Something like that for JAV would be nice.
Unfortunately I didn't have much time the last few years and I'm not sure if that will change in the near future.

As lovely as the screenshots for this and other applications look my reality is, I would practically never have the opportunity to outright enjoy such interfaces. So, I’ll have to be content with coding something basic myself if I want to stay away from just a boring old Excel file.
It sure is nice seeing all the things that could be used, though, so keep those examples coming! Much appreciated.

May I ask why you never would have the opportunity to enjoy programs like that?
Beside the fact that no program like that currently exists for JAV, I mean.
I know what foot traffic is. But what do you mean by that in that context? Other family members using your computer(s)?
Ah, okay, I understand.
But maybe you have a smartphone or a tablet. That Japanese Media Manager, e.g., consists of a server component as well as a program for PC, but also a program for smartphones / tablets. Means in this case you would be able to let the server run as a service on the PC (I guess that would be possible) while using smartphone/ tablet for using the program. In this case you can to places wherever your WLAN is reachable. 
Wait... your computer is located in a main room. Watching JAV must be like mission impossible for you

I've actually been using a thing I wrote personally that looks in a folder specified for things that look like JAV serials and then uses the serials to scrape JAVLibrary, and then you can use that to rename/move the files and save them with a cover image and JSON metadata file. I've been thinking about expanding it to include a kind of library thing although it looks like the tagu project may already be doing a lot of that.
Does the database exist online now/are you allowed to use it in programs? If not, are there other good sites I could use a serial number to search for info about releases, preferably with the original Japanese info? Scraping JAVLibrary works fine but I find it misses movies from smaller studios or that are older.
Also, is my program something other people would use? I've been keeping it to myself but it pretty much does what I intended it to.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the database". If you mean my program: No, it's not completed yet. I don't have much time - or should I say: I didn't have much time. But I started working on it again last weekend. Anyway a public version won't be released anytime soon as it also would include updates of the programs (I mean a mechanism) as well as committing data to the main database so other users can also used it / can get it via a database update.

Ah, okay, so it's simply the movie code.
The only online resources I know are DMM, R18.com, JAVLibrary and Sougouwiki. And none of them has a interface or something like that.
But I'm planning to implement a RESTful interface into my program, so other programs can query the database, too. The responses will be available as JSON and XML (the binary data like images will - of course - still be binary data). This way it will also be possible to support e.g. XBMC.
Well, I'm scraping JAV Library already; no reason I couldn't scrape those others. R18 has a pretty weak selection so that one seems like a loser but DMM might be good. I've never even heard of Sougouwiki.
The thing is that JAVLibrary has an unambiguous serial search (they kind of obscure it through the URLs but it's there) whereas I don't see that on DMM. Sougouwiki also doesn't seem to have individual pages for the movies which makes scraping harder.
Actually JAVLibrary is relatively easy to scrape because it has the serial search and it has CSS classes that identify the various information on the page.
