I'm a fan of hers, but for years now nothing have been heard of her. Last I heard anyone "in the know" was "nothing new" which means looking further back for last previous update was in late 2018 ~ early 2019 she has pretty faded from JAV and transitioned to the pleasure industry. Ahh... she's working at Club Chess
https://club-chess.stores.jp/items/5ebc00cc72b91130f205420c

Her last few works were scenes in multi-idol titles not solo works, some even uncredited (Hunter). HUH... her latest work I found was in mid-2019. It's later then I thought. In my head she retired in 2018, Supposedly the industry was still offering her a lot of work opportunity but she was firm about retiring from JAV. She was quite frank in her IG/Twitter she didn't finish high school and has no employable skill other than pleasuring men. She even claim to "regret" working in JAV all those years.

In Club Chess website, the front most video showing how they are spraying disinfectant. I'm guessing the whole host/hostess industry is not doing well... maybe someone who knows the scene will give some update. I wouldn't hold my breath myself.... but there may still be a glimmer of hope that she will return to JAV. Just wish she doesn't totally lost control of her waist line.

Yes I think she is retired, on one of my replied post, she is a darling, I would like her to be my GF, many popular JAV actresses once they start with multiple idols towards their later career stage, it could signify retirement as the industry needs to make way for new idols.

Some veterans like Sally Yoshino (aged to perfection), I still try to find their latest videos in which they still do act in multi idols, some like Akira Watase has retired for good.

For a long time I would check javlibrary or r18 once a week to see if some "previously unreleased" videos would show up or if she had decided to make a comeback if she needed the money. I think 6 months after she retired there were still some videos that turned up, but there hasn't really been anything at all for a while now, just some studio compilations and VRs. So 2½ years after she officially retired she's still to resist the call of her many fans. Good for her, not so good for us lol.

Many JAV actress claim to retire and the studio will sell their retirement movie, after few months are years, they come back. I bet their life is not as rosy unless someone is willing to marry them or keep them as a mistress or something. Everything is money now, eventually money runs low and out, they have to do what's best for them.

Some race queens if they are luck they get married, while some will go into gravure and eventually land up in JAV. on their side, things are not so rosy but to us it's entertainment. But that's life.

Aimi has moved on to another form of "entertainment", whether it earns her more cash I don't know, but clearly, after 200 videos, many of which were repetitious, she needed to break free, although with no education/qualifications to fall back on, her options were limited. As I've said before I expected her to be back in business soon enough, but after 2½ years it doesn't look like happening, although I'll never give up hoping.

Yeah, i understand, in my past I do have several crushes and interest in JAV actress, a handful that I always follow, eventually they will drop out/retire and it's good to see them again after years, and it would be great to see them as mature genres now. It's nice to watch mature sometimes, eg. MEKO titles.

Unless she ages markedly over a few years, then Aimi's face and body is probably not going to work in favour of her reappearing as a mature. She's an eternal babe, a sexpot, hardly even a fullgrown woman. There have been videos where she was cast as a slightly older woman, such as an aunt or teacher, but even in these roles it didn't take long for her to revert to type.

yeah, agree not every actress can be in mature, they just don't have the looks in them. to be milf, there is certain personality and looks to qualify.

As far as I know (heard from "reliable" sources), I want to dispute somethings that you good folks say. Before I go on, I am as big a fan of Aimi Yoshikawa, she is one of very very few idols I've followed from pre-debut to post-retirement.

1. "Good for her" that she's not returning to JAV. Normally yes, I agree if some high ranking idol retired after a successful career, than I tend to think positive thoughts: she made some savings, she's tired of the JAV grind, she find a husband (guess that's in the olden days) or find another job that's not as harsh for a older woman as JAV, maybe in some cases, she become a business owner. But in Aimi's case, no I don't think her not returning means she is having a decent or good life. Her financial situation isn't great. But she just doesn't want to come back to JAV even if it means a more comfortable income.

2. Aimi's face/body not in favour of her reappearing as a mature. Again disagree. The industry is now very pro-MILF, so all kind of mature ladies with various stages and signs of aging are finding work, even exclusive contracts in JAV. (one theory is that young fappers all know and prefer internet and piracy, so industry is focusing their production to the group of fappers who pays for DVD: older fans who don't mind older idols) And specicially for Aimi, the insider is saying that the fanbase and industry has always been wanting her return. There's no shortage of good job offers from various JAV studios. Her not returning is nothing to do with lack of support from fans and industry, it's 100% her own choice.

Both Aimi Yoshikawa and Ai Uehara, when they retired, I predicted they would return soon enough. Sadly I was wrong in both cases (well frankly I was never a huge fan of Ai Uehara, but I'd still welcome her return).

For some reasons not clear to me, Aimi is dead set against returning to JAV, I wish only the best for her, if she's treated well and paid well as club hostess, that's good for her. If she's not doing well (pandemics is definitely hurting) I wish she could resolve whatever issues she has against the industry and come back. (and hoping she's not a blimp, after 2 years away from public view)

That's what I am saying, it's good for her, as she is 100% against returning. It's anybody's guess why she won't, my guess is that after doing the same basic 50 "stories" in JAV in 200 videos, she just can't motivate herself to keep doing the same thing any longer. Her career has had its ups and downs, but she did often look pretty bored towards the end. I'm decidedly not "in the know". I'm just interpreting. I might as well be wrong as right, but if I'm right it's not the she has issues with the industry as such as much as boredom inside it. So there's no solution that can fix it. I'm well aware that life as a hostess isn't the safe paycheck that she might have been used to, but it's a different life/lifestyle to some degree, and it might have been what she needed at the time. For sure there are certain parts of the job which are more or less exactly as before, but still, if she needed better pay, it's safe to say she could at least return for a few videos; there'd be many hurrahs from Tokyo to Timbuktu if she did!

Oh oh I see where you were getting. But I don't think so... now I should also disclose I don't have definite proof or references. But in general, NO, JAV idols, and especially Aimi Yoshikawa, don't care about any artistic or creative or interesting aspect of the films they make. I can only think of two exceptions: Maria Ozawa, she refused to repeat and redo all the fan's fav themes and genres. She were "looking for new challenges" and when they ran out, she retired.

Another is Yua Mikami, she still think of herself as a celeb and always want her titles to stand out from other top idol top studio top productions, so she has more dialog lines and locations and costumes.

Aimi is absolutely not that type. She choose club over JAV, now I'm somewhat speculating here too, but I think I'm quite close to the truth, she chooses hostess over JAV because it requires less professionalism. With her (still) popularity she could make a decent monthly income doing say 2-3 JAV a month. That means 3 days of work, leaving 26+ days of free time. But for the work days, it's very demanding for the idol, even some famously professional top idols (who gets the best treatment by agency and studios) sometimes complain the exhaustion on filming days. Hostessing or most other sex workers probably have to work at least 15 days a months, many work nearly 30 days a month. But the work is minimally demanding, she can come and go as she pleases, she can take long breaks, she doesn't have to upkeep her appearance as much as JAV. But actually hostessing require a lot of people skill so frankly I'm rather surprised Aimi's famous self-centered personality doesn't get in the way. Perhaps she found a M-男 (herbivore) clientèle?

Neither of us know the exact truth, so if she's happy or even just satisfied with what she's doing/getting, then we can say she could earn more and work less with JAV till we're blue in the face. Not that I will ever stop hoping...

I'm not suggesting she's looking for 'artistically creative roles' btw. She's just done her 200 movies and now can't be bothered doing any more, regardless of the script. Can't say I blame her...

Well we are not in their shoes, each of them is unique. Regardless if they choose to get back in or retire and to some extend if the studio has a say and I bet they do. If they retire, as fans we just wish them all the best and if they come back, well it's entertainment for us again.

Some choose to go back in because eventually they can't find what life after porn is, money and lost just sitting at home. It happens to all of us, imagine you have been working for decades and suddenly you are out of job and you have no idea what to do next.

There are always new JAV actress that comes on board and eventually some of us will grow to like and follow certain actress. Just enjoy what the industry churns out for us.

There's many that comes and goes...but there will never be another Aimi!

To change the subject I came across a title of hers yesterday that I had somehow missed when checking out JAVXSpot. The title is OREGR-050, which came out a few months into her retirement. It's not listed at JAVLibrary but it is on R18. It's another one of those "Can't be bothered being here" videos half the time, but then the guy gets her going after all, and she does what only she can.

I will say this, Aimi Yoshikawa. And this is not an insult to her in any way.
But I watch some of her movies, and she was a terrible actress.
She always looked bored and it seem it took the guys to get something out the scenes.

Very pretty lady but her doing 200 movies pretty much tell you she was never into JAV. Only there for the money. I respect that.
I just thought she was a forgettable JAV actress.

She's not coming back. She just wasn't into it, I think.

Yeah, sometimes ist's volume vs quality. I prefer those who do only several, not more but under a good studio with quality directorship and some storyline. No offence for those who do over 200 mainly their scenes are mostly the same.

The very fact that there are not one, but two AY threads going, three years after she retired, tells you she made a huge impact. I don't think she'd had any following at all, if it were true that the guys were the main act...

I think she was impressive in a number of flicks, too numerous to mention, but asked to do the same thing over and over, she lost interest and did not hold back in showing boredom.

Just out of interest: how many JAV actresses can you name that weren't/aren't in it for the money?

I disagree. She always looks bored and her acting was low energy. She was never top tier. She pretty much said she only did it for the money,
And their nothing wrong with it.
Having threads means something I guess. Having 2 seem low tbh. Think how many threads someone like Emi, Julia, Uei, Yui, and abc has. :D
