV o CRVR now are using more and more clothes, and camera further than before, so in the last two months I have watched almost nothing new...

They are available in my Quest applications but they aren't available in the library when I use Oculus link. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to move them across or can I get sidequest to install them to my Oculus library?

Hi all. Bit of help again. After reading some of the posts on here I've installed some other players to my quest to see how good they are. Hersphere and Skybox. The way you describe your problem is hard for me to follow. So it's hard for me to tell what you are trying to do. Suffice to say that Heresphere is only available via Steam VR. And Sidequest is for installing applications directly onto your Quest. Those applications are android applications though, not PC applications (which is what Steam VR uses). To use the PC games you need to use Link, Air Link or Virtual Desktop. If you install (android) apps onto your Quest you can run them natively without a PC.

I did play with the settings, but not enough to help anyone through them. The learning curve is super hard. But the results are great. The roll support is night and day better. It's amazing how slightly leaning your head really messes with the parallax and your brain strains on ALL the other players to compensate but with Heresphere your brain can relax as you lean/roll your head. The player even lets you select the camera that was used to shoot the video! I essentially STUCK the settings to a specific studio that Pigasus doesn't support and leave them there. That studio is SLR and it is because they output 200º FOV videos that only DeoVR can play properly. All the other native Quest players only support 180º and not 200º. And I don't want to use DeoVR for them.

I don't like DeoVR - any app that doesn't charge money for a product that takes a lot of work worries me ever since I found "Moon VR player" on my old Gear VR was installing trojans onto people's computers as part of their "companion app" for streaming directly to the player. I have no proof that DeoVR is doing anything shady (I do have proof that Moon VR was), but it worries me enough that I''m willing to pay for a good video player.

Western studios let many people think that there are dozens of 8k cameras on the market. While there are some cameras, none of the MFT cameras (like Panasonic GH2s which Moodyz is obviously using) is able to capture 8k, let alone at 60fps. And its understandable as apart from VR there arent a lot of usecases for 8k yet.

Even CzechVR is recording at 30fps and they interpolate it in the editing, which is quite difficult without messing it up. Heres an interview with them

Interestingly Izugar is working on a special VR180 lens that can be used with just one camera. Combined with a Blackmagic Mini Pro 12k ($10.000) you could record 11k 60fps or 8k@120fps.

Unfortunately studios are not sharing what lenses they use for shooting(for obvious reasons), so its kind of a guessing game i suppose. Settings are really overwhelming, so i hope the developer is sharing some sample configurations on corrected videos to see the effect. My own attempts have been rather unsuccessful.

Regarding DeoVR, i dont think there is any spyware, its rather that there is a possiblity that DeoVR is closely tied to SLR. Both companies are based in Ljubljana Slovenia and if you google you can find some connections between both companies.

It makes sense as SLR is basically using that player, so i would be suprised if SLR if funding most of it.

I suppose the VR movies are filmed with a fixed IPD of around 65 mm so in most of the movies I see the girls like giants, I need to zoom out or adjust other options. But in the last two months I have noticed that in labels like KAVR, CBIKMV or SoD (DSVR) the girls look even bigger so I suppose they have reduced the IPD. Why???

Thats interesting to hear. I didnt notice any change to the scaling recently, at least with my IPD. Could you give some examples (preferably from KAVR or SOD)?

As studios often outsource their productions to different production teams its not unsual to have different quality/scaling throughout the same studio. Some indication is the director of the movie (you can find that information on the japanese DMM page of the movie, or on javlibrary.com (sometimes information is missing there though)).

So maybe studios are working with different directors in the last month?

Have you been able to try Heresphere yet? I heard people had much better scaling even when they just set their IPD in the player. I know that other players have that setting too, but it never had any effect on me.

Almost all KAVR or SoD releases in the last 3 or 4 months. For example KAVR-150, DSVR-917, DSVR-811, DSVR-928... The same with SIVR, like SIVR-104. Or the lastest Prestige titles, like PRDVR-048 and PRDVR-050. The girls look much bigger than releases from 2020 with the same studios.

I tried the demo, but I don't understand a thing... Too complicate. I tried the IPD option, with no effect. I'll try again with more time.

I want your recommendations for good videos with amazon position scenes, preferably with the gal being dominant too. Don't care how old the video is. VRKM-183 if you don't know what I mean, but Hasumi Claire's bolt-ons are such a turn off. I'll settle for search terms or pegging/strap-on vids since those usually end up with an amazon scene or some other vanilla dom action in them too.

I don't want to just ask without contributing some recs of my own either, so:

Sakura Mana in 3DSVR-0852 is perfection. She works up a sweat halfway through video A or B and there's something so hot about it. I've yet to see any 2021 JAV VR that I enjoy as much. Looks like she's got fresh scars on her arms though...girl you're a fucking dime piece firecracker, get some help for that メンヘラ if you need it.

And for Western VR fans, Anna de Ville is one of a few American actresses I've seen recently that seems to be into it and not completely phoning in how hard she's hamming it up for the camera. And she's a fucking freak. Someone mentioned CzechVR above and I know she's done a few videos for them.

Any DeoVR users realize that lately having DirectShow enabled causes huge frame dips, like down to 30-40 FPS? I was already extra salty that they updated it to default to their stupid online browser.

I don't normally enable it, but for videos that have "VR180 spatial metadata" embedded in the MP4, if DirectShow is disabled the video looks extremely distorted/stretched, as if you're seeing half of one eye squished up or something. Not sure what that metadata is actually called, but it's the difference between videos that e.g. load up in VLC as 360/VR and allow you to pan around, like Google VR180/360 videos do, and videos that just show up flat and full res.

I suppose I could "fix" those files with an FFMPEG batch command to copy them to a new MP4 or MKV file that should strip those tags, but that would take forever and gobble up a bunch of extra hard drive space in the meantime.

Radeon RX 5700 and Samsung Odyssey+. If anyone has any suggestions for other PC VR players that will always fully make use of an AMD GPU's hardware video decoding, LMK. Got an ancient 2600K that pretty much cannot handle >4K AVC or >=4K HEVC in software.

The same for me. I hate fake tits and I don't download any video with fake tits, if I can distinguish them. Sometimes is difficult. I haven't watched any Hasume Claire VR because of this.

I am not sure what is "amazon position". I know, the girl sitting over the man, but with the man laying or sitting? is it different from the cowgirl position? I prefer both sitting because the girl is closer.

VRKM-064 is awesome, and Ayaka Mochizuki is a little dominant, too... And she sweats...

I have seen dozens of girls in VR with provoked cuts in their arms or legs. Dozens... It is worrying.... Porn is a difficult job, some people forget it...

I have Samsung Odyssey + too, with a GTX 1070. I use Whirligig and Virtual Home Theater players, they use hardware decoding with NVIDIA, but I don't know if it works with AMD.
