Just a comment. If the files you found have an AVI container, they should belong to this thread:

This thread is meant for streaming videos found on places like Nicovideo (or Youtube even), and I don't think you can find AVI files in such places.

Let me propose two obscure videos today.

The first is a TV special from December 1988 called がんばれ！盲導犬サーブ or "Ganbare! Moudouken Saabu". It's about a blind dog called サーブ (I put Saabu since I was not sure about the romajization, could be Serve which is an odd name for a dog, but it's Japan after all lol). This dog lived in the real world, and died shortly before the anime production:

The second video is really weird. 小学生の誘拐防止 ユミちゃんあぶないよ！ or "Shougakusei no Yuukai Boushi - Yumi-chan Abunai yo!" is an educational anime against kids kidnapping (!). This short video was even produced by Studio Pierrot, and was probably commissioned by some governemental agency.

Ganbare! Moudouken Saabu dl permanently is aborted by MU, I already tried about 10 times, first the dl is at max speed of kB/sec without any progress, then it´s always aborted. I only managed to get 9.86 MB of it.

It seems to be a problem with MU servers. Let's just wait some hours to see if the server works later because right now it says that the file is temporary unavailable.

Originally I downloaded all episodes as two flv-files, and converted it to AVI because it is easier to work with avi then flv.

Karaoke Senshi Mike-jirou (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=189) is a goofy 20 episode TV series from 1994. Many English language references to it incorrectly call it "Karaoke Senshi Mike-tarou." The show is a typical "hard work & guts" comedy about a young boy facing obstacles, opponents, and making friends on his journey to become a master karaoke singer. Most of the episodes are in 512x384 mp4 format. Episodes 12, 16 & 17 are 320x240 FLV format. That's the way they are on Nico Nico Douga.

The mecha fans should dig this. The Soukou Kyoshin Z-Knight anime (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=7681) was two short episodes released exclusively on VHS as a pack-in bonus with Z-Knight robot toys. The 9 minute long first episode is Sunrise animation with Yasuomi Umetsu character designs: some really nice Gundam-esque mecha action. The 5 minute long second episode is just a picture drama with no animation.
