Shallow topics will always receive shallow replies. That's the way conversation works.

Adult Video market started around 1979. Did you watch enough videos from the old times to have an impression that things have changed since?

That is a good question imho.

And what do you call a japan blog? This place? :scared:

adult films has been around as long as people could record them, even 2000+ years ago, they had adult pictures, and drawings, carvings, and also most subjects were covered, I mean Greek gods with animals etc, like the Minotaur, half man, hall bull (now thats some bull sh** for you)

I knew you'd get some legit replies eventually; some of us just wanted a little fun first!
Check out dmm.co.jp, you should be able to find a particular studio's output (eg: Rocket) and come to some informed conclusions yourself.
Also, we are quite lovable once you get to know us :gayprance:

1979, that shall be interesting, but I suppose that would be really hard to find online?

Anyway, I haven't seen porn that old, not even before 2003, except for a couple of uncensored ones. I read a claim online a while ago that "scouting"? was not as good as it is now, making the actresses back then, less attractive than current ones, anyway, I'm a bit curious about early works.

The early video releases were ports of Nikkatsu "Pinku Eiga" movies, and foreign "porn" movies. I don't really know when the first true direct-to-video productions came out, but I'd say around 1982.

And yeah this stuff is hard to find, unless it was re-released on DVD.

:puzzled: I think is is normal Jav evolve in a different sense of western adult industry, actually it is pretty simple 'cause of the "mosaic censoring" what in first were supposed to refain in some way Jav got diflected and now has stimulated a whole generation of director.

Add to that the total absence of judeo-christian guilt (more known as sex is sin) and you get the result

Were western porn industry is stuck in the eternal chase for "freshmeat" (but there is exeption i am thinking of girlfriend video, dorcel movies and the huge now kink)

PS : sorry for my poor English

folks

older movies seem to pretty lame? when did the jav the way we see it now start?

thx

First of all, those "older movies" you're referring to may be the pinku eiga (pink films) which have been made since the early-1960s. One example is Satoru Kobayashi's Flesh Market (Nikutai Ichiba, 1962) which is generally considered to be the first movie into this genre.

JAV really made it big when VCRs became popular in Japan in the 1980s. :hero:
