Was Yuma Asami forced into a career in porn? Her explosive exposé on her JAV career (???)
In the Chinese fandom recently there's some discussion that Yuma Asami was perhaps, maybe, alleged to be forced against her will to a career in JAV. It turns out to be misinterpretation of an exaggeration of a non-ideal translation of a story that Yuma Asami, well like any normal person, wasn't 100% devoted to a career in porn thru and thru. 99% is way too high. Some people just love sex and also that standard is never held to guys in porn.
There was a interview posted a while ago where the actress who went in the industry just because she likes sex too much.
I went and look up the video, found one in Cantonese. That guy use sensational tone to talk about the story, but when you get used to Cantonese you filter out the judgemental color and only listen for the facts.
So that guy only use tones, but he didn't play with the words for misleading effect. But you @rice12345 did, who or what forced her to do porn? You wrote "xxx was forced to do JAV" implying some JAV industry persons did that, how you wrote it is highly irresponsible. What the Cantonese guy said could be, strictly technically speaking, could be translated to your sentence. But in the Cantonese, it's more in the sense of "Tom was forced to ask police for help [after he lost his wallet]". Anyone watching the video would understand who or what forced her to do porn: her parents did, the guy who r***ing her did, she did, LIFE did. Not talent scout, not agency, not studio. No one in the industry did anything especially wrong to her (maybe the part about eating shit).
But way you wrote it was deliberately misleading. BTW I also strongly disagree with that Cantonese guy, 杏樹紗奈 is by far not the most tragic AV actress. Having been r***ing, unfortunately, is all too common in Japan. Abortion is also very common, hers at least wasn't a direct result of r***. (comparing statistics between different countries, Japan has rather high abortion rate, and quite high proportion of abortion has the reason of r***, meaning either Japanese rapists are stupider than their international counterparts, or they are not afraid to leave behind DNA ). Hina Kurumi wasn't addicted to hard drugs, alcoholic, in prison or dead. No she is not the most tragic AV actress in history (as per that guy's youtube title) not by a very long shot. Just typical Cantonese (HK) sensationalism.

The wording may be a bit strong. 99% is more like 75%. But it's not totally out of of whack. You could also say the same about farm laborers, the people who pick oranges and process meat for your supermarket. 99% of them have a misery and shitty childhood.
My own very very pet theory, without evidence, is that most (let's say 90%) of the the top idols are well adjusted and never suffered much injustice from family, friends, school, society or JAV industry. Yes many psychologically damaged women are present in JAV, but I think messed-up girls can't get to the top (generally) and if they do, they don't stay long (6 months). Yeah a famous example is An Tsujimoto 辻本杏 she hanged on for a while. The real big example of a top idol who had a bad upbringing was Koharu Suzuki 鈴木心春, but her being a very unique case is just exception that proved the rule. Most top idols are not a child of tragedy.
If you get to the planning actresses, especially the nameless ones. Hina Kurumi 杏樹紗奈 being a middling example (she was at least famous for a while) yeah a lot of them went to porn to settle debts etc. There were many cases of "you signed a contract" "but the contract doesn't say porn" "well come up with the money or if you can't, we can find work for you that make money" leading to one of the easy and obvious ways to make money if we are talking about a woman not ugly and not have any other employable skills. Working at 7-11 can make enough to live on bread and water. But if you have a debt, you can't even afford the interest.
Post-2016, the now much stricter rules of explicitly stated and per-job contract. There should be (theoretically) no more naive girls signing vaguely worded contracts and end up, effectively, being r***ing on camera. But it won't eliminate the doing porn because of need of money/debt "being forced to do porn". Japanese social structure and lack of social welfare ensure that every year there are many young men and women are in difficult situation. If a Japanese girl is good looking enough, I would say, doing JAV is a not bad option among all the bad options. She might end up rich, instead of dead or in prison.

When I hear certain girl enter JAV career because they crave sex. 90% of it, I would say it's absolutely fabricated out of thin air by agency and/or studio. The remaining 10%, yeah may be the real girl are looking for sexual satisfaction from making porn according to her imagination what life as porn actress is. But they would quickly find out making porn is a shitty way to find pleasure. Both for the actress and the studs.
A Japanese woman in need of sexual pleasure, most of them, turn to sex toys. You notice, compared to other countries, Japanese spend a huge amount of money on dildos and vibrators. Japanese men and women have on average fewer sexual intercourse (that's intercourse for any reason, including making porn and prostitution) per person per month than most of the world. So the men turn to JAV and right hand and masturbation cups. Women turn to dildo and vibrators. Those who need actual meat sex, in the modern age, has tinder and compensated dating. A hungry woman can get a one-night stand with a guy who doesn't look like a creep, and keep her privacy and come out of it with a meal and booze paid and a bit of pocket change.
One idol who I might believe is using JAV career for double purpose of money and sex is Rion now known as Ruru Anzai. She is so lazy about everything in her life. I can believe she is too lazy to even get a one-night stand. Still I'd say primary reason for her is money, that she can get some sex out of the deal is secondary.

The "bad upbringing" or "daddy issues" argument has been easily debunked so many times. Things may be different in Japan but I highly doubt it. I totally understand the fact that they have less sex but the rate at which they do have sex is the same. Another reason can also be money and fame but to just say that there is one significant reason why anybody does porn is just entirely wrong.
Well I'd say one single unified reason to do porn is money. Easy money. If a girl is not too ugly, maybe suffer some plastic surgery, without the warped sense of sexual morality of Chinese, Muslim and Christian cultures, and considering a good majority of ex-AV idols managed to exit the career and disappear into mainstream society, without splashing on newspaper as drug addicts, prisoners or dead bodies on the street. It's an attractive choice either for a long term career or a one-time thing for quick money.

The other reason is because its illegal and where it is legal, it isn't properly regulated. Now this gets to my very private, very radical view about sex commerce, and laws and regulations on sex. I think sex and sex commerce should not be a strictly legal matter. It is a social and economic matter. Many countries and cultures in the world (in the past) understands this, even in Christian Europe, prostitution was often tolerated. What I mean is we should not draw a line somewhere and say ABC activities are legal and allowed, XYZ activities are illegal and should be stomped out. This is the legalistic way to run society. Often times you end up with some whacked out result. E.g. ABC being so prevalent and extreme, and some benefits of XYZ being removed. My view is, you can say XYZ has some negative effects, so (1) use administrative (not legalistic) methods to limit and reduce XYZ, (2) deal with the negative effects.
Specific example: Japanese censorship law draw the line on genitals. No showing genitals, mosaic. So what happen? EVERYTHING else. You get incest, r***, you get all kinds of deviant, immoral and illegal activities being used for sexual entertainment (all simulated of course). So one side it's stupid to allow EVERYTHING else while banning genitals, just the same I'm against total banning everything that's technically and legally illegal (such as incest and r***) being shown as entertainment, BUT what's happening with so much violence being so mainstream and acceptable, it's outrageous. E.g. SSNI-809 I was masturbating to last night.
Say about abortion. USA, being the most extremely legalistic country, wants to either ban it by law or allow it by law. One side wants to ban abortion even in the cases of r*** and incest, (etc) the other side want to not just allow it, but include it in government- or employer-provided healthcare. IMHO both sides are freaking bonkers. Abortion is a necessary evil. Banning it totally does great harm to the female gender, and increase social misery. BUT we don't want to see a lot of abortions, and government promoting it! It should be a social matter not a legal matter.
So sex trade and porn is the same thing. I don't want to ban it, there are many benefits to society. But it should not be huge and common and accepted with open arms by mainstream society. For many aspects of it, I think Japan sex industry is great and wonderful. Providing sexual entertainment for masturbators all over Japan even the world, and letting many women earn a living when they made bad decisions and/or on bad luck. BUT there's too freaking much of it. As a foreigner, I am, selfishly speaking, very happy for it, for even the strangest and fringe fetish, there are JAV for it. But if I were a Japanese, I would be opposed to having so so damn much of it. Young Japanese men has lost their reproductive instinct, perhaps the most fundamental instinct (even more than the survival instinct) for a biological species to survive. So I sympathize with Abe wanting to tighten JAV and sex trade, but his approach is wrong... but let me hold off on ranting that direction. He has abandoned it anyway, so why waste my breath.
