I think the lesson here is to keep doing AV for the rest of your life.

1) (Don't do it) Don't be naive thinking you're going to be a rich and famous idol or hoping it's going to be a stepping stone for something bigger. Don't get coerce in to it because it'll be a never ending nightmare after you make the wrong choice since shame will hit you even harder when you're a old poor talentless retiree. Be smart and get a good job after graduating college. Drink moderately, but don't get addicted to gambling and drugs.

2) (Do it) Learn to dress and do makeup. Even if you're not a natural beauty, you can always get surgery to boost your confident. Get famous and be friendly to get more opportunties. Make use of you're popularity after retirement and branch out or use what you earn and invest properly, so you'll have a decent future in private.

Anyway... this discussion about JAV idol's financial management originally came out of some good bits of gossips, but also it's gone off to total speculation. Which is ok, up to a point. I feel like AV idol's income and financial management should be a sticky topic on its own. There's always interest in it. Frankly I'm fascinated by it too. But I hope to sheppard this thread to not stray too far from gossips of the day/week.

There are cheaper ones and they don't need to always buy their properties in Tokyo especially if they don't want to work there anymore. Some prefer to stay off the grid. Real estate investment can be a real gamble to get rich. The 100 years mortgage really sucks in Japan especially when you're just paying interests for next 30 years without gaining equity. People might not even live that long, but the bank continues to collect interests and there are chances you might still owe money if you resell it during bad times. Anyway, the salary of top av actresses could easily be 5-10x of what an average professor makes in 1 year, so I don't see the problem there. It sucks for the unpopular ones.

She will also be having a talk event on 8/5. It hurts my gut but I think she is ending her hiatus status and announcing her retirement on this day. Such a sad time. I could be wrong of course. I just translated everything from google translate on her twitter. Does anyone have any information on her?

One report had Riko working under the name of "Lily". So it is assume that at least somebody called the cabaret up.

The wording of the deleted posts is another indicator with phrases like "5 staff working" and "all star 8" in reference to the photos. If they sisters are just making an appearance, why don't they just get to the point with names and all ?

And there is the fact that the cabaret deleted the photos after news emerge. What are they trying to hide ?

And of course the most conculsive evidence is that everybody on that cesspool known as 2ch is in agreement that the sisters are working there. Nobody contradict each other.

Not sure he is serious. But I will not rule out that there some small gesture that meant something during filming.

What about the fake semen in creampies and multiple squirtings. Sometimes even the facial are staged. Not as obvious in censored av. How interesting, we have had both regular studio and uncensored studio come knocking on our door to inquire if WE might be interested to acquire them. [let me emphasize once again, I am translating from reports from a Taiwanese-owned, Japan-based company which operate booking service for AV idols. ]

Those are pretty unusual propositions each on its own. But the timing hints that it's not just coincidence. Now we heard a third similar inquiry: a famous agency is contacting us about a possible sale.

Well, I have to say, we are a bit excited that established industry players have us on their mind with such proposals.

So what can I tell you about this agency... It's not a major company. Their top idol had come to Taiwan last year for an event (but not booked by us). They currently manage 3 idols who are each a contract girl with different studios.

When the studio [I assume he means the regular censored studio] approached us, the asking price was 90 million yens. So we were expecting an agency to be worth about the same. But the agency was asking for twice that! That's a lot higher than we expected.

The agency says they [meaning the business or the boss' physical health?] are in fine condition. The boss is only considering retirement because the workload is heavy. If a prospective buying is really interesting, a bargain can be negotiated.

Is an agency really worth more than a studio? Or has Yen exchange rate gone down a cliff? [This last question makes no sense to me]

Despite the high asking price, we intend to have a sit-down negotiation. Also, this is a crack in the belief that foreigners can't enter the industry. I know about two agencies which had recieved Chinese [he means ethnic Chinese, not necessarily national Chinese] capital investment. Yet another agency has been in final negotiations with a Hong Kong investor.

So what's behind all the movement? Is there a race to the exits by the established players? Are [ethnic] Chinese finally breaking into the industry? Is there a shortage of capital?

If there's any progress or new gossips as we go forward, I will report in here, stay tuned.

ding73ding: I know of at least one smaller studio having some titles bankrolled by a Chinese investor (not sure if he was a mainlander or not) so it's not the first time foreign companies bankrolling Japanese AV.

Seems that the boss of this agency is trying to pull a fast one by selling his company for USD 1.5 million when it's actual worth only half of that. Perhaps he is feeling the heat with the current scandal and want a quick exit.

Speaking as myself... no one actually said what it's worth. The asking price for a studio (we don't know which one) was 90 million yens. The asking price for an agency (again we don't know which) is about 180 mils. There's no way to know if the studio was worth 90, and no idea if the agency is worth 180.

The comments below the report actually involved some non-BS discussion and calculation. But I m too lazy to translate it.

With capital investment I think I am looking for ROI of 5 to 15%, so for 180 mil investment, I expect 27 million yens net income per year. For 3 active idols thats 9 million yens net income each (on average). Or 750k yens per idol per month. But that's net. Gross income must be at least 1.5 mil yens per idol per month. That sounds totally unrealistic.

Consider one more factor that I can write out later... I figure the asking price wasn't just inflated by 2, I would be cautious even if asking price were only 18 million yens.

Not a surprise for me, she never get exclusive contract, she did much less vids than Aika, Hibiki Otsuki
