codec (?) help, green screen on MPC

Twice this week i've downloaded videos that just appear as a blank green screen on media player classic.

the sound works okay but the video is just green.
been using MPC w/ K-Lite mega codec pack for years now without problems.

just wondering if there's a new codec around that fixes this

providing the file info would be a big help. use mediainfo lite if you are not sure. posting the results here will likely not result in more questions.

could be a codec conflict. have you tried uninstall k lite, reboot, install just MPC-HC x86. if no luck try just ffdshow first. if you cant force its usage, go "view>options>internal filters" in MPC-HC and uncheck all the transform filters. from "All Programs" open "ffdshow>video decoder configuration" and set "codecs" from there.

sorry if my advice is a little basic. im just offering what i would do first to try to troubleshoot.
