Blade Runner: Japanese has a crapload of 'old men' in the 65 year and older category. You've got at least another generation (20 years) of men enjoying these types of movies so props to a studio for making a throwback type of movie. I don't view it as a reaction to increased conservatism. The Yui Hatano title is just a 'period piece' which is something not done too often.

Due to that recent actress who made the accusations, there is a bit of a push towards playing it safe, but insertion itself isn't going anywhere so please don't worry.

IMO it's a mistake that could limit growth and revenue. JAV would be locked into JDM for years. Less consumers and more stagnation as time goes by (Don't play it again, Sam). Insiders will look back and say "woulda, coulda, shoulda" or its Japanese equivalent.
