Is there a successor to PD?

Insofar as I can tell, Perfect Dark has long since ceased active development. Has another P2P utility appeared to replace it?

version 1.24 of Perfect Dark came out May 5, 2021. The latest version of Perfect Dark is newer than the last version of Amoeba, and my impression is all four programs have followings: Perfect Dark, Amoeba, Share and Winny. I suspect that the most active p2p users tend to use Perfect Dark and bittorrent.

There seem to be around 2 500 users on Perfect Dark. 81 users on the ENDLESS server on Utatane. At least 80 Japanese users on WinMX. On Amoeba, there is only a handful of users, and sometimes only 2 or 3.

Hard to estimate how many Japanese users are on Bittorrent, but probably in the thousands.

do u know any good nodes / encrypted texts to use on perfect dark now? i got it recently. cheers

edit: found it on your blog, is there a way to have multiple nodes displaing at once?

If anyone is having trouble opening the ports in the router due to the lack of UPnP support in Perfect Dark, there is a tool called: UPnP PortMapper
https://github.com/kaklakariada/portmapper

The tool allows you to open a port for Perfect Dark without having to access the router (in my case the ISP did not give me the password).
