Suddenly a lot of links on the forum go through dereferer.pw. Have I caught some kind of virus or is this a new thing on the forums?
Example Instead of http://www.tora-ana.jp/detail.php?id=474 a link in one of the threads was http://dereferer.pw/?http://www.tora-ana.jp/detail.php?id=474. If you click it you first get a page which says if you don't get redirected in 5 seconds you should click some link. Then 5 seconds later I get the page I actually want. I also saw it in quite a few links to thumbnail images.

Yeah, also came across that today. The point is that the shown link and the link beneath are different. But I don't get the point behind using something like that. I mean of course I get the idea of hiding links. But why in this forum? Do we have problems with crawlers? And I guess that link e.g. @Electromog mentioned must be hidden, right? Very confusing...

this is just a test and will be here for a few days and then eventually be gone again.

actually it's less than 2 seconds till the redirect happens.

This will remove the referer from the link - thus it's not such a big deal for akiba, since we normally don't give a shit about this.
it's also a test to see if we can get some money from the one-click-hoster for our servers (they somehow have a big problem with https-refs...)

That's ok then, I was just worried something might have slipped past my AV software.

Hi, I experienced the same situation.
However, my images/thumbnail links are replaced by dereferer.pw, and after clicking, it directs to an unavailable site.

Should I worry about that?
the url will be added to all external links.

your images won't work, because you are using a banned image-hoster.
please change your image-hoster and it will work again. (be sure to check the rules for image-hosters, before using them)

We've started to add the banned image-hosters to a blacklist - so the URL will be replaced with ***** in order to enfoce the hoster-rule
This is mainly due to nobody ginving a shit about this rules.

edit
fyi: we decreased the usage of dereferer to only a few links, since it hasen't had the effects i hoped it would have

I have recently a problem with slowly loading pages (mostly javascript, I can't use any features based on it like writing posts for quite long time, even though I see static content) - browser is trying to connect to dereferer.pw; search for this domain has shown this thread as one of the top global results (!), so the question is: is the said site OK?

I am getting the dereferer thing again too, now. It really slows down the site. Hadn't noticed it for years. Did something get changed?
