[Yamamoto Atsuji] Elf 17

After the mention of this series in the anime discussion section, I searched a bit, and found out that a manga was done before. This was pretty easy to get from Share (something I haven't seen in months).

The manga was done in 1985-1987, three prints exist, this one is the 1991 print in 4 volumes. Looks like a pretty nice sci-fi comedy manga, with a lot of action. Watchout the ridiculous tentacle aliens of the first volume!
That makes me want to see the OVA adaptation even more. :notagain:

[Yamamoto Atsuji] Saishu Kyoushi

Another manga from the same author, in two volumes. The anime adaptation is known on the west as "Ultimate Teacher", and covers only the first volume. And indeed we have a powerful teacher literally fighting to impose respect to his school. Lots of humour and fightings here. Will the main girl protagonist be able to succeed against him, and overcome her underwear problem ? :prance:

[MEE] Kotetsu no Daibouken

This thread slowly evolved into a manga collection, similar to the "hentai" thread I started before.

I'll put some mangas used as a base for anime (mostly OVAs and movies), I can't upload everything so it will be done according to my personal liking.
Ecchi stuff gets priority of course :nosebleed:

This one was adapted into a 2 OVA series by Daiei, which is known for his adult anime production. It's a curiosity since the anime has fanservice at best, far from the tentacle sex of Twin Dolls & La Blue Girl ! We follow the adventures of Kotetsu, the titular sword-skilled heroine, in a mix of sword/martial arts fighting against spirits/demons, with a touch of ecchi of course.

The manga is quite similar, except that it runs longer. Occasional very sexy scenes pop up, and the ecchi level slowly rises as the heroine girl seems to grow (physically and mentally). The ninth and last volume can actually qualify for hardcore manga.

[Azuma Hideo] Nanako SOS

The tale of an innocent esper girl, exploited by a young mad (and perverted) scientist, trying to give justice around the town with her superpowers. This work is very interesting because it is one of the foundations of the "lolicon" movement. The original publication ran between 1980 and 1986.

Nanako is constantly harassed (mentally and physically) by her comrades or by the villains, gets rather easily in sexy outfit or even naked. There are no real sexual situations, but the stories are rather perverted. The overall perverted ambiance and the cute look of the prebubescent girl paved the way for more explicit material like the Uchiyama Aki works.

It was adapted into a TV anime (!), which toned down a lot the lolicon factor, leaving the gags and the cuteness of the heroine. She is still being exploited, but in a more subtle way. The anime was also exported to europeans countries like France (yeah!) and Italy.

[Mikuriya Satomi] Nora

A futuristic tale set in ... 2012 (!). The main plot seems to be a fight between oppressive government and resistance, leaded by the titular heroine. The drawings are very well done and realistic.

The manga itself dates from the 80s, and was adapted into two OVAs in the early days of the video market, and they are virtually unknown to the public.

[Ooshima Yumiko] Wata no Kuni Hoshi

Literally "the Star of Cottonland", this shoujo manga is about a young catgirl called "Chibi-Neko" who ends up living with humans. She has a human body, except cat tail and ears. You can see her discovery of the human world, as she behave just like a cat.

It won the Kodansha Manga Award in 1978 for best Shoujo (despite not being published by Kodansha!), and was adapted into a more widely known anime movie in 1984. This work was probably responsible to the birth of the nekomimi and all animal-girl fetish.

Nevertheless, after watching a bunch of pages, I get much confused about what is going on. This was drawn in a typical old-fashion Shoujo style, with the lack of background drawings especially. The character faces and bodies do not look good either. The anime looks even greater in comparison! So it's more an historical thing to watch this manga than to except an awesome "lost" piece of work.
