August 16, 2022: Arina Hashimoto 橋本 ありな has changed her name to Arina Arata 新 ありな (literally New Arina) and departing from Faleno to Moodyz. Her new title is SUPER STAR welcome back！！ 大型移籍 新ありな 二ヶ月間密着 大禁欲・覚醒4本番スペシャル！！

The words "welcome back" highlights she was one of the original super star trios who was headhunted by Faleno out of S1 (which is together with Moodyz under the same umbella corporation CA). After exactly 2.5 years Arina is returning to CA.

Personal comment: I hope Moodyz will give her more interesting plots and roles to play as. She is very beautiful but S1 and Faleno both gave her such boring "planing" 企画. BLEH. Moodyz isn't hugely better than S1, but there's a little hope.

This is neat news! I love pun names (as my obsession with Monbu Ran / Montblanc might demonstrate. )

So, after moodyz snap Hashimoto Arina, i think they lost one of their original star, Nanasawa Mia, there is no new video of her in November, and also moodyz also drop Nanasawa Mia from their pick up artist list, so we wait and see where is the new studio for Nanasawa Mia, my guest is she will be a freelancer. Oh, Come ON!! Yua Mikami announced retirement on Aug 15 (her 30th(?) birthday) and no one talk about it?

Even if few people openly admits to be her fan,... well I will, I declare (again) I'm her fanboi and yes I admit too many of her works are quite boring... anyway even if you aren't her fan, you have to accept she's a big deal of the industry. Her retirement will mark the end of an era, the Age of Yua.

And she is having the most extravagant retirement send off in JAV history. Most idols retired without any noise, only a few respected one would get a retirement video. And only a handful (I'd be surprised if there are three cases already) get to have multiple retirement videos for a single retirement (not counting re-retirements). And that's by multiple studios each giving the same idol her studio-specific retirement vid.

I think Yua Mikami will be the first ever idol to get multiple retirement vids by the same studio for a single retirement. Starting next month's release (presumably) each title will be a countdown of days until her retirement, starting at minus 126 days. And there's already vague murmur that each title will be special. (starting with a 170 mins vid for a retirement announcement?)

So pretentious, so extravagant, so in-your-face, full-of-myself, so Yua Mikami. I LOVE IT.

I'd like to know what that's really about. Could be someone didn't get their bribe or a power struggle between local mafias, or maybe it's the old anti-porn lobby looking for more blood to draw. AFAIK it never sounded like SODLAND even offered any real sexual services/operated as a brothel or parlor. I thought it was mostly a place for fans/clients to meet some JAV stars and get the escorting contact details from them in person, jerking off in private peepshow booths at most. So it seems particularly gratuitous to go after SOD through SODLAND.
I guess SOD strictly adhered to the new anti-porn law so they couldn't go after the company that way and had to come up with this.

IMO she wasn't trying to make make some sort of statement on the definition of prostitution, she was just saying that while she was ok with shooting porn videos she might not be comfortable with "traditional" whoring. Not all types of sexwork/prostitution suit every "sexworker", even if she's likely lying and is on the dick grind every day as it would be exceptionally rare for people in this line of work to leave money on the table like that. Most pornstars do porn to advertise and improve their "traditional" prostitution business (get clients more easily, charge higher rates thanks to the porn fame).

Most would rather sell overpriced handjobs in a safe massage parlor than tricking on the streets.

And do you really buy that the "authorities" only realized some dubious license was missing now, after SODLand had been in operation and advertising worldwide for years? It's been on various forums, but to me she is boring and I just don't follow her work. The whole thing seems like a marketing scheme. She can come back whenever she wants just like many others.

Yeah~~ a very good question... let's see... of course all her titles are gorgeous to look at, but ehh... my favs? she's made over 70 JAVs, at least some titles memorable ones? Something to re-enjoy and re-fap, hmm... it's very difficult!

Maybe SSNI-101? It's one that I remember... She was teasing the viewers with lots and lots of costume malfunctions and I remember tremendous difficulty to finish watching her pre-(full)-nudity scenes. It's also a good example of her egoistic style, of forcing studio to make a bigger production and giving her special treatment.

Yeah... over 70 titles and I struggle to find ones that I would watch again. I think... I'm fanboi of her persona, not necessary a big fan of her JAV titles. I love that she works so hard (starting with AKB48) and she had so many failed efforts (remember the K-pop thing?) and she kept trying and found her current success. But her JAV career, hmm... I always watch her monthly release and expecting maybe this will be a good one. But always... her JAV are never bad, but how good are they? I guess I'm saying her JAVs are a disappointment.

Compared to other super-idols of her era... RION, Shoko Takahashi etc. Or even a few other idols who were at least a full rank below her, say Aimi Yoshikawa, Meguri, Asahi Mizuno, (some are accused of being lazy and/or boring too) I can easily come up with several titles that I go back to watch over and over again.

Yua Mikami puts up a (fake) persona that she's very talented but she hardly ever make a JAV with interesting plot development. Even super lazy RION, who has difficulty to memorize a single line, had made a couple plotted titles, which were some of my favs (I love clunky actings in JAV) .... AHHH yes I remember a good one of Yua's SSNI-916... that's one I do watch over again... she had some good acting in that one.

Of course taste for JAV are not the same for everyone, but out of over 70 titles, these 4 are the one that I liked the most. All the others are below average compare to other JAV Stars release. Maybe it's because she was with S1 and this would have been different if she was with Attackers, SOD or Sharks, I dont know.

Her path to JAV was legendary lore by JAV standard (the average performer came out of nowhere and disappear into nowhere within a year). But no I don't think it works like "oh I heard of her from J-pop and wow now can see her naked and sucking dicks!" Because Japan's definition of celebrity is so board and threshold for pseudo-moral-outrage is so low that it's impossible to know all celebs and outraged by the daily scandals.

Typically you first hear of this person when there's a celeb-turned-JAV from the announcement/news/rumor of her JAV debut. You have to rely on the debut itself to inform you that "she's a lit celeb, trust me!" But to me, a washed-out backup dancer of a pretend-J-pop group (sorry if I insulted SKE48 fandom here) isn't really worth a lot of attention.

So yes she has a very pretty (surgically enhanced) face, a very nice figure (assumed to be augmented) and lit (by special generosity) celeb creds. But these advantages are not super rare. These only launched her career not made it. Other girls with such advantage typically leave the industry after 1-2 years. Especially the celeb-to-JAV sensational boost can fade away in as little as three months. Her debut was ingeniously and meticulously engineered to both milk the sensation boost and elevate herself to sustainable JAV stardom.

I believe at least two other JAV performer tried to replicate Yua Mikami's JAV launch: UNPAI うんぱい and Asumi Mirai 明日見未来.

She is not just retiring on her own terms, she's making it an epic spectacle, maybe as part of marketing strag to boost her social media empire. I'm pretty convinced she had an affair with NEWS (a much more legit J-pop boy band) band member was a career move. So it's possible to speculate this grand retirement is also a boost to promote her next career move.

Yua Mikami, with respect to her fans, is not a big deal. She won't be missed except by her fans.
There won't be a void unlike Ayumi Shinoda and Ai Uehara to this day.
Maybe that's why no one notice or care as much?

Again this is my personal opinion.

She is no Ai Uehara, Asahi Mizuno(anyone calling her lazy is weird), Hibiki Ootsuki, Ayumi Shinoda, Aika, or a Julia. Not a Tsubomi, Abe Mikako
Karen Kaeda or Ichika Matsumoto. Not a Kurea Hasumi, Yu Hatano, Reiko Kobayakawa, not a Nao Jinguuji, not a Mako Oda, she's no Ai Sayama, no Atomi Shuri, Tsujii Honoka, etc, etc, etc

Again this is my personal opinion.

Her fans deserves more credit than her because she's a rather boring actress in boring movies.
So the fans are the REAL stars here

If this sounds harsh, it might, but the JAV actresses I mention destroys Yua Mikami, except maybe Julia who rather bland since the last 5 years.

Anyways, FAN APPRECIATION is a real thing and if she believe in that, she should visit every fan and give them a handjob for all their support. Because 1. it might be the best acting job of her career and 2. it would make it the best movie she ever done lol
