I am very worried with the releases in the last 2 o 3 months. Most of them are awful in my opinion. Even there are new labels like HOTVR or DAVR but they are a step back: bad image quality, girls KILOMETERS AWAY from camera, no sitting position, full-clothes in all scenes...
Even classic labels like SIRV are changing to this. Their 5 or 6 last releases don't have full nudes and sitting position. I am number 1 fan of JAV VR but I am loosing the faith. It is not porn VR, is just a camera filming a girl with full clothes doing some type of theather two meters away from camera...
I am downloading and buying almost nothing this summer. And the next releases posted by Casshern2 looks almost the same...

I have to say that I watched some of the september's releases and they are much better than the summer ones... Stars like Imai Kaho, Minatsuki Hikaru or Inaba Ruka return, new and and beautiful girls, the scenes have more quality, better image quality...

@Walle12 hope that turns around for you, friend! I wonder if the trend you're seeing is "market based" as in the producers see what best sells in the usual formats and they try to bring the same to the VR experience? Or, perhaps VR productions are quicker/cheaper and the girls only get paid a percentage of what a full release title would be so they are not asked (ie compensated) for anything other than what we get in VR?

I suspect the reason for the dismal quality these past few months is that with the plague, VR, being at best a secondary or tertiary income stream for the large studios, is the easiest to drop or half-ass. That is my hope anyway and the quality returns soon.
Really, there is not that many high-quality VR studios, with Prestige out of the game and Faleno not entering the market. There is a lot of crap studios (CrystalVR, Casanova, KoalaVR, Jackpot System, Dream Ticket, MiluVR, Teppan VR, etc.) Are these bonafide studios or some cheap outsourcing houses?
I love VR as I get to find out which actresses have that special something (physical or acting). There is no "lying" with lighting, make-up, or lens. It is amazing how some actresses really "get" VR and have fun with it and can turn-in a wonderful performance and which actresses don't have a clue or are not really interested.

Please instruct the actress how far way to remain (unless kissing, etc.) and how loud to lick and kiss (these microphones are sensitive and you sound like a dog). Pick the correct lenses and lighting set-ups. Isn't there a VR 101 (lessons-learned) manual by now? I thought Japanese companies embraced kaizen. /rant
While I wish for my favorite actresses to each film a distinct set of genres/scenes according to my tastes, I really hope the studios experiment more and learn new techniques (ex. translational movement, create your own plot). Show me something innovative. Not everything will be successful but please at least try.

I hope the decreased quality of the last 2 or 3 months it is because the coronavirus and not because the companies are giving up. I try to buy all that I can at A Festa to support VR. I have bought around 200 euros of JAV VR in the last months. Do you know any other store where you can buy and download JAV VR (I don't pay for streaming). A Festa don't have most of the titles.
One of the problems, as Ceres_Eris_Pluto says, is that most of the big companies don't do VR. The withdrawal of Prestige has been a tragedy for VR. I hope they return.
As you say Casanova, GOPJ, Jackpot System, Dream Ticket, MiluVR, Teppan VR, most of their releases are crap. Not only for the scenes, but because they don't have a clue about how to film VR. In most of their titles the girls look like giants with most of the glasses.
Crystal VR at least make Takumi versions of their films with fisheye, they look good and girls have the correct size. Soft of Demand make some good and original movies, but their image quality is abismal in most of the titles. Other ones look good, I can't understand that.
I like traditional scenes and traditional sex, don't like weird things, but as Ceres says the studios need to experiment more and use new techniques. All the movies use the same 3 o 4 types of scenes: blowjob, cowgirl, missionary, end.
I know it is a personal taste, but in the last months I have noted that veteran labels don't do sitting position and full nudes.

The wonderful Maki Tomoda returns after two years with a movie where you don't see almost an inch of her skin:
I can understand some people like sex scenes with clothes and find them erotic, but this is porn and this is VR, you want to see the full body, to feel the girls, not a skirt or a shirt. At least me.
I respect other tastes but if the movie have 4 o 5 scenes, why to film all of them with full-clothes? Why not at least one scene with nudes, and all of us are happy? I can't understand.
I have waited 2 years for a new Maki Tomoda VR title but I won't buy / download this one. And probably we won't see her anymore, because Madonna VR don't film twice with the same girl... They do a VR movie every two years, like Maki Hojo...

I still think this is because the story line calls for it. In the experience being presented, basically sneaking in some sex, getting fully nude wouldn't be wise.
So, the director perhaps wanted that level of detail in his creation.

It would be easy to add a final scene: the husband / father dies of a heart attack and they can practice sex without hidding...
But other titles (like the SIVR one) don't have this type of story and it is the same, always with the clothes on... In fact most of the JAV VR releases have clothes, and it doesn't happen in standard releases...
I suppose that if they make them it's because they sell, but it's a japanese fetish I don't understand. Western porn VR is mostly full-nude. And standard JAV porn, too...

Does anyone know what happened with Alice Japan?? They used to release three AJVR titles the first days of every month, but they haven't launched any VR title on september. Maybe because the summer?

I think when you don't understand what they're saying it's hard to appreciate the story. I mean heck, I might download a title whose actress I wasn't really immediately interested in if its story is something that piques my interest.
But about Quest 2... It seems to have exceeded my expectations by quite a lot. Simply put: Twice the pixels of Quest 1. Lighter. More powerful. Described to have improved comfort. So much space you could fit ten full 4K titles.
