I can't play fisheye vr videos correctly on Samsung Odyssey Plus, too (PC VR glasses). I use Skybox, Deo VR and Whirligig and all of them show the fisheye vr videos incorrecty, deformed.

Why do some new releases now use fisheye? What player do you use to play fisheye vr videos on PC?

I've exclusively used Whirligig and have never had an issue with any of the VR formats. Perhaps it is how you have your settings configured?

Like Casshern, I'm curious which titles you're having issues with

Have you tried all the options in Deo VR? Like you can set it to side-by-side, top-bottom, normal screen, 180 degree, 360, degree, and then in the advanced options you can manually toggle a fisheye effect through Deo (i.e. so if you have a non-fisheyed video it will fisheye it, and if you have a fisheye video it will double-fisheye it).

Yes, I have tried all the options in Skybox, Deo VR and Whirlgig and I see the fisheye videos deformed up and down (not in the center). I have no problem with any other format (side-by-side, top-bottom, normal screen, 180 degree, 360, degree,).

Where are you guys getting fisheye titles you're not able to play correctly??

I might be late to the discussion, but some of you are looking for good VR players, I guess for your smartphone?

I recommend DeoVR. So far I find this is the most comprehensive app there is out there. Plays videos from your device storage and has TONS of options to adjust your view with a no-hands VR control panel. You can set videos to flat or fish-eye to SBS, TB, No 3D, whatever. And then you can also adjust a bunch of other settings like vide distance, view width, slide the video in all 4 directions and even slow down or accelerate playback. Perfect for when you want to see the money shot in slow motion. It also plays a really wide range of formats. Just make sure the resolution isn't too high though. It doesn't handle 2k or 4k very well. (Not that phone even has that resolution anyway) But if you need to convert a video to reduce its resolution, bring it down to 1440p max.

The only downside is that I've had some drifting issues with it. Thankfully you can quickly re-center on the fly, but it gets annoying.

DeoVR was recommended to me by someone in this here discussion. I recommend it too. It's pretty great.

The 4k resolution (even more) is the future. 1440p, 2K is not real, too much blurry in VR... A 4K video even if you are using a 2K glasses like the samsung Odyssey Plus is like night and day. Real life resolution. I only download 4K or 5K VR videos now.

Did you ask the poster how they view those correctly? I'm thinking it shouldn't matter but the title image says PSVR. Surely it isn't meant specifically for the PS4 VR headset?

I think the PS VR tag doesn't matter because I have seem vr films for Oculus Go, smartphone, etc, and they play perfecty well. But all those rounded films, they are deformed with all the players on Samsung Odyssey Plus.

Hi Casshern2, love your work mate. Would it be possible to know which ones are SBS (side by side) Format? I have spent hours and GBs only to find them to be top/bottom format - no good for PSVR. All the best and keep up the awesome work.
Cheers from Australia. ;-)

Wow, friend, I hope you didn’t waste much bandwidth grabbing anything I’ve posted. I know early on I didn’t provide screenshots, sorry about that.

Obviously the ones I do now have screenshots so that should give you an idea. For the others I can try to hunt them down and add some info on the link pages here.

Is that what you’re talking about?

Try the Littlstar App on the PS4. If you put the correct stuff in the filename it'll automatically play the video in the correct way. I believe it was _180_tb for 180 degree top-bottom videos. Complete guide: https://littlstar.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028569032
