Issues with downloads w/mp4.01 extentions

Hi,

New to all of this but every time I download a file with a mp4.01,2,3 etc. file ext the files will play half way through and then bomb. I of course rename them to .mp4 file extensions so they will play. It is a very consistent problem and I don't have an answer. Does anyone know a simple fix.

Download all the files and put them in the same folder. Don't rename the files.

Use software such as FFSJ or HJsplit (you can get the software easily by searching on google) to join all the files to become 1 single movie file.

As simple as that
