Unfortunately, this thread seems to have died off rather quickly. Maybe the Japanese are not as creative as I had thought after all? In any case, here are another two things that I liked:
ARM-338 One Dark Night ~ Tale Of A Sweet Vampire ~ Konishi Marie
It's very easy to get what this title's all about: Konishi Marie is a vampire that feeds on semen instead of blood - I would call her a semen vampire, but alas, Idea Pocket has already claimed that term with their IPTD-835 and IPZ-098 titles, even though they are much less imaginative. Anyway, Konishi Marie lives in a mansion of sorts, like posh vampires do, except that sometimes she's got a maid outfit on, other times she seems to be wearing a dress like a noblewoman would. SDMS-993 FUCK-1 Japan Grand Prix
Back then this was actually the title I'd use to introduce my friends into the world of JAV, just to show them how zany it can get. Again, I don't how well it works as a porno, as I haven't really watched it. A trailer is what made me notice this movie, and how differently it was handled, with eerie music, as well as some stylistic visual attempts... not your usual JAV.
We don't need to point to the recent spate of horror movies such as THE GRUDGE to know how much the Japanese love their ghost stories... we (in the West) can go back to earlier Akira Kurosawa movies to know that.
I didn't study the movie, and I'm going to give a quick overview of what I guess is going on... at the movie's beginning, it looks like the spirit (played by Baldie) does the equivalent of "rising from the grave" (not that ghosts have yet to go in the grave, they are ghosts, for heaven's sake) and nears a house...
He terrorizes the occupants, a husband and wife played by Mr. Dignified and the always wonderful Yu Kawakami...
Yu effortlessly strikes her sexy poses. It looks like Mr. Dignified has become possessed, and has begun to mistreat his spouse.
The now-evil Mr. Dignified visits the house of some woman, played by Nao Mizuki; he ties up Yu and has her way with Nao, who does not look too unhappy about what she is expected to do.

I'm pretty torn about SDMS-993. I like the concept, but not the bondage aspect of it. It makes me think that the girls don't want to be there, which ruins it for me. But the core idea is to be commended, for sure!
