I had a favorite scene in a movie that exactly matched the fantasy I liked. By accident I came across a translation of what was being said in that scene. It was nothing like what I'd imagined, and nothing like the personal fantasy I had "read into" it.
It ruined that movie for me, because I had to work so hard mentally to deny what I now knew was actually going on! So now I mute every movie I watch, Japanese or English, to remove unnecessary distractions from what I would prefer to think is happening.
But of course, I'm still always curious to know what's really being said. Just don't let curiosity kill the erection.
