I read an article in some other forum about a guy who was arrested in Europe for sharing warez. He said that police came to his house with a warrant, arrested him, and then search through his hard-drive. I just want to know how often that this happen? Have any of you been or know someone who has been arrested for sharing JAV's in the internet????

The only time I ever heard of anything similar was way back when Napster was still free, and some kid got arrested for sharing music. I've never seen anything recently about people sharing any kinds of videos or anything. I think it's one of those things where they just arrest one person every so often just to prove they still can/will do it.

"Warez" can be any kind of illegal material being shared online, movies, software, keygen, games, music, cartoons, regular pr0n, etc. The local police will focus on the material supposedly illegal on their country, and catch mainly the big fishes.

Thinking of being arrested in Europe for sharing JAV sounds like a joke to me.

If you get caught illegally downloading JAV, a JAV starlet comes to your house and spanks you. :sadomaso:

Oh wait...:puzzled: that's not much of a deterrent is it. :dunno:

Frankly, I'm suspicious of the story to begin with. Unless the person on the other forum has a link to some irrefutable proof of this instance (or at least a link to the story on a credible news site) I'd disregard the whole thing as fantasy.

Adult film companies have to live with the unfortunate reality that they have a very desirable product, but very few friends with the power to help them combat piracy. Huge Hollywood companies have the money to get things done, generally small adult film companies don't have that same luxury.

Also consider, like elgringo14 said, warez could be nearly anything. Assuming the story is true, was there any mention of what was actually being shared? The specific product and what company owns that product can help determine just how likely it is that they're taking people to court.

I've never heard of anyone, anywhere, who was actually brought up on charges for downloading (or uploading) perfectly legal adult movies. I have a feeling that, if that ever happens, it will be inescapable news and the butt of many a joke! :joker:

In Britain there's a lawyer sending "pay up or we will sue" letters on behalf of American porn producers. It made the news because it was likened to extortion. People pay up out of embarrassment because they don't want their kinks exposed, particularly when porn catering to those kinks is potentially illegal in Britain.
