I know you are using the GEAR VR. I myself am using a smart phone to watch my VR. I'm using Google Daydream View, which is similar to the 'new' 2017 Samsung GEAR VR. Daydream has a remote controller/pointer and it only cost about $80.
I really got it as a joke to 'try' VR stuff, but I am blown away after experiencing it. VR Games and 360 vids are super cool. I thought VR porn was a joke fuelled by marketing, but once I tried it I was floored by the "the girl is right there" immersion. The 3D effect is really stellar when combined with the VR "look all around you" head movement. It was really freaky looking "down" at her spreading her pussy and then looking "up" at her face looking "down" on you. Some of the close up American VR where her face is so close and staring at you, is almost creepy its so lifelike. Even neater is "pausing" her, and then looking at her face, eyes, nose, hair, in detail and with correct 3D depth. Add in the clarity of the 60fps CzechVR fisting and gaping vids where you are essentially staring "into a girl" and can examine her cervix in detail. VR is so absurd! and we are only starting, less than a year, into VR beinging widely available.
Like I said my Daydream is only $80, and I think I'm budget minded like you seem to be. Having said that, my $400 Smartphone that powers my VR, has more than enough power to play the 2gb Gear and smartphone vids, and also has no problems whatsoever playing the 12GB and 15GB Occulus and Vive videos. The screen is an OLED 2560 x 1440p QuadHD screen and its pretty good at reducing the screendoor effect, especially when you give it a high quality 8gb -15gb source. What I'm saying is you don't have to spend mega dollars on a Vive or Rift PC setup to watch VR JAV. My smart phone has 64GB of memory and 256GB sd expansion, so it can hold lots of videos on the phone. And mobile VR is perfectly portable. Its like a mini VR strip club on the go!

I noticed that there seems to be some blocky artifacts at random points in this video. At first I thought it might be my phone (using Skybox with GearVR), but then I checked playback on my PC and saw the same. Here's a screenshot of one example that happens around 1:36.

Base on the 2 samples I've watched and the feedback. It seem JVRPorn's videos have the similar scaling and distortion issues with AVVR.
Its almost as if the rig they used doesn't account for the increased resolution.
I've noticed the scaling effect on
- Yua Mikami S1 videos. S1 is new to VR.
- JVRPorn videos. - is new to VR

In all cases, these videos are higher resolution images. I don't know if its the same VR rig being used or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is.
In the case of Yua Mikami, I think the reason why @darksider59 and myself didnt notice it at first is because we were so happy to see Yua-chan in 3D VR
Just kidding, I think the real reason we didn't notice it is because Yua does really get up close and shoves her amazing perfect breasts up in your face. Same thing with the Haruka Namiki Takumi video, for most of the video she places her face 2 inches from yours and her body is constantly draped on top of your cock - or the stunt cock I think this rig does excel at close ups. In both those videos there are alot of extreme close ups.For the JVRPorn vids I think the camera stays back quite a bit. So the girls stay in range that seems to be distant. There is definitely a range scaling issue they haven't perfected yet.
The Takumi sample #2 with Kimito Ayumi, the name of the sample "cry169-VREX045_180x180_squished_3dh.mp4" actually has the word "squished" in the name, so I think they realize the problem. In that video Ayumi chan does a spin kick, and she is a distance away from you like when Yua is doing her dancing scenes. Ayumi really looks liked she's scaled to a 3foot tall girl throughout her video sample.

I love my GearVR. Have to get the new one now, though, because I got a new Samsung Galaxy S8. I've been using my Note 5. Again, thanks for the tip! I looked on the Play Store on my phone and it said Skybox would not work with phone. So...I went into the Store inside GearVR, found it there and it installed right away. Works like a charm! I like the look and feel and the adjustments you can make. The only thing I can't get to work is the Airstream. I installed the program (Windows 7) and it launches, kind of. I can see it in the Processes, I can see it in the System Tray...but I can't see it. So I can't do anything with it. Oh, well, I'll try again later after a reboot, maybe that will work.
Haha! I like your mini VR strip club! The S8 is 64GB as well. I'm thinking I can try the larger files on this new phone.

You have to bring up the Skybox program on your PC..and then you can add videos to it. You need to have it running on the PC. I dont have it in the tray myself, I start it manually when I want it to be up.
Yeah, I bring it up manually, but it just doesn't work for some reason. The window for it is active, because I can't click things I see "behind" it, but it is invisible to me, I can't see the GUI at all. I have to kill the processes (there are 5!) for it to close. Odd.
Ohh yeah! I skipped those 3D uncensored back then as there's no way to watch them properly.
Now that we can see these side-by-side 3D with VR headsets, I am slowly downloading those titles with my actress of interests.
It's the next best thing to the full VR mode videos.
With the dying of 3D TVs, these type of BD titles are going to be less and less.

Now, my turn to ask for some help. It sounds as if you are well versed in DMM VR videos. I'm wondering if you can help me in a personal quest. My current favourite JAV starlet is Himawari Yuzuki-chan! from Idea Pocket.
I'm dying to see her in 3D VR and she did some videos for VROne which are only available on DMM. I'm hoping you can help me make my dream come true and help me setup my phone so I can access DMM 3D VR movies on my android phone. Any insights you can lend me would be greatly appreciated.Note: I have no problems paying for the videos legally. Although, I don't know how we got the DMM exclusive Yua Mikami S1 VR videos. Did someone find a way to circumvent the DMM method? I know on Pornbay.org that all the JVRPorn.com videos are downloadable there now, and I also see quite a lot of the AfestaVR content as well. Is there a section for DMM VR videos you can download via torrent?
Here's where I'm at so far in my quest for Japanese VR (Afesta and DMM).
1) First I could not access Afesta TV from where I am in North America. I could go to the http://www.afesta.tv/vr/, but pictures and thumbnails were always blocked.
2) The next step was to sign up to a VPN service. I now have NordVPN for 2 years for $60 bucks, and have installed in onto my PC. Now I've tried accessing VPN in Japan and it works great. And it defaults to google.co.jp when I try and access google.
3) Now using the Japanese VPN, I can now go to http://www.afesta.tv/vr/ and see all the content. I've signed up for a valid LPEG account, and I can use my regular north american credit cards to add points to my account. Very hassle free.
4) Now that I have full access to Afesta/VR, I like to go download all the sample videos and see if something looks good. I'm a bit picky because I do know alot of content is there for download via shares or torrents, and I don't want to waste my dollars. However its very nice to see a girl you like and be able to freely buy her videos when you want. I don't mind supporting the VR companies and VR girls I like with real dollars.
5) I do all my Afesta shopping on PC and I download the highest quality available to my PC, thats not DRM locked. Right now I'm just downloading the GEARVR versions and they sit on my hard drives and I use Skybox VR airstream to watch them on my Mobile VR headset whilst sitting in bed.
(I pity you Vive and Rift people who have to sit next to a computer desk. ) If the video stutters because its too high quality, I transfer directly to my phone's SD card and watch them direct.6) On Afesta/VR i avoid the PC versions because they seem to use some LPEG codec that requires D-Player?!?!
7) Now that I have a Japanese VPN, I find that I'm no longer GEO-blocked from the DMM site as well.
8) I've made a DMM account and I see that DMM seems to accept paypal. I haven't done it yet, but it looks like I can use paypal to buy a bucket of points, just like Afesta/VR, and then pay for the DMM VR videos I want from that bucket of points.
I mention Paypal, because I didn't think DMM accepted non-japanese credit cards. Correct me if I'm wrong.
9) THIS IS WHERE I'm a bit stuck and don't know what to do next. If this was the Afesta site, I would just download the movies I've purchased, DRM free, to my PC and then move the files around freely, and watch them with Skybox. However, its my understanding that DMM VR videos, are DRM locked, require me to download the videos directly to my smartphone via an APP, and also use a special mobile player to view the videos. This is what I was referring to earlier when I said "smartphone bullshit".
10) I'm guessing here, that I need to
- a) make my android phone use my Japanese VPN (There is a NordVPN android app)
- b) somehow make my phone access the japanese google play shop (example here: https://github.com/SchoolIdolTomodachi/SchoolIdolAPI/wiki/How-to-install-Japanese-apps? )
- c) download the DMM movie VR Player App for android.
- d) Signin to my DMM account so I can see what VR movies Ive purchased. and then download or stream those movies to my phone.
So can you give me any helpful tips here with what to do @Casshern2 ?
If the answer is "I dont buy my DMM videos and I just download them for 'evaluation' here" that is also acceptable lol Thanks in Advance.

JVRPorn support says they have fixed the errors with their subscription process with CCBill.
I'm going to hold off for now, and see how they continue to update their site with 2 videos per week. If they are true to their word, and maintain their quality and output, and uncensored, then I plan to support them with an annual subscription.

I made the bold move to purchase a membership JVRPorn. A mistake of course as all the movies are utter shit, which I feared before I got the membership.

Yup, I should have done that, downloaded the torrents that is. But to be honest, I kind of wanted to do the right thing and support them. I've paid for all my other VRs. In other words I have/I've had memberships to ALL american/european sites. And yeah I DID read your warning

As far as I know there are only that one (3DSVR-0076) and the one you mentioned in 60fps. Funny thing is that I had already bought that clip, only becuase I fell in love with Kaho Shibuya's gorgeous face
