This will work yes for downloadable and streaming content.
You will not be able to purchase physical items using this method. As those require a Japanese address and if you had one then the need for this tutorial would be trivial.
You're correct in that everything downloaded is DRM protected, unless you download the DVD Toaster version which can only be done on Windows and needs a broadband connection.

As for removing the DRM from DMM content, I use and recommend
iskysoft DRM Removal
The results are satisfactory and the price of the software more than pays for itself after a few conversions. If you're after physical items I and some others can help you out. Just drop a PM.

Do the monthly subscriptions work under this too? Those give you 1000's of movies for one monthly price.
