What happened?

Hello

I just downloaded the latest version of K-Lite codec pack. Since doing so Media Player Classic isn't behaving itself.

I seems to have stripped MPC down to it's most basic form. I can no longer capture images or create thumbnails. I can't even select MPC to 'open with' in the right-click menu (sorry for my lack of technical terms).

Anyone able to help?? Thanks

Your settings were probably just overwritten.
Go to Options -> Playback -> Output and change renderer.
I use renderless VMR9.

As for the 'Open with' function, just open it through the context menu and direct it to MPC manually once and the entry should remain there for quick access for files of the same type.

I can't even do what you suggested since it seems my options menu has also been diminished....

That looks very old.
You seem to have downloaded an obsolete version.
Get the newest one on their site: http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/index.html
