Greetings all,

I noticed from the Share FAQ that the client required in order to p2p share is a Windows based client.

I only use Linux at home, is anyone aware of a p2p agent or application that can make use of the sharing protocols used here? Should I be able to find a way to integrate with my Linux box I have a ton of AV material to share :)

Thanks!

Share doesn't work in WINE, I've not known it to work for anyone.

Winny does more or less, and Perfect Dark does (though some UI elements are broken)

Winny and perfect dark are their own networks (though winny search is part of share, the inverse is not true) but there's plenty on both of them. PD is the smallest by far, but it's growing pretty well.

If you want to download from the Share network, you'll need to run a virtualized instance of Windows (try VirtualBox).

If you want to share some of your files here, the best way is to just use bittorrent. Most users here use torrents anyway; the only time members use Share is to get files directly from Japanese peers. And even then most files are re-posted on torrents since most people prefer that.

If you're still interested in getting Share to run on a linux box, have a look at this:
