I can't speak for all the forums here, but for the ones I follow that really isn't terribly practical. Translating from Japanese into English for the titles of many videos is problematic at best, contentious most of the rest of the time, produces ridiculous phrases on occasion, and is downright useless in some cases.

The problem is that language and culture go hand-in-hand, and when you've got two variables on one side of the Pacific and two entirely different ones on the other developing for centuries virtually independent of each other, you end up with "round hole square peg" translation scenarios. Machines can't handle it properly--if anyone knows a good online translation site please let me know--and good translation is a difficult task for which people get paid quite handsomely.

The very best one can hope for would be for a native English speaker who is *intimately* fluent in Japanese (language AND culture AND history to boot) to spend time trying to get a best approximation of not only the words but also the idea translated into English. My brother has been a professional translator for a government office here in Asia for over a decade, and I've seen the amount of head-scratching he has to do to "get it right," while his non-native colleagues foolishly argue over his interpretation based on their limited understanding of Western language, culture, and history.

I personally believe the efforts made by many members here to hone a translation of a title is sufficient--and much appreciated as a bonus service to this community--but to make this a requirement would be an unnecessary and onerous policy change.

That being said, let me add my voice to yours encouraging people to at least give it a shot when they're able! I find it fascinating reading posts of people trying to nail down a good translation of a title, and even more fascinating seeing knowledgeable people pick apart nicknames of models and actresses!

as I read it, I thought he meant in English, in here on the titles and the body of the post, where some members only post in Japanese, if I have misunderstood I apologize
If it is the posting in here they all supposed to be in English, other translations can be put in as well
