JAV Gossips

But are they worth the exorbital price tag ?
It depends. If we're talking about av idols veterans/Girls like Maria Ozawa, sora Aoi, and yui hatano then it definitely worth the High price if they're still young and at their peak. Nowadays, they're still naturally good looking with makeup along with their middle age fat. However, they're more used up now even if they're still tight and expressive with their fake moans. It's nicer to get them when they still possess some specks of innocence and shyness. Nowadays, they're pro that's hard to really satisfy and enjoy even if you have the chance. It's still nice to have the real thing to satisfy your fantasy, but don't expect too much or you'll be disappointed. I might prefer someone newer and not someone that knew and probably done everything already in their career onscreen and in private. A lot of av idols aren't hot or feminine before their av or gravure debut. There's a trend of av idols losing their virginity to some old guy before they became hot. Good makeup and diet can make a lot of girls look beautiful. Nose job, eye enlargement, and implants helps too.

Besides av idols, There are also a lot of high class courtesans that are differ from your everyday hooker serving commoners off the street. Unlike av idols, they don't get shame because no one would guess they're prostitiutes. However, most of them are probably reserved for the wealthy in their secret clubs.

if people pay it then yeah, to them(the people paying) it's worth the price
Need to be safe. Sometimes, you could end up with a girl posing to be an av idol or any hot girl that's photoshopped. Also, there are still risk of std even though the av industry are very cautious about keep their av idols safe through testing and pills, but you never know. Sometimes, they got it from someone in private like Charlie Sheen. His pornstar goddesses even want to sue him for endangering them.

This discussion is way off...

By default we can assume most AV idols has accepted money and/or gift and have sex with a man not her husband/bf/pick-up and not for a video shoot.

Do we call that prostitution? That's a matter of semantics. I think when most of you talk about it, you are thinking of almost totally open sex trade fuzoku or soapland or delivery health, basically any random Japanese man (forget foreigners lacking Japanese language and culture) with enough cash on hand can enter a establishment and have a go at a girl. If you want a particular girl, then you add more conditions, perhaps you have to be a repeat customers to that establishment (easy enough). The more popular that girl is, the more selection/conditions will need to be passed, here I mean any condition/requirement other than price point. Most important requirement is manner, culture, discretion and when you get into high end, social class, and at the top, you need connections.

Yes certain Western mindset says any time some money or gift is involved in a sexual relation it's prostitution (big exception being diamond ring (2 months of the man's pre-tax salary) for marriage). But reality, at least in the East, is much more complicated and interesting.

Courtesans are that strange oriental concept that's some crossing between prostitute, mistress and idol. I don't plan to get into it... but before you complain that it's the old way and the old way has died. I argue that it's not just nostalgia and tradition. I think it makes perfect business sense even in this modern world. A girl with some kind of fame or prestige (AV idol is enough qualification) and her associates (agent/pimp whathaveyou) can make a ton of money in the courtesan game, much more than in fuzoku or soapland, and certainly involving less work, troubles and exposure.

One key point about courtesans vs. prostitute is that there's no price. A girl can't advertise the price is ¥1,000,000 and will strip naked, give you a massage, rub your nipples and handjob/blowjob with condom, you can kiss my cheeks and boobs and butt with your lips, but no tongue or teeth. And you can fuck my pussy with your cock with condom on (but no fingers or tongue) until you cum once. And total time limit is 45 minutes. It doesn't work like that.

You just have to give gifts and show your devotion and negotiate with her handlers to try to guess what or how much is needed, and of course her handlers would never be so crass and rude as to tell you a price and tell you what "service" can be brought with that price. It's not even nudge nudge wink wink say no more, leave a million yen tip for this meal and next time she will show up and give you a good time. You really don't know how much money it's gonna cost you. All you know is she (and her pimp(s)) are milking you and she doesn't give a shit if you get frustrated and give up (cuz there are other suitors) you just get milked like a fool until you get lucky, or not.

So is a million yen credible or even meaningful? I don't think so. It may be enough or not, too high or too low. I don't know and I doubt anyone can say. Or will say, anyone who has experience in this game know that rule one is don't talk about the game.

As for Kirara specifically, the same writer who sell the million yen story also told the world that Kirara is independently wealthy. She is supposed to be a bit of genius at horse gambling and she has a life other than JAV and that's partly why she disappear from the scene randomly. She doesn't need monthly vids to cover her living expenses. Of course the writer also admit it's all hearsay so who knows, perhaps Kirara's wealth might even come from having sex with some extremely rich dudes. Perhaps she loses all her bets on horse but she doesn't care. All we know is that she is somewhat unique that she can disappear from JAV for a few months at a time but still maintain a top idol status releasing vids with prestigious studios and labels.

But I think the line about a million yen for a sex service with her is baloney. Not that the playno1 guy is making up a story but someone (perhaps Kirara or her agent) throws out a line and he dutifully reports the line. It's fair game, but believe it whatever you want to believe.

So what I should add is why I doubt most stories about AV idols parttime as prostitutes. It's not about morals or pricing. The thing doesn't make sense because AV is high profile, but fuzoku etc don't want to attract attention, esp. police and/or high brow journalists (the national papers).

I am not saying it never happens. Of course I have seen those fuzoku websites actually advertising those names and photos of known AV idols. But they never last long and it's very difficult to verify a random customer can actually make the appointment and complete the transaction with the actual idol.

More believable are the story/rumor that some (many!) forgotten ex-idols who can no longer ask a premium price because their popularity is way past, and now working as common sex worker, perhaps charge slightly more than market price (maybe double). That's a totally different dimensions of the Kiraras or Mikamis prostitution rumors.

Many AV talents are from the fuzoku pool and quite a few return there after retirement, having the rights to command a higher fee due to embellishment of their new found fame.

But fact is a stint in the AV industry doea not automatically make one a sex siren all of a sudden. It only teach one how to act. As such, it remains to be seem if the actual performance match up to what is on screen. But I have my doubts.

I would pay $$$$ to have sex with Rio. Even now she’s retired & regardless of how many cocks she’s already had.

Well it might be safe to assume there's a lot of crossover between the two fields. Say if you frequent soaplands, and watch AV, perhaps one day you point at the screen, hey she looks like the one serving me once some time last year. But how can you be sure? The soapland girls are pretty anonymous, each girl served you at most once or twice (unless you go 3+ times a week??) so have you ever get a real good look at any of them? Can you be sure that nameless AV performer in that 720p screen is really the same as that nameless girl gave you a handjob for 15 minutes several months ago?

Those cases are mundane and not worth mentioning. If I visit a soapland and get served by a girl who made a few AV, I don't think I would get too excited about it.

The interesting ones are the rumors of top (or sub-top) class idols like Kirara or barely-past-her-peak type like Wakaba Onoue, or Rio. We discuss those here because we all fantasize about having sex with our fav idols with nothing more than just money. Especially the majority here don't even speak enough Japanese to be allowed into the average soapland.

Another unrealistic fantasy is that a session with an AV idol would be like an AV scene minus the camera. Or even a girlfriend experience. Fat chance.

"Hey now, don't talk shit about me behind my back while being on the set alright ? I can hear everything. It just piss me off that you can smile at me afterward. You can say it to my face if you have a problem.

Can't you just put me on your NG list if you can't stand me ? I don't believe we can make a good release together with this issue hanging around. Look, I'm working hard hopping from set to set and you will be just a burden to me."

so what is this? Kirara vs her? How did this start to begin with?

She's bitching about another person on a film set but never stated who the other party is. It's assume to be either a crew member, a fellow actress or could be a male actor.

But it's nice to see that they are human after all behind all the glamour. With their petty issues and such.

To me it sounds like she is complaining about a male costar.

Gokkun, why do you think it's Kirara??

I agree with jwlim, it is nice to see that they are humans with feelings and all.
I do prefer seeing starlets being bff like Kirara/Yua, Iori/Ichy, Rin Asuka and Makoto Toda, but any little insight in the AV world is welcomed.

jwlim80 brings up a good point about agencies. I think it was earlier in this thread (or another one?) that I wrote about all the things they do for their actresses (essentially being their full-time concierge + life counselor, but taking a sizable percentage of their pay) and while JAV stars are far from immune from drama, he's right that when it does happen, it's much less public.

I think this is a huge divide between JAV and West for porn stars: in Japan, they seem to want their agency to do everything for them (or simply believe that's just how it's done without any other option) whereas in the west--especially in USA--there's a stronger independent streak; look at all the porn stars operating their own ManyVids/ModelCentro/Camming/Etc sites. I think most in the west *want* to be be their own businesswomen and if it works for them, great. However, social media is risky business and serious talk be it drama, politics, personal matters, and more should not be announced to the world unfiltered--or at all.

August was one of the great ones already at only 23, there was talk early in the year about her having depression issues, then everyone pilling onto her over what she said, and even being told by some performers in the industry to kill herself.......sad she's gone

if you easily labeled women as prostitute than many womens in this world are prostitute :D

its already been thousands of years that female give sex to get "helps" and male give helps to get sex

won't discuss more about this, as ding wrote above this talk already way out of topic, but smart people surely understand want my point

Say as much as you want about the micromanagement style of JAV agencies over their talents, they certainly handle things better on their social network. I certainly never see any trolling on their side.

I think JAV idols are more "lucky" because trolling and hate speech are still not became a hype in japan

What I can agree in full is that Americans like to "let it all hang out", often to the extreme. I mean to the extent that there's a lot of social pressure to be expressive and to emote the "correct" emotion. And it's supposed to be genuine. So you end up having to fake some kind of true feelings all the time.

Japanese are the opposite, there's proper behavior and manner for every single situations and relations, so everyone always understands what to expect of others and what others expect of you. Everyone understands it's slightly fake, but that's fine. Japanese believe it's more important to be proper than be genuine. And because you are so used to behave according to prescription all the time, it's possible to not even have a self, not even knowing how to be genuine. Self is such a conundrum in Japan that endless books, lectures, magazine articles and even top selling anime (Your Name, Sword Art Online) devote to it.

Anyway, you need not agree with me on that. At least this much should be uncontroversial: Japan and America are very very different.

But what to make of August Ames suicide I don't think I could agree to any generalization anyone tries to make. I am sure morality nazis are already exploiting her suicide to attack porn industry, sex industry and even sex itself. On the other hand, I can't say, to be fair, that porn industry or porn career doesn't have any contribution to her tragedy. (My typical argument is that the banking industry causes more suicides than porn industry) And how much is Twitter-trolling causing her suicide? I'm also not sure I would blame it on trolling. The absolute finality of it is that she hung herself. She did it herself. Blaming trolls or porn or depression or whatever is still not changing that, she did it herself. Who can ever know what's the real trigger. Could have been she woke up with bad hair and that's the final trigger. The one and only real reason she died is that she hung herself.

JAV idols' social media are much more micro-managed than Ameriporn's, yeah ok that's true. But I'm not sure you can then say JAV idols are lucky because they don't have to deal with trolls/haters. Because Japanese internalize everything and (almost) always behave according to the proper, we just don't know how much suffering they are hiding.

Perhaps we should just keep a little distance. Yeah I opened this thread to trade the gossips, and I kinda enjoy it as a way to kill time. BTW thanks to @jwlim80 for, practically, taking over the gossip reporter role. Where was I... yeah gossip as a kill-time, but I think it's fine to just hold it at that level and not to get too worked up over it. Compared to BIG topics like politics, economy, health, JAV itself (mostly meaning masturbation) and gossips about JAV is pretty insignificant. Well all of us except @Inertia who's working in the industry.

This may not be news to some folks, if you watch the future release announcements. But I don't, so I was a bit delighted to see 鈴木心春 Koharu Suzuki shows up for download. Then I was really surprise to notice it's an S1 release and even the cover is advertising she's now S1 exclusive!

Good for her. I don't think I can call myself a huge fan, but a few of her vids were my all time favs. I was still fapping to her last release from June, and feeling sad she's disappeared for almost 6 months.

Now she's earned herself an exclusive contract in the top studio but boy she's one of many top idols in there.

And I liked her short hair look better (now she looks just like yet another S1 hottie, but her short hair look was very distinctive, basically she was Sora Shiina with tits). And... I think MIDE makes more interesting vids than S1, but I guess an idol don't feel so prestigious/proud about going back to a previous studio.
